Ok i have followed instructions on other posts to try to load alternate cards. I have allowed hidden files and opened up the vghd folder and i see no data, or models folders, even after allowing hidden files. Can some one please show a screenshot of path to this i just cannot find the file or folder that has all the models files. I have right clicked on vghd and tried to open it does not open i have found a vghd folder and opened it and it has vghd main executable and vghd downloader and some other files, but no data or models. any help would be appreciated. id love to beable to add alternate cards. but right now im just frustrated. thank you for any help. i use windows xp.

Hi @wdawg: You're within the wrong folder. Your Data/Models folder are stored within the personal user area, not in the programs folder. Go to the following path:

WinXP: c:\documents and settings\YOUR_USERNAME\Application Data\vghd\
(VISTA: c:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\vghd\)

The ..\Application Data\.. folder is a hidden one, therefore you must allow 'show hidden'.

I have a German installation, a screenshot wouldn't help so much. But I think you will find the data folder now;)

I am not computer illeterate exactly. but where do i find this path or where do i type this path I do not know how to get to the personal user area.

BTW: I'm working on this topic too with my Toolbox project. Then you are able to replace/restore cards simple with some mouse clicks;)

setfuego, heres what im doing im copying an alternate picture. droppping it in a0158 folder going to give it the same name as card replacing. can u rename the card replaced anything or does it have to be a0518XXX. like in folder is card a0518c im placing alternate card in folder and am going to give it the name a0518c and change old a0518c with a new name a0518f or can i name it ariel and trish. thus the folder would have alternate card(a0518c) and original card(now named trish and ariel, or A0518m) or am i way off base.

You can give the original card any name, VGHD looks in that folder only for (in your example) a0518c.jpg. But the best way is just to move the original cards into a backup folder. Create within the Data folder a new folder i.e. ..\data\OriginalCards\ and simple move the originals you wish to replace into this new folder. Then you can just overwrite the cards within the ..\data\a0xx\ folders.

You have been very helpful i have successfully, replaced a card with an alternate thank you very much. I have 1 final question. My alternate card only shows on the right when i click on the smaller one. the cards in the collection tho have the normal card if i click on it than to the right the picture comes up with alternate, is there a way to make the one you click on an alternate card so lets say if i made all of my 231 cards alternate then in my collections all the cards would be alternate. again thank you for all your help.

Congratulation and your final question is simple answered, YES, there is;)
Just Quit VGHD and start again...the smaller pics in 'My Collection' are preloaded when starting VGHD, so quit and start again, your cards will all be alternate ones, enjoy.
