@Ullubu - even without the block of 404 errors it would still be much more work for the hundred or so full collection owners and the similar or somewhat larger number of near full collection owners to collect 10 stars - they can only use something like 20% of the offers but can't be certain when those will be available so they need to check pretty well 100% of the two hour slots. Given that most of us have to go to work at some point this implies that we will have to loose sleep to be certain to see enough usable offers. Only we few will need to do that.

@Wyldanimal - I did correct myself. However it is still a significant amount of real money that only the full collection owners will have to pay if they want the bonus card (which, being collectors they probably do). Nobody else with a healthy credit balance would need to shell out any cash.

Worst Case for a Full Collection Owner is
4 Reloads at 4.99 per reload of 25 credits, and you get 12 stars... a Total of 19.96

If you had at least 1 card available in any of the Other Offers...
then you total cost for the 10 stars is Less that 19.96

Triple Diamond Members With FULL Collections CAN easily earn 10 stars..

@marc999 - no it doesn't say that. For all the offers you get the stars once per SALE not once per purchase. This has been explained here several times.

They only award the 3 stars once, WA. At least, that's what happened with me. I only got the three stars once with this sale, but reloaded twice - 3x altogether for this event and bought all but one of the remaining cards with the packs and buy 3 get one free events, to include the classics I wasn't that interested in and I still am only sitting at 6 stars. Not sure how I will earn all 10 stars :(

@marc999 - You only get the stars for the first purchase of any promo during its 2 hour window.

Yeah, I found that out the hars way... I messed up seriously and now there is only one card left for me to buy, LOL.

He's saying you have to wait till the next same reload promotion comes around. You can't do it in the same event time frame. You get 3 stars each time that way.

@Wldanimal - yes of course I know that it will be possible if I keep on checking - but I have to do that far more often than if I did not have a full collection meaning that I can not leave my PC for anywhere as long as "normal" members, If I had a lot of cards still left to collect then I could easily have collected 10 points in about one day - but as it is it took 18 hours checking every two hours before I could qualify for any stars at all. Its not impossible - just much more work than for most members and can very easily be made impossible by external factors like work or family commitments.

Every Credit used to earn the Stars is the Same as Shelling Out CASH.
It's just Members that Don't have the Full Collection Might Already have the CASH in the BANK...
IE, Credits in their Account Already... So they are Spending Cash already Banked by Them...



You, as a Member have to Decide how much to Spend on the Reload bonus Offer..
You DO NOT have to Spend $50 x 4 = $200

Worst Case
4 reloads of 4.99 = 19.96, unless you decided to buy more... but that is the Members choice..

That is no where nearly the same as saying you will get 3 stars on each reload.

And yes I presume it will run again, the offers are rotated through out the week, so that everyone has a fair chance of participating in each offer, since we are not all on the same time zone. It is an automated process.
I also foresee that it will result in the 404 errors again, it is weekend, and the office in Paris is closed. So I would not set my hopes high on a successful preorder.

@ullubu - I know you weren't responding to my post - but you did seem to be ignoring the suggestion in the post you quoted that Totem should compensate for the the extra difficulty by in effect reducing the number of stars we need to get. I am not sure that would be the best way to handle it because it might be perceived as unfair by those that have to get the full count and this would then probably lead to endless complaints.

Yeah, I know hoss. I didn't buy twice based on your advice, but based on the wording of the promo. That's what misled me... same way I was misled with the wording of the promos where I ended up screwing myself based on my understanding of how the promo was worded and bought multiple packs. It was only then I started following this thread and realized that each sale EVENT can only award the stars once... sigh, I should have known better, I suppose.

@Wyldanimal - you seem to be willfully misunderstanding me. So I will try a simple it as a simple example.

On thursday a full collection owner may have a lot of spare credits due to purchasing them several months ago. Since that time his financial situation may have changed significantly such that he can not afford to buy any more credits but, because of his credit balance, can still buy cards quite freely. For such a person even a 20 euro expense may be a problem, admittedly it would probably only be a ***** one but in principle it could be significant. Had he not had a full or nearly full collection he could manage quite happily using just his outstanding credit balance and easly qualify for the bonus card - but if he does have a full or near full collection then he has to choose between spending 20 euro or not attempting to get the bonus card.

i am not in that position, and it is quite likely that none of us are in quite such tight straights, but it is certainly possible and i have seen many messages from triple diamond members claiming that they "can't afford" to waste credits on special offers that may include cards they don't like.
