are you running amd apu / hardware? DVI and HDMI are the same electrically. Could be driver / software related. Also can some tell me if running a higher DPI affects the Istripper software. This may be why I can see a change. I run my DPI at 115%. Makes all my icons and texts nice and big and clear on 1080p.

Maybe we are getting our gold wires crossed... ;)
Technically, I'm agreeing with you! At 100% on HDMI the image is cleaner and crisp... on a bigger monitor that would look good.
However where we disagree is daily usage (and maybe brand name) the trade up for hard drive space and processor power at 75% is marginal...

On paper, monitor wise our DPI is the same, perhaps the sharper image comes from the fact that my DPI has to cover 2" squared more...

What CPU are you running that gets 75% with 3K. My AMD FX 8320E uses 15% at tops with 3K content. I know any Intel core i5/i7 since Sandy Bridge should be able to match or more likely beat that. Unless totem has coded istripper for better multi-threaded support.

multi-threaded rendering is enabled by default in iStripper. it's the threadedRendering registry entry. here are my registry hives to change it/restore it without having to navigate to the specific entry or create it if missing. edit in notepad if you are concerned about the contents. there's nothing dodgy in there though.

threadedRendering OFF: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzINJSTWk-swb0pOd1lacktDZTA
threadedRendering Default Setting (ON): https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzINJSTWk-swSEUzUy1acDZlVXM

maybe try both settings and see if it is any better. also, make sure the colour profile is correctly configured for your monitor so you have the right levels, saturation, brightness and contrast to make the most of your screen

12/15% cpu usage at 75% screen size in 3k... as in my other posts... my Intel i5 330, chugs along quite happily, thanks!
I recently upped my memory to 12GB and adding a primary 1TB hard drive gave virtual ram something to get it's teeth into.... ;)

I do worry about how eager you are to find fault with my system...

For those who have a monitor and a graphic card with a Display Port (DP), use this one. This is the best digital connection, 1.2 version is able to display 4k at 120Hz and the future 1.3 version will be able to display 8k at 120Hz.

I forgot to add you must calibrate your monitor's color. Out of the box it does suck but after you get it done it makes it feel like a completely new monitor.

Well turns out I only have VGA and HDMI inputs so nevermind DVI lol...I will probably just buy another awesome BlueRigger HDMI cable...the current one I have is threaded...not sure if I should get another threaded one or not...we'll see :)

Edit: Mine is gold plated...I prefer those because they help resist corrosion...supposedly

premium HDMI cables are a con. a cheapo one works just as well as a premium one because they carry a digital signal. the only feature I look out for is a rotatable connector as they fit better for wall mounted screens that have ports facing the wall.

Also to further increase the quality I have found that overclocking your monitor or buying a higher refresh monitor helps also.

Also I forgot how I ran my setup. I have a DVI cable connected to the monitor running to a HDMI switcher hub I have mounted to my desk. From there is HDMI to the GPU and HDMI to my XBox One. So the cabling doesn't matter. Long as it is a digital signal and IPS-like technology you should be a to get a superior picture quality out of the program.
