After creating and saving a playlist via the "Playlists" sidebar you can load it via the "Now Playing" sidebar using the "Insert playlist" button. You can use this to insert multiple playlists and you can also add individual cards. You can use the "Random" tickbox at the bottom of the sidebar to control whether the playlist entries are played sequentialy or in a random order, and you can use the "Repeat" tickbox next to it to control whether or not to repeat playing the cards or not when the end of the list has been reached.
You do not have to deactivate the cards that are not on the playlist.
You can add playlists or individual cards to "Now Playing" two or more times to cause some to be selected more freqently than others. And you can have some cards two or more times in a single playlist to give priority to those cards over others in the playlist. With a little bit more effort you can work at the individual clip level rather than at the card level.
This is, of course, all explained in the user manual.
