I apologize if my quesion has been answered before, but I could hardly find any info about the issue I am curious of.

I have noticed, that since more or less three months I did not recive any demo of new relased cards. In fact the latest demo, that appeared on the magical one credit wheel I can recall was Luren Christ - Erotic Assaisn, which was published 117 days ago.

Now, I am pretty sure, that demos I recive each day do follow some kind of pattern, as I am usualy getting the cards that seem to be fixed in some groups based on relase dates. That made me to rule out bad luck of mine.

My question is: were the new relases purposefuly removed from promotions, and if so, when will those be avaible? Or do I just ***** from some kind of bug?

The Demo Carousel has been a work in progress since it was implemented. I don't believe it's on the top of their priority list right now but they will make it work the way they intend it to, eventually.

The rotation is supposed to be random with NO cards being prevented from appearing. As posted by Rex. Several times now, I believe. I haven't noticed any kind of pattern with my carousel. The only thing I've noticed lately is that Carla Pacini REALLY wants me to buy her Boss's Wife card. She seems to be returning front and center quite often......lol. Although, I haven't been studying the carousel daily.

I have been studying the carousel for quite some time now. Here's a few of my observations:

I'm using version 1.1.0.12 currently, if I update to the latest version, my demo rotation usually resets to the beginning (not sure how to backup the card files yet.)

The rotation works as far as them changing daily, with about 2-6 models a day coming in, depending on how long I can keep the software open.

I think there is some kind of date-sensitive order going on, as none of the latest releases have came up yet for me.

I have all 4 boxes checked under "Downloads", so this might help me get cards a little faster than a user who does not use P2P.

Most of the time, I get all the cards from a given model offered to me until they've all shown up as Demos: example, I just had 4 of Krystel's cards come back to back. ( got them all) waiting on 1 more to complete her collection.

If totem would just put that "replace her" button back, I think the demo carousel would be perfect.

I have not had a new demo for most of the year, it just cycles through old demos over and over. For a couple of days in April the problem went away and I could again download demos.

After buying a dozen cards its stopped downloading new cards and I have not had a new demo since then.

You would think this would be a priority for Totem as it makes them money but they seem to have no interest in fixing the problems.

Everything was fine before .08.

I wish they would just leave well enough alone.

Running version 12 my demo carousel is working pretty well.

With P2P on I get 10 demos a day split between VG & DB. For the newer cards all I can add is be VERY patient. I've been logging which cards I get on the carousel and I got every single card not in my collection below card number 970. When all of the old ones had come through, last week, after three months, I started getting the newest cards.

What annoyed me though is that I got a few of the newest cards added to my collection in the 32-card glitch last week. Of course those cards were then removed from my collection the following day, but the newest ones I wanted have not appeared in the carousel. Early this week the carousel got right up to the very newest cards issued last Friday and has now returned to the beginning, so I guess I'll be waiting another three months for those cards I wanted. :(

Yeah, this has been an issue for me as well ever since .08. Very annoying, to say the least. I hardly ever get any demo replacements, and when I do it's just the ones I've seen previously, never new ones. You're right though, this has got to be ***** their bottom line.

From the looks of things lately though, it seems as though Totem's been ***** at the wheel. This is the second week in a row now that the new subscription cards are coming through with dates in the 2010 range, so I have to dig through my 1000 card collection to find them, rather than have them just appear at the top.

This issue was posted about last week on the new cards thread by myself & others. Can't believe they didn't see it. Come on Totem, get it together already.

They'll keep working on it until they're done. Probably work on it some more after that. It takes as long as it takes. It's been a work in progress since it was released. It's not the only thing they're working on. Blah blah blah.

They don't need to be reminded about it. ***** about it every week or so won't make it get fixed to your liking any quicker.

I disagree.

IMO communication from Totem is, to put it politely, patchy at best. This is something that's clearly important to many people: just look at how many threads have been started with similar issues. And it's been an issue for a months now: several official software releases have come and gone and failed to address the carousel demo situation.

The only communication we've seen is the sort of bland brush-off typified by the first paragraph. Without constant reminders to Totem and, hopefully, some sort of substantive response, what indication is there that anything is happening?

Well.......The carousel has had issues since it was released. Which has been much more than a month ago. That's why I say it's a work in progress. It's always been a work in progress. It's not perfect but...........What is ?

The fact that something is fixed or changed with it with every new software version tells you they're working on it. Each new release having a fix IS a response and an indication that something is being done. Is it not ?

version 1.1.0.15 had the first FIX for the Demo Rotations in it.
While it might not be 100%, it did fix the demo rotation for a lot of users.

I have a free account with just demos, no purchased cards.
I've been getting daily rotations..
have been since 1.1.0.15

Just because there is a beta or a beta becomes a Final release, doesn't mean EVERY bug has been addressed.
They release a version as they correct things..
Some things are *****, so they may release a version with several things fixed.
The Demo rotations, unfortunately is a work in progress..
Behind the scenes it's a lot more complicated than the average user understands.
Every users has a different encoding, different rights, different available cards not in the collection. So a lot of logistics to manage.
also they have to manage it so it makes money for the company.

From a members point of view, they want, 20 demos a day, and an option to replaces the ones they don't like, so they can buy every card at a discount of 1 credit.
Well then for that matter, Totem should just give away every card for 1 credit and stop making money..

End of Totem...

The Software plays the cards you own. That's the real point of it..
The Demo tab, and discounted cards, is just an added perk...
Totem hopes to use it to try and generate more sales..
So it's a trial and error process.. a work in progress..

It's a customer's sacred right to ***** about a part of the product he or she buys. There has been no official communication regarding the issue.

I'm happy that 1.0.15 fixed the problem for some, but it didn't fix it for everyone.

The carousel has been in need of a fix for more than a month now. You can't really believe that they are not able to code it right for more than a month, can you?

Currently, it looks like this issue is ignored because it is treated as a ***** one that not too many people care about. Bumping the thread shows that the community desires a fix.

my demos always came in the same order, but the new version fixed this somewhat (but definitely not completely).

Interesting point of view you have there Alkasyn. Yes...........We buy the cards and we own them, however, we don't buy the software. It belongs to Totem and we are allowed to use it to play the cards we own.

Everytime they release a new version, they make an "Official Communication" about there being another fix. Well, they didn't let us know when one of the versions was released but they usually do.

The carousel has been in need of a fix since it was released (not just for a month now) and they've been working on it since it was released. I'm guessing it's not working the way you want it to for you for a month now and that's all that matters to you ??

I suppose you want them to post a daily job log in the forum to tell us what they're working on every day and what progress was made to prove it's not being ignored ??

The current official version is now 1.1.0.16. Have you tried that one yet to see if there's any change for you ?

Yes I did try 1.0.16.

I know the demos tab is not working for longer than a month. I just used that time frame because I was not sure exactly when it was implemented. I did not want to be inaccurate.

If you got nothing to add but personal remarks and petty verbal attacks , I'd ask you to refrain from posting.

Stating some facts and asking a few questions is not a personal remark or a petty verbal attack. I'm not off topic or anything like that either. I guess you just don't want to hear from anyone who disagrees with your point of view on the matter. Since you went there, I might even consider your first comment in this thread as a petty verbal attack on the Team. Then claiming it's being ignored would be another one.

This isn't your thread so you don't have the right to even suggest that I don't post here. I'll continue to state what I believe to be facts and ask questions as long as I wish to do so.

It seems like it's taking them forever to get the carousel to function as they intend it to but it's a complicated function, as WA stated. It's not being ignored. If it's worked right for you for any length of time, you should be happy. As I said in my first post, I keep getting the same card front and center but I see some humor in it.

I think I understand how the demo roster works, all you guys who are having problems should try it out.

Basically, the roster will cycle through available demos. However, for me, it cycles through Virtuagirl demos if I have Virtuagirl ticked as "on" and never changes any Deskbabes demos when I have it as "off". I do not have both options turned to "on" at the same time.

Check it out, guys, and see if there's any change.

What is unsatisfactory is the split between VG and DB.

In the past 3 weeks I have received 10 new demos each day but over those 3 weeks I have got only 15 new DB demos, all the rest, 195, have been VG. As a result VG demos are speeding through the carousel in 1 or 2 days while DB demos are hanging around for over 2 weeks.

Same thing, DB demos cycled all the collection twice already, but VG is moving nowhere.

Updated my version, then went looking for why the replace model's show option was gone. Apparently I'd held onto an older version longer than most.

Anyhow, the demo roster hasn't moved, despite assurances that apparently it is supposed to all day. At least with the replace option, I could nudge it along. I own the vast majority of the cards on virtuagirl, and most of the older shows I don't have I have a complete lack of interest in. The discount is nice, I freely admit I like it, but the main thing is seeing the new demos, not being locked with shows I've been saying no to for over a year.

Even if we can't get the 'replace her show' option back, can we at least get a preference system to block particular demo shows we do not want to see, if they are of significant vintage or such?

The demos do move for me at an amazing rate. As I suspected it has NOTHING to do with your software version, it was something on their side - the part that's responsible for choosing what demo to send to you.
