When I right click on the "V" the options is missing. How do I get it back?

Not sure what options you are looking for, i didn't find the new software that much different. Try choosing settings and that will open the desktop settings screen.
The largest change for me was needing to click the advanced settings button (on the left when you double click the V icon) that was the place to see what is currently being downloaded and to set the skin.
