tiobruno57 basically simplified it for you. I understand the nuisance of seeing so many polls but again there are thousands of threads on this site and so you have an abundance of threads to choose from. Also, because you have a choice as to read or not read them, so should others have the choice to start as many as the moderators will allow. Should your complaint be supported by them, then it would infringe on everyone's freedom 2 do what they want within the bounds of VGHD rules, including starting a complaint thread, which is more annoying than a poll thread because the argument has no validation. The polls I do are meant to be fun because I would like for others to have fun. Some polls have some very important issues to address. And some polls are less important but that does not mean they are less valuable than the important ones. In any case, it is a lost cause and wrong to ***** about others using their freedom to do as they please despite that it may annoy you.

The current proliferation of polls is due to a knockout competition featuring all 109 vghd girls. It's now nearing the end of the second round. Each round will obviously feature fewer polls.

So if you don't like it, just ignore it and let others have their fun. It'll soon be over.

Personally I've been joining in and very much enjoying the competition. Perhaps you should lighten up a bit and join in too.

hello, I personally think it's a good thing, it gives a movie, sorry if I do not participite, but I am not against and most importantly have fun though.

It's long overdue that polls were either rationed, got rid of completely or placed in a polls section on their own where the large numbers of totally disinterested posters can choose not to go.

The forum has become unwieldy and no longer fit for purpose, it used to be a good forum where members encountering problems or just having general queries could easily find information, now it's just become a complete waste of time as everything has been submerged by polls that few people are even voting in, it has become virtually impossible to find anything amongst the dross of interminable polls.

At the moment we have Severin24 who is responsible for inflicting 35 polls, immediately before him there was Peterboy1975 who inflicted 27 on us, that's 62 threads about quite frankly zilch and that doesn't include all the other odd ones. It's not even as though lots of people are voting. Is there expectation that polls will achieve anything?

Totem is a business not a democracy so get real.

There are thread categories. Search them. Don't ***** about peoples polls. They are having fun. What was so brilliant about the forum that all of a sudden it has become like the forum to a dancing girls site? People need help... there are still categories. Just click the "forum" tab and and you can go anywhere you want to in the categories. They even have marks for polls so you can avoid the posts that have polls. My god.

The polls Dominate the forum.
I am here showing someone the forum and the recent posts page opens to 10 polls. Click on forum and last 50 post and it is almost all polls.

Polls need their own section. A poll section at least lets other members avoid polls (except on last 50 and most recent). Think it is easy to avoid? Anyone can create a poll that would spam the forum.

Sure it is easy to tell people that don't like a billion polls to not read them but you can't avoid them. Same as telling people to not go in every poll and *****- you can just not read them but you have to see them to avoid them and then you already dealt with it.

Spam is spam even if it is fun for those involved. Someone can make 100 polls, each with a different picture of melissa and have members vote on best melissa picture. Then do one for natali blond. Then morgane. Then do one for who was best in porn. 500 polls posted in 3 hours. Now find other posts.

I agree with giving them their own category. They take up a ton of space.

I agree the mods should take care of the spam on this forum.

I just wanna give you one example. Each morning, when I came to the board I try to get all the postings I've missed during my residence in my bed (cause i have to sleep from time to time).

Usually I enter for this the "50 Last Posts" Forum. And also usually it is filled with picture postings about alternative Cards, users Artwork etc. or postings from users which have more to say than others (politely expressed).

So, where does a Mod have to draw the line ?

Personaly I think it's not my task to cutting or censor the joy of communcation of individual users.
Life as a Mod here tought me that each PP (PowerPoster) will get tired some day (the exception prove the rule).

Maybe we can stay here on this, that each of us takes more respectfulness of others.

coldinjected, the last time out I tried to approach the problem of too many polls in a serious but humourous way by putting in place yet another poll, you took my attempt at raising a serious topic in a humourous way completely the wrong way, that isn't my fault. American & British comedians don't interchange for the same reason, irony plays a big part in our humour but the majority of Americans don't understand irony which is borne out by your rather typical US attitude.

On the subject of the excess of polls I could have just moaned & groaned, been accused of being a miserable so & so, & in drawing attention to the problem, started a big argument between the pros and the antis, something which I specifically didn't want to do.

Re. avoiding the polls, yes they are marked as polls but have you actually looked at the forums lately?

Nobody is against polls per se but surely we can all see that there are far too many, and as the number increases it is annoying more & more people.

I agree there is too many polls or that they create too much background noise on the forum. Any idea on how to regulate this? Any experience in it? One poll per user per week? User's preferences not to see any polls? Button to repport polls as ***** / uninsteresting that makes them vanish? lmk

hello rex, the best i think is, then who made can made, and all who not want see can marque uninsteresting and no see more the polls.

For myself, I believe the best answer is a new "Polls" section and put them all in there then people can easily ignore them if required. I wouldn't like to see them abolished but they have become a problem in certain areas of the forum where it has now become virtually impossible to find information.

i agrée also the idea of @BAfsb for a Polls section. or give the possibility to move several Polls in this new section.

is think we must see different poll, several about the program and several about the girls.

Can the last 50 posts be put in each section? Then the polls could only pop up in a "polls" section. I agree on that.

Hello Rex, I am in agreement on the 'one poll per week' idea, on the other hand, if one user per week actually did one poll just think how many polls that would actually be if all the users did just one !!
I have sat back and not said much about it but let's admit the truth of the matter, and that is there has been entirely too many polls as of late and if were to continue this way you wouldn't have any room left on the servers in a year or so to put any new shows .... lmao

My vote would be set up a seperate forum for polls only, and even then only allow one per week from each user.
That would save time for the mods and would also save the hassle to others who don't actually care for them. Sounds like a win/win situation to me.

Well one poll per week would make such funny votes like severin24s at the moment impossible. This would definitly destroy the fun for many forum users.

I can't believe there are so many killjoys on this forum, including apparently Rex himself. Those of us who enjoy the polls don't ***** about other people's posts.

Just look at the number of votes those polls get. There are a significant number of users on this forum who vote in and enjoy severin's competition which he has gone to a lot of trouble to set up and organise. He is doing us all a big favour here by making the forum a bit less run-of-the-mill and boring.

So instead of whinging, why not just live and let live, and stop trying to spoil other peoples fun. Miserable gits!

Surley the Poll-thing went out of hand. But I'm pretty sure that the auther of the polls (and any further polls) is aware now, that it could be also annoying if someone is slightly crossing the line.

Like I tried to explain it above. There are several other examples which are going in the same direction. Not each of us is happy to read or see the same things again and again and again and again ......

I believe in it, that we're able to regulate us by our self and we don't need special tools.

If we need special tools, than here is my wish list:

• I want to ignore Picture postings in several Forums
• I want to ignore Postings from special users
• I want to ignore topics where I'm not interested in
• I want a word filter to define what I have to read and what not
• maybe it's possible to catalog users and put them in special category's ?

It's not realy honestly meaned but you know what I mean.

I am wondering, in the event the polls are placed in a seperate Poll area of the forum, if perhaps there will be more action on those threads than in the remaining forum? Currently there appears to be a huge interest and involvement in the poll threads, a lot of members communicating with one another and having a good time. It seems the only time there is any real desention is when people interject only for the purpose of wanting to stop the polls.

Perhaps it would be more suitable to have a seperate area in the forum as a "Help" section similar to that for Bug Reports. This could act as a sort of user manual and assistance section.
And perhaps keep peace in the family:)

I think for now it is a fad and just not continue with equal fervor, or else give more choice in the poll itself which can reduce the number of polls.

i see also regroupe several polls in one message. poll 1, poll 2, ect..... we push on the mouse for see the correspondant poll. i prepare a picture for show.

I think Alert has a good idea here, in that the number of possible choices in a poll should not be limited to 10. Severin24's 30 or so polls, for instance, are not really individual polls, but are all part of the same "knockout" competition.

So obviously if he was able to present more individual choices in each poll, there would be fewer "matches" in the competition as it were.

Anyway - the third round is coming up, which will have fewer polls than the last round, and then the semi-finals and final will be upon us. Once the competition is over, the poll count on the forum will no doubt go back to normal.
