I get your points alerte, but you're missing also one little point when talking about content. It's not what you or i like, support or think it should be, it's what it is:

This is a company statement to it's customers. It doesn't talk about Deskbabes, it talks about VG.
Since there has not been another statement from the company, other than remark that this product is softcore, that one is still valid, but has not been honored. The rest are excuses.
I don't care if there's fingering or not in VG, though it should be there now and then cause that's what the company said, but watering the product to the current state is not acceptable. Softcore is not a synonym of lame. imho.
Also, i agree with Jununger in all that he said above.
