It's just a little thought - how do the team come up with the names for the cards?

It's prompted by the latest card from Jill - "Basking Shark"! Not particularly complimentary and I can't fathom out (fathom out - geddit?) the connection.

Hehe, you only noticed that now? Imagine how we are puzzling over some cards as someone whose native language is not English. We're looking for some phrases that don't exist in our language (and obviously, as you say, also not here in English on our girls' cards). 😆

Isn't it the native English speakers on the QA team that propose card names? The occasional use of double meanings, cultural references and slang is probably a bit beyond many non-native speakers. There have been a couple, over the years, which have seemed a bit weird, maybe like a mistaken copy of another's suggestion.

I'm not sure in any language how you can think that Jill resembles the creature in the second image!

The names come from a group of Quantum Processors
Totem uses the most powerful Quantum Processors available to date.
The Image of the Outfit, along with all previous card names and images are fed into to system.

It's all based off of years of data...
all the past names and images... as a reference so a duplicate name doesn't come up.
Although it does happen... no system is perfect.

AI and Computer vision has come a long way, especially in just the last year..
And when it is based off additional input.
It gets pretty freaky how close it comes to seeming real.

In the end though, it's ultimately up to one of the Team members
to pick the name from the Quantum Processors suggestions, or use one of their own.

Just look at that seductively sinful smile, and that shark skin like outfit.

Oh here she comes
Watch out boy she'll chew you up
Oh here she comes
She's a maneater

Jill, She's a Shark ! She's a Maneater for sure...
She'll chew you up, swallow you whole, and spit you out...
Just look at that glow !
and she's Basking in it, knowing that, you'll be back for more, again and again !

She's a Basking Shark !

Makes me think of this song...

@pickle1 - I did not say that at any point, and that is why we are still puzzling over the meanings of some cards. 😉

Anyway, Jill's 'Basking Shark' riddle has been solved...😀

Sorry @SetFuego, I was not aiming that comment at you. I should have used the phrase "how one can think" rather than "how you can think".

Quantum processors??? Hmmm.

Nice try @Wyldanimal with the Hall & Oates lyrics except - the basking shark is as far away from being a maneater as possible - that big mouth is used to scoop up mainly vertebrate fish, crustaceans, for example lobsters and small shrimps.

Ha ! Technically you are correct, but maybe not take the name so Literally... 😉

go back and re-read my thoughts...

Basking is a separate thought
and Shark is a separate thought

put both thoughts together as the name of the card...

PS. I had nothing to do with naming this card...
The Name was arrived at by the collective Quantum process

but when I saw it...
that is what I thought of..

Look at her, she's a maneater - Shark...
And look at that Smile, She's glowing in the light ! - Basking

so to me, yes, Basking Shark fits well for this card. 😜

Just re-using this old thread to ask a question.

What is the relevance of the 18 in "Piggy 18", Stacy Cruz's latest card?
