If you remember exactly your username and password and letter case you used, you should be fine uninstalling/reinstalling. Make sure to click the small words in the installer "I allready have a account" and enter the login details there. If you accidently click the other and it creates a new account, you can still re-register in the softwares setting menu (cogwheel at top toolbar/advanced settings/register again) and enter the login details there.

Also you can try the "rebuild collection" button in the same settings menu that may fix it without doing any of this.
