I wasn't getting any of the new cards on my demo - until today. I made my first purchase [Lia Taylor], and new cards immediately started appearing on my carousel.

Is the flash preview the small video on the purchase dialog? If that's it, it's too small for me to get a good idea of what she looks like or how she moves. Is there a way to enlarge it that I don't know?

I can wait a bit to load a girl on the carrousel. Typically I would load 2-4 cards on the carrousel while watching one or more girls perform. I could enjoy the other shows until the new demo became available.

If I was doing some more intense shopping, I might spend 15-20 minutes selecting 6-8 cards for evaluation. By the time I was done, I would expect the first card to be available as a demo.

If about the Flash preview .. the older version looked much better imho. It was larger with a better image quality and not limited with window and if I remember correctly it showed standing, pole and taskbar clips of the same card.
If the current one can be increased, it would be a real help. Right now it's rather bothering.
Sure you can zoom in or out a bit and do some other things by right clicking on the window and checking in settings, what you want, but any changes still happen inside this tiny room.
Also haven't seen any other type of clips than just standing ones .. won't give a good overview of the girl's performance I guess.

Since the carousel is no longer discounted, how about a button on each girl's page to automatically add her to the viewer's carousel? It could maybe work on the same principle as P2P in the GUI? Would this be much work for the developers? I dunno. But might help sales, judging from some of the previous comments :)

About the current flash preview, dunno if possible, but maybe you could use instead something like your popping models tool. So whenever you are on a model's page you see her popping like this, but jumping to the taskbar to show her full outfit. The rest of the previews as normal with the demos in the software.

The flash preview is way too small, grainy, and short to get a sense of how the model moves. What I like about the new demos that used to come through the carousel was that we got to see a little about how she moved with the pole, on the task bar, etc. That is a real selling point.
Plus, the way a model moves is very important to me. If looks were the main selling point, I would just find their pictures elsewhere on the internet. VG is a very unique product in that way.

There were girls who, also, on first view I was not interested in. Then after a while, they came around on my carousel again and I was able to later see something interesting. I then purchased a few of those. I can't say exactly *why* a model moved me later and not the first or second time around, but that could not have happened without the demos.

If it was just the flash preview, I wouldn't have gone back to that model's cards at all. I'm seconding a lot of what ChaoticEvil said, but there's my input.

Oh - and I have not yet gotten any new demos/cards on my carousel. I assume it has to do with the fact that I use the Mac version and as Rex said earlier, the cards won't work on the Mac beta version yet.

@Rex I'd just as soon be able to remove and add girls to the demo carousel and wait for them to d/l so I can check out their demos. The little flash preview is too tiny. There's really no substitute for seeing a few short clips full sized on your desktop to judge whether you want a card or not.

I'm also using a Mac. I'm pretty sure I saw a new "e" card on the Carrousel, but it was only there for a few minutes. So far I've been buying the new cards from the store so they don't get a chance to appear on the carrousel. This week, I'll wait a few days and see what happens.

I can confirm when I bought one off then new cards, the others showed up in the carousel, but not all off them. So it's surely a bug. One card immediately showed "last day"?

PS: When fixing it, make sure the add a confirmation before buying a card! That's gone for some reason.

Agree with kibosh, and having the same "last days" issue with the new cards. this has surely got to be a bug.

@Rex- the functional carousel has always been one of the best features of your software, and the rest is just eye candy and little used new features. please address the issue with the new cards vanishing ten minutes after they appear. I believe snowman8360 mentioned this along with many others in previous threads! so this is a problem for a lot of your users. I agree with a lot of others, about no preview, means no buying, means less money for Totem. the microscopic preview flash in the store does not even compare to the demos on the carousel. this is a fact, Totem that many of your buyers agree on. please take or concerns seriously. especially since you compete with so much free porn on the internet. keep these unique feature of your product unique, or lose buyers. seems like a no brainer to me.

my husband and I like a lot of the new functions, but to be honest, that annoying 8 second card that pops up on the left of the screen when you click on a demo is just that, annoying, and also overkill, as there is the more useful buy it now button under the carousel already. it really is not needed when the button to buy is already there to use. thank you.

Again, the new cards aren't showing yet. Vg downloaded them as I can see in the settings menu. But not all, I missed out cards in the carousel.

flash preview is a joke, you cant tell anything about the show or a girl from it, I better check the free available pictures of the girl to get a general opinion about her, still nothing can beat the demos on carousel, since sometimes pictures arent that good but shows are awesome and vice versa

P.S. Good examples are Miela, her pictures arent that good but shows are awesome or just new released Deskbabes Ria Rodrigez card, pictures are awful but the show is really good...

We'll be working next week on fixing the issue with last days in the carrousel and we're talking about having larger flash previews and letting user add any girl to their carrousel.

I realised too late that another member had already suggested the same idea more or less. Being able to add a girl's demos to the carousel when you want to is a very useful idea. The flash previews on the girl's page become irrelevant if one can simply view their demos fullsized on the carousel :) I suggested a button link on each girl's card page to add their demos to the user's carousel to view the demo clips. Hard to do?

I don't know how the VG software is designed, but I designed a lot of software over 40 years. All the necessary functions probably exist already. I think it's just a matter of connecting the existing pieces. Adding a new button for each card would be additional work. Modifying the existing click-on-card logic would be simpler. I'd estimate 1 day of programming and unit test. Add in design reviews, documentation, independent testing and regression testing and it's probably 30-40 staff hours of effort.

Thankyou@ Dorsai6. It would seem that we agree. So come on Totem. Give us the girls as originally intended! Tiny previews will not seriously improve the sales figures. We want bigger animations! :)


Edit: Yes, the regular users know how to ***** the Carousel but it's a ***** in the ass to do it. Would be so much easier to just click a girl's card and voila! :)

The real problem is deciding how to modify the store tab on the VG application to add the "Add to Carrousel" function. There is not good solution. At present you can click on a card you don't own and open the buy dialog. You can also click on the button below the card that shows the price. Now we need to add the new feature. The simplest change to make would be to add the new button to the buy dialog. The drawback here is that it takes two clicks to add to the carrousel - one to open the dialog and one more to click the add button. A one-click solution would be to add an "Add To Carrousel" button below each card on the store tab itself. This would clutter the display and require more scrolling to see all the cards. Another option would be to replace the current buy button with the "Add To Carrousel" button, but then opening the buy dialog by clicking the card would be a "hidden" function and I don't like hidden functions. A compromise might be to make the role of the button below each card user selectable with a checkbox on the Advanced Settings tab. However, now people would have to know about that setting. Yet another choice would be to make the click on the card perform the add to carrousel function, but then this would be a hidden feature unless a note were added to the Store Tab explaining that this function existed. There are probably other options I haven't thought of. Considering, debating and selection the one to implement could easily require as much effort as the programming itself.

If it were my choice, I'd make clicking on the card the add to carrousel function and I'd add a note at the top of the tab saying "Click on a card to add it to the demo carrousel."

Designing a good user interface is a lot of work and often more work than implementing it in code. It's worth doing though. ***** users get frustrated and will abandon a product for that reason alone. Of course this isn't always true, consider Microsoft Word.

I have downloaded the newest and that fixed the problem of VG demos not running, but I still am not getting the newer demos. I am reluctant to buy before seeing a demo, but some have reported this partially fixing the problem.

Never had any problem getting the newer VG demos, just the new DB demos haven't shown up on the carousel yet. I will wait until totem gets the problem resolved before I purchase a DB card.

Buying a card will make new cards show up for a while, but not all. For example, I never saw the Abmber Cute cards in the carousel.

Vg should hurry up, or at least do a reset off all the new cards so they come back into the carousel.

Installed the new version beta 1.2.0.52 and was hoping to see all new cards popping up in the carousel but that wasn't the case. Still didn't see one those Amber Cute cards.

UPDATE: The new card from Lola Reve (0006) showed up in the carousel. So that seems good. Now hoping on a reset from the older 3K cards so they re-appear also.
