Well, Totem fellows, you closed down the old Hustlergirls site and left us with this ***** hottest topic thing that almost nobody wants or likes. Please restore the Latest topics page and also revamp it, so the "About everything else" forum doesn't shows there or in the latest 50 post page.

hmm, i don't remember 'exactly' how many posts were listed on the recent posts section on the old site... i'll take a stab at 10-11?

so after looking on the 50 last posts tab it appears that there were posts to another 9 different topics in-between your last post and the next one on this thread, placing this one in serious jeopardy of dropping into the 50 last posts section anyway.

a few nude replacement card updates or youtube link spams and the topic would then be lost in the abyss we know as the *shock* actual forum :o

on the upside, with the hottest topics in place this thread has just been on the up & up.

sure you still want to replace it with recent posts?

about the users with problems thing...

users with software issues would (or should have) posted to the problems, bugs and fixes category, i don't think their posts went unseen for that long as its 'probably' one of the sections some team members, moderators and users such as celine, sexyagent, cartref and alerte checked. If the issues weren't posted in that section it could be argued the posts deserve to go unnoticed until found and moved,

not to mention even with the recent posts on the community page they still went unanswered a lot of the time anyway.

i for one wish most people would use the forum as an actual forum rather than spamming F5 on the front page just to stay on top of things - a lot of forums have the whole 'last posts' thing but it's pretty unusual for it to be the focal point of the page.

@GeeseH CyberVixen just said almost all that i think about it. I never use the 50 last posts for starters. The hottest topics lead you mostly to the most spammed topics, not the most commented ones or relevant ones and the spam clogs the 50 latest anyway.

The old community page was friendly, you just logged in an jumped right into the debate and most relevant information, now a lot of things are lost in the shuffle. A site that provides entertainment, should not cause the users fatigue and boredom.

When a topic is relevant it pops regularly into the recent post pages, but the spam totally overpower all the other forum topics today, So the recent posts is a must and removing the Non virtuagirl related forum from the spotlight will also be helpful. This is Virtuagirl after all, not little utube town and jokeland. ;)

@Oquijan I agree with you to an extent, i just don't think getting rid of hottest topics is the answer. as far as i'm concerned spammers ruined the forum then and still are now with multiple posts of little interest. ***** louts are also paying customers yet can be forcibly ejected if having a negative impact on everybody else.

as for current debate and relevant information, as can be told by hottest topics at the moment, it's not much worse than it was before as some threads would just be bumped and drawn out for conversational purposes and believe me, it wasn't entertaining for some. as for the fatigue and boredom... i can't see replacing hottest topic with recent posts fixing that :D

re: the non vg related section... the forum would be even more stale without it with/without the spammers.

as was suggested before an option to ignore certain users/threads would be ideal, failing that it would be nice for the powers that be to 'ave a word'

I fully agree with CyberVixen and Oquijan but I also want to thank GeeseH for being the first one who named some advantages of the current system. Rex wanted a discussion so it's nice to finally have some arguments in favour of the current system. My argument is that on all other forums I know you can get a mail when something happens in an thread you are interested in so you don't need the 50 last topic to stay informed. People for example interested in the replacement cards could get a mail when new cards are added. Now they have to check the forum section to see if new works are there. With the recent forum topics they could at least see it easier. I would also like to have a feature back that was implemented in the first days of the new site and quickly removed again: The last posts of your friends.
The advantage of the recent forum topics instead of the 50 last posts is that even if I post my newest replacement cards it's only one item in the list so it leaves more room for other threads.
I never used the 50 last posts and never will. It is and always will be useless for me.

1. i'm not sure about the whole blacklisting thing and
2. i'd imagine there are a few ways around it (hopefully without a vast redesign of the current system).

personally i'm still all for an rss feed of recent posts.

yes thanks @GeeseH for a screenshot of what we want. RSS would be nice but isn't absolutely necessary. But this 2 tab design seems to work well and suit everyone. Choices for the customers is what makes a business successful.

ftr i'm perfectly o.k. with keeping it the way it is as i don't seem to have the problems that everybody else seemingly does.

i'm also of the opinion that hottest topics is actually better for new users or (barring the fact that important news isn't always as obvious as it should be) members who don't visit the forum every two minutes.

recent posts is definitely more handy for ppl who either live on the forum or are fully paid up members of the F5 crew :p

got to wonder though, 6 months down the line if nothing changed would it still be an issue? or would the old skool (dare ya to add up the post count of the members on this thread lol) make the adjustment...
