I too, am frustrated that we cannot have a better representation of Black, Asian, Latina, Laplander, & Inuit beauties dancin' for us here on VG & pokin' it over on DB's.
I understand the Totem explanations and I sorta half believe them.
I'm not into making accusations here just ejaculatin' thoughts.

Right now there are:
2 Black Babes-Felina, Krystal
4 Asians-Mai,Davon,Mitsouko,Ting
2 Mulatto(looking at least)-Dorothy Bank,Chems
1 Pacific Islander-Kayla
1 Middle Eastern ethnicity-Zafira
...on VG.

Except for Zafira they don't exactly "top the charts" nor come into the "9" level of ratings much.
There are many apparent reasons. Intolerance of Amped breasts, "skinny",not being explicit enough, etc.
In the comments I also see a lot of "inability to appreciate "darker race" (for lack of a better term)beauty", facial & body aspects & features.
This can at best be "Caucasian ethnic-centric" or at worst "raciest" in origion.
I'm not casting aspersions I'm just stating what I see.
The membership, as a whole, is more appreciative of "white" babes, as apparently most porn sites are.
So in a way, Totem make up of the site just reflects this "fact"!
I know there are many of us, liberal, progressive, "everybody is beautiful" type people , "actively" petitioning for a rebalencing of the dark/light ratio. Just not enough to "shift the balance" in favor of Totem trying a little harder to sign Black & Asian (ok,I can live without the Inuit) beauties to the site.
I'm always left wonderin' why the following doesn't happen:
Get an agent in England (CyVix, wanna part time job?)to arrange for say, 10-12 Black & Asian models to do the dance. Send a mini-team over to shoot 'em (green screen,Vid-camera,lights,Stanz,)rent a studio, shoot for two weeks...Back to Paris with 10-12 Hot babes fer our eyes! One a month for a year!!)
It seems so simple...but maybe I'm not understanding some Mega World Economy thing. Even if it's a bit expensive,(Totem guys gotta have a little spendin' cash to invest inn such products), surely for the wholistic aspect of a varied site with happier and MORE members it would be worth it!
It might be fun to create a "Commando Babe Catcher" Team headed by Cap'n Stanz!!
(Get a comic book artist to psudo-document the action ...I'd buy that to help finance the trip)

Seems everything has been tried to get this to happen by us users wanting more diversity from strikes to begging and pleading.
Wonder if reverse psychology would work in this case, seems everything else has been tried.
I'll bet if Totem were to hang out a big sign on the office that reads something like "girls wanted for filming, nothing but caucasion need apply, no diversity of any kind allowed"

Its all about marketing! I'm a "white" guy.more like shades of tan and pink.not an albino.I've seen alot of drop dead beautiful black women.And of them all, I would not mind watching them on VGHD, over and over.but on this site I have not bought a card for any (black girls) simply for the fact that the ones I've seen just didn't do anything for Me. On the same note alot of the other girls (not black) have left Me with the dicision to not buy thier cards as well.we all need choices and if we like what's up for sale,we'll buy. (if we are ala carte buyers). but,if VGHD puts the investment into a card that will not sell.is that a good investment? Hope You all get what You need and want.and if I see girls that realy turn My head,I will buy them no matter what race or colour skin.
also Ive been using VG since VG2 and like this format alot better. since Your cards are always on file to recover them when you have a crash or something else failes. So i can't join in on any strike or campain for this cause.
But I will support VGHD by buying cards that i like. no matter the race or Country the girls come from.As long as I feel thier Hot enough to entertain My eyes.

There seem to be at least two issues here. The primary one is obviously ethnic diversity, of which I would welcome more. A secondary one is the voting system, which really needs sorting out for reasons already mentioned.

I'd like to support the idea for comments on a card to only be open to those who bought it. Furthermore, only ONE COMMENT PER USER PER CARD should be allowed... Currently, you don't have to look very far to see multiple comments, which presumably skews the cards overall rating.

I have noticed new cards entering the site's collection in top spots, with high popularity ratings and very few comments. This ***** me! How can the cards be considered popular with less than twenty users? Few such cards have the staying power of Melisa's and Jana Cova's though and as time goes by, their scores tend to drop considerably. Surely, the current popularity ratings are misleading.

"Averaged" card scores could be SUPPLEMENTED with total (cumulative) scores. Cards could then be listed from lowest cumulative score on page one, to highest last. New cards would then be evident straightaway, as VGHD shows page one first. There would be no need for the current ***** by "promotional" high average scores. The highest cumulative score would really be an indicator of quality AND popularity.

It is difficult to put together a high quality, diverse collection, especially when you notice that some highly rated shows can actually look a bit ropey on close inspection e.g. at least one of Melisa's, where the focus is well off. Hopefully, my suggestion will help sort the wheat from the chaff and meet with approval!

@MoodyCat: Your concerns are sound, but there's really only one issue here, that being, Ethnic Diversity, and any others belong to a different thread !!!...:)

Yeah, misplaced gum flapping! You are of course quite right.... I was close to bed-time and must've been overcome with sugar-shock hallucinations, between intermittent bouts of consciousness involving black sheep and chaffless cake (Hehehe!).

The next brainstorm slipped out uncontrollably through my fingers: overflowing and forming into something surreal and only vaguely relevant at the keyboard. I got to blathering! C'est la vie, or something...


As to Ethnic Diversity, I wonder how much it would help sales for Totem. It may increase overheads, so there would need to be a pay-off.

I voted for the motion, but would not buy a card simply because it supported ethnic diversity. Probably, those who didn't vote for the motion are even less inclined. Therefore, any increased overheads may not be met by increased sales.

Ever notice that there seems to be a strange similarity in token ethnic types between VGHD and women's professional tennis? (i.e. chech, pole, russian mostly) ...just an observation.. maybe totem is getting their model sources from tennis? hmm...how 'bout Anna Kournakova?
