When it says a girl is "5.52" Does that mean she is 5 foot 5 inches and 2 tenths of an inch, or 5 foot 6 inches and 2 tenths of an inch (5 foot, 5/10ths of a foot which is 6 inches)? Not that it's important, I'm just curious.

the Numbers relate to the Metric system , Extrinsic, we don't measure feet and inches that way, probably like yourselves !!!

As I understand it the measurements are converted from the Metric system to Foot for the length... and from the Kilogram to Pound (advp) (lb) for weight.

No, I'm sure in European IP addresses, you're getting metric measurements (which should generally be something like 1.8 or 1.9). But here in the States there is some kind of translation going on and all the models are 5. something, or in rare cases, 6. something. What I can't figure out is whether the automatic translation is calculating it into feet/inches, or feet.10. I'll give you a few examples, and perhaps if you tell me what they show up in metric I can convert them to "American" and figure out what the conversion is.

I believe the system is in English with hundreds of an inch showing.

For example, Jana Cova is 5.25 (based on the above list).
That means she is 5.25 feet tall.
It also means she is 5 feet and 25 hundreds of a foot tall.
It also means five and a quarter feet tall.

.1 = one tenth
.2 = one fifth (or two tenths)
.25 = one quarter
.3 = three tenths
.33 = approximately one third
.4 = two fifths (or four tenths)
.5 = one half (or five tenths, or two quarters)
.6 = six tenths (or three fifths)
.67 = approximately two thirds
.7 = seven tenths
.75 = three quarters
.8 = four fifths (or eight tenths)
.9 = nine tenths

When there are two digits to the right of the decimal (.), it represents how many hundredths.
When there is only one digit to the right of the decimal, add a zero at the end and you have hundredths.



I do not know why a French-based company would use English system for measuring.

We are never sure if their age is correct or the bust measurements are right so how the hell do we know if their height is right? Perhaps this whole discussion is redundant?

Like I said, I was just curious about what the height was theoretically supposed to mean. Now I know. It's 5.5 inches on my desktop!

Of course, the next question is are we measuring that on a 15" monitor or a 20" monitor, and is it at 1024X768 VGA resolution or 1080p?

Maybe Totem has translation software that automatically adjusts the height of the model to exactly 5.5 inches no matter how big your monitor is? :)
