Create a playlist in which some cards, or clips, appear more than once. Load that into "Now Playing/Next" and tick the "Random" box at the bottom of the sidebar. Optionally tick the "Repeat" box (most useful if you have only preselected a small number of cards).
The important parts of this are what you have in the "Now Playing/Next" area (which you can either populate by loading one, or more, playlists or by ***** cards or clips directly to it) and enabing random play via the "random" tickbox.
Also remember that you can select multiple cards and ***** them all to the "Now playing/Next" area or to a playlist so you could use Control-A to select your whole collection (or all of a filtered view of it) and ***** that to the Next area and then add any cards you want to play more often, possibly using a preselected set of "favourites" in a playlist or possibly all or part of some differently filtered view of your collection. You could load some cards, clips or playlists twice, some three times, some ten times if you want to.
Doing it this way is a bit clunkier than using the old favourites mechanism, but is far more flexible
