In case you are not aware:
When you Purchase a card, you get to keep the previews from that card. they are not removed after you make the Purchase.

I know that, but I think we watch demos above all BEFORE buying cards, so it would be more useful for the upper level customer to keep the right to store them and then compare them, just as it is now.

Maybe, however I can see the argument from both sides and have to agree with Totem on this one. People are abusing the unlimited previews so something had to be done.

However, from the P2P side if a user deletes all their preview clips for bought shows (some do) then the variety of cards shared will affected by the 12 card limit.

@Rex maybe the limit for people with P2P disabled could be capped at 12 and people with P2P sharing enabled 24 cards? Just my thoughts on the matter

@goldiecharleston Sure I agree with you that if people are abusing the unlimited previews something have to be done. That's the reason I proposed to limit the previews for the free users and let them stay for Platinum ones and above: the ones who, buying many cards, proved that they don't ***** the system.

problem is, where do you draw the line? you may have platinum and above members who download a large number of new card previews but don't buy for whatever reason right away and then forget about the card entirely.

At least a preview expiry may encourage them to consider purchasing quicker or delete them if not interested and find another card to preview instead (which is more likely to end in a purchase).

I may be wrong, as I only did limited testing with my Test account.
but from what I saw, the demo clips still reside on your HDD, you just no longer have rights to play them after they expire.
They were not automatically deleted.

So you get them for a duration of time, then they expire. But the downloaded clips still reside on the HDD.
this helps with P2P.

Now lets say your Demo's have already expired, and you purchase the card.
Since the demo clips are still on your HDD, this should save some DL time and bandwidth, as they are already there.

If you are asking for Demos with NO expiration, I can't see how this will help Totem make a Profit?
I believe that was why a more detailed explanation was requested.
Why do you need to have unlimited Demo's with no expiration?

I'll try to explain myself with a question then. With the new system, one customer downloads a demo, decides not to buy the card, and the preview expires: if then, let's say, some months later he thinks he could buy that card and he would like to see the demo again, it will possible to get the rights to play that demo again or not?

I never buy a card without watching its preview first. Many times I bought a card whose demo i downloaded months earlier - and had to watch the demo again before making a decision. For my user habits, it's absolutely normal. With the new system, If demos expire forever, I think I will buy way less cards.

Moreover, I started to buy cards just when, and because of, demos got unlimited with the release of Istripper. Now I am a Platinum member. So, at least in my case, the system was profitable for Totem.

@WA that is sadly disappointing and you are correct, I've just checked and found some.

@Rex , please take this into serious consideration as you will annoy a lot of loyal and new customers otherwise.

expiring demos should be automatically removed from the HDD. if there are no rights to play after a certain amount of time, I personally feel it is categorically wrong/taking the ***** to expect users to continue to host content they cannot access themselves.

So accordingly, I will from now on apply the same logic and remove them, restrictions can and will work both ways.

I'm a Mac user, so I can't try this new beta, but the time-out on demos concerns me. Normally, I download a demo and make a buy decision within a few hours. In this case the demos are not an issue for me. However, sometimes I want to reconsider a card I did not buy many months ago. Will I be able to see that demo? If I can't, I probably won't buy the card.

@Dorsai6 - it is no longer a beta release and has been rolled out publicly as the latest Windows build for all to use. I've just cleaned up my notebook's storage folders and will attack the desktop later. Worthwhile exercise, I have a simple spreadsheet to keep tabs on what should/shouldn't be there so can quickly purge any unwanted data once in a while.

@v24257546 and @Dorsai6 I totally agree with both of you. I buy much more cards as the system is right now (playing demos at will), and especially true for past cards. If a card seems interesting to me and I can't see the demo to make a decision, I won't buy it. By the time its demo become available, either I won't be interested anymore or I won't be there when it comes out.

sounds for me like the old system from vghd with the carousel...
never liked the old system. i had to write the cardnumber down after i watched the preview so i could buy the show some time later.
often i didn't buy the shows later because i had no glue wether the show was good or not...
when i have no credits, then i don't want to charge my account just for this one show...

well that was nice of Windows scheduled Defrag, it decided my notebook's external USB 3 mechanical HDD needed trimming for some reason and the result was fubar file system information folder with a plethora of 'found' files. Suffice to say, it needed scrapping and starting again because it would have taken hours to resolve if entirely possible. So as I was sorting out the desktop as well, I've just copied the content across from that and will use 1080p on both machines from now on as the download setting.

I've disabled the defrag service altogether after that mess and will use a third party tool instead I know won't do the same

@Carbo, @Dorsai6 and @0d1n, thanks for your insights.

I agree with you, and think that the demos' expiration is bad for the loyal customer, and against Totem's purposes too, because it will get many of us buying way less cards.

That is particularly true for older cards, and I'll give an example about discounts too.

In september Totem offered many discounted cards. Many of them were cards whose demos I already had in my device; it took me some time to watch again the previews, but in the end... I bought the most of them. With expired previews, instead, I probably wouldn't have bought any of those cards.

Another point is that, rather obviously, the most people abusing the preview system are among the free users.

So, I still am convinced that such limits should apply just to new users and low level members.

My own habit, as a Platinum one, is: the more demos I can watch, and compare, and store on my device, and watch again later, the more cards I buy.

We need to be able to combine categories in the filters for the girls store page. Same as we can in our collection.
So we can further refine our search for certain types of girls and shows when we're looking for cards to buy.

The way it is right now, it seems that I can only choose one category at a time in the filters on my girls store tab in the GUI.
If I want to search for trimmed skinny girls with tiny tits wearing high heels, I'm ***** out of luck.
If I'm not searching through All the girls, I can only search for trimmed girls, search for skinny girls, search for girls with tiny tits or search for girls wearing high heels........
One at a time.

If I only had a hand full of cards at the time and was looking for that type of stuff, it would take forever to search each one, make a list of the results and compare them all to come up with what I'm looking for.
That defeats the purpose of having the filters to begin with.
It's suppose to make things easy.
Is it not ?

Just sayin'

Re: If I want to search for trimmed skinny girls with tiny tits wearing high heels, I'm ***** out of luck.

Is this a new limitation of 1.2.132? I'm using the latest Mac beta and I can do this search. In my collection 9 out of 1575 cards meet all 4 criteria.

@Dorsai6 He was talking about the Girls store that has no way to select multiple criteria as opposed to the collection page. I don't know why they didn't replicate the same selection scheme as in the collection, a marketing reason I suppose, but what would be the purpose of doing that?

@Rex Since we can't display previews or filter only previews anymore in my collection page, we can no longer use the collection filter to do this kind of search for previews. But unloaded previews were never showed in the collection page, as opposed to the Girls store, so this multi-selection filter would be useful in there.

I stand corrected: the 'Previews' part of the store is in fact those that the user has downloaded. I was thrown by not realising how many I'd evidently downloaded and then not deleted (some of which I didn't even recognise!).

However, it's not at all obvious which Previews are recent and which are older. The current sort options only include 'Name', 'Card Number', 'Rating', and 'Card Release Date'. An additional option of 'Preview Download Date' would be useful: it would make it far easier to find a card of recent interest, as personal taste is rarely driven by position on any of those criteria. This is particularly important in the context of Weekend Sales and the like, where time is a factor in Card price or even availability.

@ajmsnocomment There's nothing else but previews in the store, so the cards that have a "Preview" sticker on them are downloaded, and those with nothing on them are also previews but are not downloaded. Sometimes they are already downloaded but they're not listed as such in the software, some bugs I suppose. If you have no cards without "Preview" sticker, it means that all previews are downloaded.

I think you want to delete a preview card.
In the Girls Store, go to the card that you want to delete. Each card with a preview sticker is in your preview collection. Move the mouse over this card and an X is displayed. Click on this X and the card is no longer a preview card.

Is this a bug or intentional that the software always starts with "Progressive hotness" enabled in Desktop settings? Most of the time I don't set "Show duration" to "All clips" so when progressive hotness is enabled, it will most likely never play explicit shows.

Is there a way to reverse the display of this forum, I mean in reversed chronological order. Everytime I have scroll down to the bottom of the first page, then select the last page and then scroll down again to the bottom to read the last message. Impressive !!!

Am I missing something here, or is this really how it should work? Usually forums are displayed chronologically in reversed order, or have a way to reverse the chronology. It wouldn't be a 'spoiler alert' to see the end first, it's not a movie !! Also when refreshing a page, we shouldn't have to scroll down again to the bottom.

For the moment, we should at lease have a page selection at the top and the bottom of the page, to avoid this unnecessary scrolling.

Is it correct that this new release is for Windows only? The announcement didn't seem to say, so I downloaded the link, installed it, but seem to have the identical functionality as before. It'd be nice if release announcements could specify the platform to avoid this ***** effort / bandwidth. And it'd be nice if Windows and Mac versions could be released at the same time.

@Carbo agree !
Even if you use 'off-the-shelf' ~do it yourself style~forum software, you usually have the option to show latest posts in a thread first. We do not / never have had , that option here in our iStripper settings.
The other really annoying thing is the Link hypertext at the bottom of each post still does not work, and you cannot link direct to a relevant post anyhow. When it did work, it took you only to the beginning of the thread page. No wonder mods still use the web based old forum with multi-tabs. How else are you meant to find relevant link hypertext to help someone without leaving the thread you are in.?

Yes it Did, I'm using Chrome as my Browser, and all I did was click the "LINK"
saw a popup, copied to clipboard..
then pasted it...

presently, there is no Reverse Chronological order setting.

And I too have asked for the Page Navigation controls to be included at the top of the page as well.
