Whoo! Just got Sapphire, and very impressed to see Totem have got the emails going out to congratulate you on the new appropriate level and award you the ten extra credits. Good work!
Looks like there's still a bit of tweaking of the text involving forum thread access for the Sapphire and Ruby levels but I guess that's because those new forum features haven't been set up yet.

Will we need to update our software to reflect the changes or is it still in the Works?
Got a Sapphire Star on here but the software still says VIP.
UPDATE: I updated the software and nothing changed so I guess this is still in the works newest software is a May release.

I'm sorry, if this has been addressed, already, but is the star system based on the TOTAL number of BOTH VirtuaGirl AND DeskBabes cards?

I can't say I'm so keen on this one, it makes the levels a bit too much the same, those jems need a dash of shiny colour to make them sparkle!
