Hi I have done a complete reload of my operating system and do not have any of my models and VG installed on my computer. I recently bought an external hard drive and wonder how to go about installing directly onto the external hard drive and play it from there. I kind of looked up some answers and forums and saw mostly how to transfer vg and models from computer to external hard, but didn't see much on how to directly download it straight to my external hard drive. any help is appreciated. ty.

@wdawg. If you don't have your models files on your computer any more, is make sure you have v number and password written down.

Then do a complete uninstall of vg and db if you have that. Make sure you are connected to the internet.

Now do what you have to do to connect your external drive.

Then redownload Vg but selecting the path for your external drive and then entering your v number and password when asked if you want a new account or have an existing account.

Sorry, I guess I missed this one..
Click on HELP near the top of the screen.
Then Click on Customer Service..
Choose Software
Choose how do i change Destination ......
Follow the Instructions.

once you Install to an External Drive / Different path, this becomes the path for All new Downloads..

I do not have vghd or the models installed on my computer at all it is all completely un-installed I am doing a fresh install but want it directly on my external hard drive when i trie3d to install it to my external drive E. it still installed a folder on my normal internal drive. So i was curious if there was a way to directly download it to my external. I appreciate your responses. I guess as a last resort if i have to install 1st onto my eternal normal hardrive 1st then transfer to external HD I will but was wondering if i could do it directly?

also in the instructions from customer service where it says make a new directory. Is that meaning just create a new folder and name it vghd?

Would someone please explain how to move my model list to an external drive?
I've tried following the instructions but they are out of date (circa 2012) or very unclear. I'm not a PC expert, so I just need easy-to-follow instructions.
I've tried requesting help from the Help Desk but no one has replied.
As things stand, I'm a diamond member but I've run out of space so I basically can't use a lot of the cards I've got. Surely, there's a proper system for resolving this problem, which must affect many users?
