One important question. I am afraid I have to my VGHD to another computer, I want not to lost my collection. So I think I have to uninstall program from the first computer - Am I right?
If anybody can help me - it'll be fantastic, because I like my collection.
Best wishes from Gdansk.

The answer is it depends. It depends what you want to do.

You can install VGHD on the second computer. Stop it (and the downloader ) as soon as it is installed. Delete the model.lst file from the data folder.
Copy (via memory stick, DVD, network, etc) all the files from your models directory to the new installation. Restart VGHD and it should detect (and not download all the models). (I am not convinced that this will work with 1.0.2.0 or 1.0.2.1 installations of VGHD).

I did this from XP to Vista without any problems.

NOTE: You are only licensed for two machines. If you already have two installations this will not work. You will get the too many active installations message. If you do have to move... you can copy the models folder before performing the uninstall (the uninstall will delete the folder!)

Note: Whatever you do, you don't have to buy the cards again for the second computer. The worst is that they download again.

I just made a 150 Gb dedicated disk partition for VGHD this weekend. Moved all the data/model/Bonus photo/video/user art files there.

I shouldn't have to mess with it again for at least a year or more I think.

Just installed 2x 1 Tb drives (mirrored pair) this past week. Might have gone a little overboard with the partitioning I think.

Still reorganizing and moving files but at least I can pull the 3 "small" drives out later tonight... ;)

Yes, my PC is ridiculous.

Well, I took out 2x 200 and 1x 300 (the three that are listed as "Unallocated" in the pic above).

The 1 tb drive was mirrored and I decided to break the mirror so now there's two of them listed.

So there's 8 disks instead of 11 now. 4.4 Tb total:
3x300 Gb
3x500 Gb
2x1 Tb

Stuck the 3 disks I pulled in usb housings to use for backups and stuff.

The water cooling radiator is in the living room where the central air intake is. This way I can close my door at night _AND_ leave my computer on without waking up in a sauna.

Just one clarification:

You need to copy the entire VGHD data directory, not just models sub directory. so you need both:
  • VGHD\Models
  • VGHD\Data

folders
