If the data on the external drive is slowly approaching to full (300 GB free with 4 TB available) can it be transferred to a second external drive? Is it possible that the istripper program has a meringue divided on 2 disks simultaneously? Is the only way to reduce the amount of data by reducing the data of some shows from 3K to 1080p or deleting those shows or scenes that are less interesting to your taste?

@henrylee7

Yes it can be transferred to a second drive, or you can split your collection over multiple drives. I keep some on my laptop's internal disc and most on an external drive that way I still have access to my favourites and the latest shows even when travelling.

Hi @henrylee7

As @TheEmu said, you can split over several drives - simply go into Settings, scroll down to "Data", click on "change folder" and you can then add further folders.

Additional note: I am looking at my local computer retailer and they are selling external HDDs that are 6 to 10 tB so that is another option.

Looking at the total number of cards i did not realize that there was 4 TB worth of shows available to download. Seems that there are less than 2500 3K to 4K cards. Anyone know what the total amount of space is required to download every show at the maximum possible resolution?

Not having a system capable of driving a 3k or 4k screen I only have 1080 or lower resolution clips. even so my models folder occupies almost 3TB with over 0.5 TB more for the bonus pictures and videos. If there are something like 2500, actually just over 2300, shows available I could upgrade more than half my collection which would then easily exceed 4TB even if I only went to 3k.

I'm on an 8 TB external disk... still have some space but with a collection of +4800 cards (including the 480p classic) I'm also closing in on 4 TB ... and that's only the files for the cards. I have a separate disk where I save the Bonus material.

And... YES! I have two separate disks for backup 😎

All cards on this PC is kept at the highest resolution possible. I have a second PC where I have the 1080 P version. Those cards take up about 2.9 TB.

This is also important to know.
When you have your Collection Split between Multiple Drive Locations,
The Software uses the Drive with the Most Available Space to Download the New Cards to.

I have experienced this a few times.
I got a spare drive and Moved my Collection from my Internal HDD to the Spare drive.
But then
My Internal HDD now had the most Free Space
and all new Cards were going to the Internal HDD again.

This also Happened when I had Two External Drives
The New Cards were going to the other drive.

My Solution was an Advanced one.

Export the Totem System Branch
The System Branch has the Path Key values in it.
Edit the export so it only has the ModelsPath and ModelsMultiPath keys.
For a single Drive I edit so only the ModelsPath has a Path, and the ModelsMultiPath is blank.
For Multiple Drives then, ModelsMultiPath has all of the paths.

I made a copy of the Registry when all drives were included in the Path.
I made a copy of the registry with Only the Drive I wanted to use was in the Path.
I had a couple of these, one for each drive. So I could select which one to use.

I renamed these edited registry files
IS-G-Drive.reg
IS-K-Drive.reg
IS-I-Drive.reg
IS-ALL-Drives.reg

Before Starting iStripper
I would Load the Copy of the registry for the drive I wanted to use.
( to Load a saved Registry, you Double click on it )
Then Start iStripper
Then download the New cards and they would go to the drive that I selected.

Hope this gives some ideas of how Multiple drives can be Managed,
and to control on which drive the New Downloads
will go.

And most important, Always have a Backup of your Collection.

As @wyldanimal says new downloads go to the drive with most space,

My solution is simply to move them after downloading, you can use the windows file explorer to do this though I use Beyond Compare.

Also, if you do spread them over two or more disks the system will still work if you dismount one though obviously you will not be able to play cards from the unmounted disk. I use this to ensure that new downloads go to my laptop's internal drive and I only move them off that when I want more space there - though after downloading I almost immediately back them up to the main external drive and then to that drive's own backup drive.

I end up with the program, its data folder and a "small" models folder (containing the newest cards and my favourites) on the internal drive, everything on the external drive (including a copy of what is on the internal drive) and a backup of that on a second external drive.
