It's funny you say that because that's how minorities are always viewed. There are over 300 white girls on virtuagirl, and like 30 'ethnic' (another term I find offensive; aren't caucasians an ethnicity too?) girls. By random chance, wouldn't you expect them to fall somewhere in the middle? Don't you think it's demanding to expect them to be rated among the top 30 when there's only 30 of them? Maybe if there were 200 'ethnic' girls, then yes. But there's not.

jddisotell, the ratings, as most people not working for or owning Totem agree, are pretty inaccurate because non card-owners can rate at will.

The 2 black girls here are ranked low for no good reason. Krystel and Felina.

The 2 asian girls bad rated here are awesome performing. Ting and Mitsouko.

The asian Kayla is delightful, and the rating is not that bad.

The asian Mai is one of the top girls in here.

Most of this is blamed on the rating system: anyone can rate a card even if they haven't bought it. This is seen as a bad thing but I disagree. If only people who had the card could rate it then the only people who rate the cards are people who already liked the girl (otherwise they wouldn't have bought the card) or people who got it as part of a subscription. With anyone being able to rate any card then people who don't like it, for whatever reason, can express that without having to waste tickets.

Which brings up the most important point: which types of women to hire should be based on what types sell the most cards. And only Totem truly knows that. This comparison of ratings is pointless without that info.

Many of the "OuterEuropeanWomen" (smile) listed here are working or have worked in Europe as models/strippers when they were shot for VGHD. I agree 2 black girls low rating is not something that you can do some statistics on.
The black / asian girls are not that high promoted either.
If for example Felina gets stuck in the middle of all cards then chances are her cards is not found easily.
The highest rated card gets more higher ratings because of its previous high rating and for being on the first page.
Some highrated card is also offered for 1 ticket often then others wich also makes statistics difficult to make something out.
Is the highrated-card great or is it voted on because it is conviniently close and cheap??

For those who commented that the reason for lack of diversity is strickly a business decision by Totem in that they just want to produce cards that give maximum profit. In response I suggest that this is not necessarily good business practice. As example, the big department store that sell some product at a loss just to get customers through the door as they will likely buy other things. Also known as "loss-leaders" sell some things at a loss and get them in the door. Now for my example: My preference is black girls so before joining VG I searched the models and saw that there were some black girls (particularly my darlin' Krystel). I joined VirtuaGirl intending to just purchase the cards of black girls and that would be it. However, once Totem lured me through the door of the candy store I have accumulated 299 cards of various girls. Am I the only one? or would it be good business practice for Totem to have more girls of varying degree of pigmentation of eyes,hair and skin?
