It seems that a useful fix might be to prevent multiple identical posts being made in quick succession.

Well while we're at it... forum posts should still be editable and delete-able after the page's been refreshed. Kinda *****..

Just posting in case people do not know, there was a restriction built into the old forum that should have been copied across to the new to specifically prevent people from editing their own posts, AFTER someone else has posted.

You can edit your post so long as no one else has posted.

This was done to stop people starting a war of words and then going back to their original post to edit to remove the offending comments, making the subsequent posters look bad. This was happening quite a few years ago, so therefore newer members may not have been aware of this.

Just posting for purely information purposes only as I am not aware of anyone trying to do this currently.

Cheers & beers

Not exactly. There is one more restriction:

You can delete or edit your message only within an hour and until no one has answered the topic yet.

@Wuzthis,

You kind of had to be there at the time to understand why it was necessary.

Built-in playlist manager. I understand there's a 3rd party addon, but it won't work for me, and I'm not sure if it's even current. I'd rather it just be a built-in feature.

Other than I enjoy the product. I'd enjoy it more and invest more into it if I could get these features.

@DrVB

It is not clear what you mean by the "Playlist feature". The program does have a perfectly workable built-in playlist feature via the "Now Playing" and "Playlist" tabs on the righthand side of the iStripper window. The external programs provide more powerful ways of generating and maintaining playlists, but are only really useful if you have a large collection.

For scenes that select a random background you can already control which backgrounds will be used. Go to the Fullscreen page of the iStripper GUI and hover your mouse pointer over one of these scenes you will see a small cogwheel icon and if you click on that icon you will be shown what backgrounds are available for the scene and you can enable or disable as many as you want.

For all scenes the main performer is taken from any playlist that is active and you can set up one before starting the scene, or just ***** a card to the Now Playing slot on he Now Playing sidebar when it is open. If you have two screens and play the scene on one screen and have the GUI open on the other you can even ***** a card to Now Playing while the scene is in progress and cause it to switch to using the new card.

Add the functionality for tags created by the community
Multiple Full size models
Fix the swing issue on multiple monitors
Allow to play previews only (I like the quick previews even though I own the show)
Easier way to create/manage playlists

According to your settings we can have a maximum of 10 girls playing at a time. But even 5 girls slows my system to a crawl. I have an industrial strength computer which runs commercial software like Visual Studio fine
So your software is not designed properly and is leaking memory

@mcp111 - I do not have "an industrial strength computer" only an 8 year old lap top. It handles 10 girls playing at once, at the maximum size setting, with no problems.

Secondly, the option to view your own posts is already provided and is accessible as part of your "Profile" via the head and shoulders icon in the iStripper application's title bar. You can also get to it by clicking on your own avatar in the forum - just as you can see all the posts by anyone else by clicking on their avatar.

I would like to know what is a industrial strength computer and how it is diffrent from consumer grade. I work for a RF testing chip manufacturer and they use regular Core i5 and Core i7(before and around Sandy Bridge-Maybe Ivy Bridge) in the test stations. Hell some of the non testing computers only have a cheap Celron in them and it shows. Click email shortcut, waits 2 mins with hour glass turning. Glad I get paid by the hour.

@mcp111 - further to my previous post. i have just run iStripper displaying 10 girls for 3 hours while simulatneously using my laptop to watch a DVD and monitoring the memory usage continuously. Everything ran flawlessly. Although the memory usage was perhaps a little high it only varied by a few percent during the whole of that time depending on the size of the clips being played and was actually slightly lower at the end than just after the start. So there was no sign of any memory leakage.

Re: Performance issues

I run iStripper on a 2013 Mac Pro (3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5 with AMD FirePro D700 GPU). There have always been performance problems on the Mac going back to the VG software. iStripper made them worse. Running one card at 40% on a 4K display takes 70-80% of CPU. Trying to run 10 cards with the same setting takes 350-410% of CPU and it takes 5+ minutes before 8 or 9 appear and I never get to 10. With 8-9 cards one or more will often freeze for an extended period and it can take more than a minute befor iStripper to recognize a mouse click on a card.

Re: Performance issues

I run iStripper as stated in a previous post on a laptop. It has a four core i7 clocked as 2.3Ghz. Ten clips played in desktop mode on a 1920x1080 display use about 40% of the CPU. This is under Windows 10. If the Mac version is significantly worse on a more much more powerful system then there is something seriousy wrong either with the program or the system it is running on.

I just rebooted my Mac Pro. With only iStripper running I was able to get to 10 girls at a time in about 1-2 minutes. At first they were hesitating, but after 2-3 more minutes all 10 began running smoothly. Activity monitor reported 700-800% CPU. From what I've learned, one CPU is half a core and I have a 6-core processor. With 10 girls at once mouse latency is about 3-4 seconds.

As a second experiment, I ran iStripper on my MacBook Pro which has a 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7. I set it to run 10 girls, but only 5 appear and I'm seeing 266% CPU. Only iStripper was running.

Both computers are running OSX 10.13.4

My Mac Pro has a lot of software installed and there could be application conflicts. The MacBook Pro on the other had has pretty vanilla software.

I think there is a Mac-related performance problem with iStripper.

Add a way to have a different zoom level automatic adjustment for playing standing clip, and table ones, without having to go to the option so the model don't have her head cut standing after i watch her more zoomed on a table clip.

More details about your computer would be helpful. It would also be useful to know if any unusual applications were running at the same time. Are you playing 3K cards? Do you have the same problem with 1080p cards? What makes you think there is a memory leak?

@mcp111 - this is the second time that you have said that playing 5 girls slows your "industrial strength" computer to a crawl and that there is a memory leak. The most probable explanation for even 5 girls slowing you down is that either your PC is too weak either because it is a low end machine or you are running, perhaps without knowing it, too much other stuff at the same time. Others of us, with what are quite low spec systems can run 10 girls at once and still use our computers for other thing. As a direct result of your previous post I ran 10 girls at the maximum size while watching DVD and as i reported ealier the memory usage hardly varied at all during that excercise. This was on an old 2.3 GHz machine, so it was by no means a high end system.

@Dorsai6 brought this up in a thread recently. The Mac version has the clip name listed when a clip based playlist is used. In the windows version we don't see this. Can you please take a look at this and fix it for us.

Don't know if this has been mentioned previously but how about:

If a card needs an update, instead of the software "greying out" the card while downloading the update and losing the ability to play that card until the update completes, have the software download the update to a temp file and only replace the active card once the whole update has downloaded and been verified complete.

In recent past I have had several occasions where a card needs updated for whatever reason. Then sometimes when I click the software to allow it, there ends up being a problem with the update or servers or whatever and then that card is dead to me until I either restore it from a back up or Totem figures out what the problem is and fixes it.

Katrina Moreno's card that needed an update today did that to me several times this morning before I finally got the whole thing finished this afternoon.

Not everyone keeps backups of their cards and this could avoid some frustration and complaints about losing the ability to play a card due to incomplete update issues.
