they are working on it as hard as they can, but before anything will be released even as a beta, Totem will want to run it through the QA Team first.

Do you want a REALLY buggy program, as we have had before or a stable beta that can be tested by those with enough experience & patience to do so.

i say jan 29th 2016 will be a good time 4 the new beta what do u think.?????????? thats on a friday.

From my point of view, releasing a new version on a Monday makes way more sense.

I will not more so often take pleasure from “this month will be release beta version of new version”.

I remember an old VGHD beta that crached and ***** users to whipe their computer and reinstall windows... I go with Cartref on this on. Let the Team have the time to come up with a stable and well tested closed beta before release to the public. I'm in no mood to have my computer crash once more because of VG 😛

Yes, please let them take as long as they need. The amount of whining that I've read in here about waiting for the new release is nothing compared to what'll happen if a buggy version is released. We've seen that happen before (sorry Totem Team, but it's true).

I'll chime in with those who want a flawless version of Virtuagirl. I remember one developer that tried to push a game for release too early, but the beta testers demanded that the release of the game be delayed until they could fix all the bugs and make it playable and stable enough for all users because the bugs in beta test were very deep and widespread. So they pushed the release back to 2016 1st quarter so they could fix the game and it's bugs. and that game is Rollercoaster Tycoon World.
Moral of the story, good things come to those who wait.

I agree with everyone else about having a more stable version be released for alpha/beta, but I would like to hear an update on its progress. Rex last said they were entering alpha in two weeks, and that was a month ago.

I guess its one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't if their progress isn't where they thought it would be. I can understand that, but I would like to hear an update one way or the other.

Everyone please keep in mind that when the Beta is released for member testing that it will be a Beta Test Version and issues can be expected. Hopefully not many though. One of the main purposes for the beta testing is to test on as many computer configurations as possible so as to find any potential issues that need fixing.

All I care about is that you fix the ***** slow downloader and fix is so it doesnt screw up so much. Sorry and I don't mean to be rude, but I haven't even bothered to download the many models Ive purchaced because its just too slow and not worth the time to babysit it. I wouldn't mind if when it breaks a download that it auto corrects itself, but it doesn't. It leaves broken show parts and once a download fail, it seems to simply move on to a new card.

I wish you guys would simply allow downloading shows in zips or as self installers that verify the account legitamacy (if piratesa are what you worry about) or somthing cause this current system is terrible.

Can't say that my Download experince is the same as yours.
In General.
1) I always turn P2P OFF when downloading a Bought Card, and leave it On to Get the demos.
2) I do my downloading late in the evenings.
3) I manually control my downloads. all auto download options Off. I Only select 5 to 10 cards at a time.

Sure, sometimes a card will error out..

I go to that cards models folder, Delete anything that looks out of sorts.
then I find the card in my collection and right click the trash can and check for Updates.
It will skip over whats already there and only download whats missing.

My DL speeds are usually close to what my ISP bandwidth is.
Note: Totem reports speed in BYTES/sec while isp is in bits/sec.

Thats a lot of work to have to do for somthing that should just work though, I download at 3/5 MB sec, right now its sitting there doing absolutly nothing (0 speed) every once in a while it will download a card image (as I dont have images for all my purchaced cards yet in my collection)

Wasn't there a way to change servers? I think there used to be?

Man I don't have the download experience EITHER of you have. I've had 5+ cards going at once. They downloaded quickly and without issue. In instances where for whatever reason I've lost my connection the download picks up right where it left off and this is with P2P on. I wonder if it's a speed issue. I can download files at 12 megabytes a second.

I do hope they fix the issues you guys are both having though.

Yes, you can still change between US and EU servers. In the Edit Profile area of My Account.

Do you have all the auto downloads turned off and they're still trying to download automatically ?

I had a good chat with a guy who installs internet a couple of years ago who explained to me how bandwidth, re: internet works.

He told me this: All ISP's are limited by how much bandwidth they lease from THEIR providers.
Depending on how big the original owners are, or their subsidiaries, we get what the subsidiaries are allowed to use.

Eg: In Spain, Telefonica is the biggest service provider. They rent out space (bandwidth) to multiple companies (ISP's) and then these subsidiaries rent out bandwidth to other 3rd or 4th parties.

Eventually, depending on what you pay for, your promised 50 Mb connection could drop to 1 Mb if the bandwidth is overloaded at a given time. Not much you can do about it but wait till there are fewer users online :(

My own connection could be flying one day or totally stalled the next. DON'T blame Totem all the time. It may be your own ISP and/or connection that's slowing down. Trust me, I've tested this to extremes!

how about some new desk babes with a little more explicit action. that would be nice. what happened to the 3k cards. im not getting any 3k demos for desk babes what gives man

So, when it's released soon, you should no longer have that problem

I understand what you are saying, but that is not an issue with me, but thanks fort the feedback :)

One glaring issue I have noticed is if for whatever reason, if a connection is lost, even for a second, nothing will happen, the program will come to a compleate halt unless you quite the program and restart, This is not normal as I have not had this issue with anything esle I download with. I think they need a system so that if a connection is broken in anyway, it retries the connection. Many people have Wifi, and though this is not a common issue, it does happen now and then, its wifi.

Anyway, I'm trying to keep interest in this, espesially since they got Maria Ryabushkina to be a part of this, but I'm not gonna buy new cards until I have downloaded the ones I already bought.

Im sorry but its a terrible download system, let us download the stuff we buy in zips, that way things like IDM can download whole shows in a few minutes, it would only be the raw files so I don't see how that can be of any worth to pirates considering people could just upload the raw files now after downloading them, espesially since you need the software that checks everything anyway. would make life with this software so much simpler, plus you would know that you got all the correct files in tact, unlike the broken files you seem to get now.

Be thankful guys for the speed that you get. Down in the land of OZ, the best speed I get is 300 KB and as Hombre said, its not a Totem issue.

I spoke with Lezardo from the team a week or two ago and he was asking my feedback on the change in servers.

When I told him about my speed, he checked my connection from Totems's end and all was fine, the slow download speed is a local issue outside of Totem's control.

Sometimes life just sucks 😢

Interesting idea! I believe the new V4 will change the way we download tho. Rex has said that it will incorporate the downloader into the software itself, rather than the existing, external downloader, to eliminate false positives on virus/malware checkers. We shall have to wait and see how well it works ;)

That linking ***** happens when you copy paste a member's name from above their post. Not really a good feature, IMHO. You should then go back and remove the linking by highlighting the name and clicking on the unlink icon. If you don't do that and keep typing, it creates a long winded link to the member's profile. There were three links in that post. Each to Hombre's profile.
