Hi,

What are example of cards which are in 3k?
Besides, can some explain what does 3k means (compared for example to 1080p)?

Thanks.

There are no 3k resolution cards yet. And I do not know what 3k actually is except it is a higher res than 1080.

well, 3k means 3000px (k stands for kilo) so it's a lot more than 1080

In computer terms,
3K stands for a Screen Resolution of
2880w x 1620h 16:9 = 4,665,600 Pixels

1080p or Full HD is
1920w x 1080h 16:9 = 2,073,600 Pixels

720p or HD is
1280w x 720h 16:9 = 921,600 Pixels

For VG, the Size of the Clip is Determined by the Height in Pixels.
a 720p clip will be less than 720 pixels in height
a 1080p clip will be less than 1080 pixels in height
a 3K clip will be less than 1620 pixels in height

How tall with the Clips Be?
You can get an approximate idea
If you subtract 80 pixels for the Height of the task bar
and then Expect the Clip to use about 90% of the usable window height.

you get approx clip sizes of:
720p clips
720 - 80 = 640 x 90% = 576

1080p clips
1080 - 80 = 1000 x 90% = 900

3K clips
1620 - 80 = 1540 x 90% = 1386

These are just approximations.
Because different models are Taller or Shorter,
their clip heights will vary accordingly.

Please note.. Screen Size is the Resolution, Not How BIG it is Physically.

An Example is 1080p HD TV sets..
you can have an HD TV that is 24" and an HD TV that is 60"
They are both Full HD TV's...

But Both are the Exact same resolution, Full HD or 1920w x 1080h resolution..

The Difference is:
that the 24" screen has a smaller Dot Pitch, or Higher Pixel Density.
The Size of 1 pixel is very small...
so Small you have to Get Really closes to see them.

for the 60" screen, it has a BIG dot Pitch, or Low Pixel Density.
The Size of 1 Pixel is very big.
So big you can see them as tiny squares on the screen.

on Which Screen do you think VG would look better?
More Crisp?
Less blocky?
Better Focused?

Yes, the Smaller 24" screen will look a Whole lot Better, because of the smaller pixels size.

Not if I'm sitting 10 or more feet across the room from my 60" HD TV, like I should be. Running VG through my Wi-Fi connection on my home network.

Just saying that the sharpness, blockiness, etc is not JUST related to the screen size and the pixel size, but also being the proper viewing distance away for the size of the screen (in inches...not pixels).

Yes Agreed, at the proper viewing distances the big pixel size tends to blend together..

thanks for the correction and the detailed explanation

Edit:
But how does it come that some shows seem to be bigger/more zoomed in than others? For example: Jessie Jazz & Mia Angel (DB 376) looks much bigger than Victoria Puppy & Susane Barts (DB 384) for me. Both are marked as 720 though.
