The App will Not Find them, and then Automatically Re-Download the Missing cards that are in the Playlist, But not found on your Drive.

I assume that only happens if you have enabled "Automatically download full nude shows". I don't have this enabled and I have never noticed it happening - indeed I have seen the program skipping over such shows in the Now Playing/Next area by very quickly moving them through the Now Playing area to the History area of the sidebar.

You will end up with Duplicate Downloads.
Not really an Issue for the APP, but they take up double the space then.

Duplicate downloads are indeed not a problem for the app - indeed I normally have duplicates for many of my cards.

As I said in my previous post I use a models folder on my C: disk where I keep a subset of my cards and another on an external drive which holds the cards for all of my cards, including those on my C: disk. As soon as I can after downloading or updating any cards I use a utility, Beyond Compare, to compare the two folders and either copy or move any new files to maintain the state where everything is on the external drive and everything for a subset of cards is on the C: drive. Beyond Compare makes it clear, via colouring, just which is the most recent version of a file or folder and the way I use it for this it only displays folders for which there are any differences so it only takes a few seconds to do this maintainence - not counting the time required to physically copy or move the files. I am sure that there are other utilities of a similar nature, but if you don't have one you could use the Windows file manager or command line utilities but using either of these would entail more effort.

If I disconnect the external drive then the program still works though, of course, it can then only play those cards that are on the internal drive.

Yes that works most of the time.
You have to be careful, not to Insert a Playlist that has cards from the now Disconnected Drive.

As long as you tell the app, via the settings page, where to find them then it will indeed find them and use them. You can move them before or after telling iStripper about the new folder.

I use two iStripper models folders, one on my laptop's C: drive and one on an external drive. I keep the bulk of the animations on the external drive and a selection of my favourites and most recent downloads on the C: drive. If I disconnect the external drive then the program still works though, of course, it can then only play those cards that are on the internal drive. If I reconnect the external drive access to the full collection is restored and all of the cards can be played.

If you have iStripper on two computers you can use the same external drive for both or you can copy the cards from one to the other if you want to keep the two installations separate. Similarly if you only have a new installation but have the files you used for an older one the you can use those files or copies of them rather than having to download them again. If you have two installations you can download on one and copy the files to the other. All of this, of course, assumes that the two installations are for the same iStrpper account.

For a long time I had no good internet connection at home so I downloaded the cards when I was elsewhere, usually when I only had the laptop with me. As the external disc was then not connected the downloads would go to the C: drive.

At any time you can move cards between folders known to iStripper, or add new folders to that list and move cards to them without affecting the programs ability to use those cards.

They appear to have a .demo extension. Are there issues with this ?

I don't know. The .demo extension is also used for various transition clips and I have no idea whether deleting those will have any adverse effects. It is, however, OK to delete all of the files for any of the cards that you have not purchased.

There is also a setting "delete peer to peer files when deleting previews" which I think should keep you disk clean of any unwanted preview files. I also believe that iStripper has a limit tothe amount of disk space it uses for previews and will automatically delete old ones when it reaches this limit. Some time ago there was talk of Totem making this a controllable via a setting but although I am pretty sure they said it would be done this feature has not yet appeared. I think there may be registry setting you can tweak if you are that desperate to save a small fraction of the disk space used by the program.

Mac user here, I'm very impressed with the app.

I have a couple of questions about moving files. I've had fun filling my main drive with dancers. So much fun I needed to add an external drive.

I changed the folder to my external drive. Newly purchased dancer cards are now stored there.

I'd like to re-claim the space on my primary drive. I plan to copy the model folders from there to my external drive, then delete them from the primary drive. I think you're saying the app will find them on the new drive.

Also, I'd like to delete preview files for unpurchased cards. They appear to have a .demo extension. Are there issues with this ?

Yeah .. I really wanted that Monika card too but it is what it is and fortunately she has lots of great content elsewhere.

I would like all 4 shows that are coming soon and there was a Eve Sweet duo I saw going to the exclusive crypto as well that I really wanted but I don't see it as coming soon yet.

We all start to suspect things when we see irregularities - and the team probably won't tell us any more as it is "marketing" 😉

I just hope that those cards are not going to be exclusive for people who got all legendary editions for example.

There are actually three cards missing from those shown to be in Season 1 - cards number 2, 8 and 10.

It just means that Totem are not releasing the cards strictly in the sequence in which they were filmed.

I can't help but notice that Monika May's NFT is missing fom this season. The number on her card was 0002 so it would make sense that her card was the next auction.
Will her NFT appear as a reward or in the Babydolz store?

It's still the same principle - "reward" (or bribe) those who spend most to encourage increased spending and hence increased profit. The reward is there to persuade you into becoming a big spender, not to affect your behaviour after you have done so.

The mechanisms involved, and the time scales, may be different but the princple of rewarding spending for the good of the company (not the customers) is the same.

It helps if you think of these things in terms of encouragements to become big spenders rather than as rewards for just happening to be big spenders.

I think my biggest concern with the idea of the season is based on the availability of individual cards within that season.

As there are already only 300 cards issued for Sia, then that limits the number of people who can qualify for the rewards for having a full season.

And what if the number of cards available for the 12th card of the season drops to 100? The scalpers will be active and the prices will rocket.

Is it only me or are full screens that use categories not working? Some show no clips available when there used to be and other show clips that do not have the correct category.

I'm sorry to report that I am giving up on this. I allowed my system to update Ubuntu to the latest version and it broke my install again, as I expected. I removed iStripper, Wine, and Play on Linux, installed the latest versions of PoL and Wine, and then tried to install several versions of iStripper, starting with the newest. Nothing worked.

I tried several combinations of Wine versions and iStripper versions before restoring my system to before the Ubuntu upgrade, and even that didn't work. I tried several re-installs following my steps listed here with no luck. I'm sure, with more time and effort, I could get it back on its feet again, but for how long? Every time something gets a major update--Ubuntu, Wine, or iStripper--I have to re-invent the wheel. It's no longer worth it to me.

When I first did this three years ago, my intent was to break away from Windows completely. That never happened, so continuing to struggle to make iStripper work partially and unstably on Linux doesn't make sense anymore. I just ordered a new PC; I'll leave Windows as the primary OS, install iStripper on that, and use a VM to do the rest of my work and play on whatever Linux distro I feel like playing with.

The automatic update worked for me.

This, incidently, supplies an answer to my previous question as to whether the previous release was an full release or a beta. It seems that it was a beta despite being the "official" release. I still think that it is fundamentally wrong to do this.

But more to the point. I started the program, was happily browsing the forum when the window simply disappeared which made me think that it had crashed. Only after a short, but nasty, delay was there any indication that an automatic update was in progress.

I strongly believe that the program should first inform me, preferably give me the option not to start the update, and only then close the running app. Currently it does those three things in reverse order.

I don't know how you feel about previews but if you don't think you need them anymore that is a little bit of extra space. I just used it to do the opposite though. (i.e. preserve all demo clips before a certain cap is hit and iStripper deletes them without notice.) 😄 😎 You can learn a lot on the forum. 👍

Firstly, Simply change the location via settings immediately after installing.

Secondly. If you are installing as an update rather than on a dfferent PC then, as long as you have not uninstalled first, the program will retain your old settings including the location of your models folder(s).

Thirdly. If you change the models location the program will give you the option of it moving the files for you or you can do it yourself later using a file manager. If instead of changing the folder's location you add a second folder you can move the files between the two folders freely at any time you want.

Yes you can. I moved all my models to another drive some time ago and removed the original file path so they all go to one place. You can just add another one though which might be easier. I have read that iStripper will choose the drive with the most free space when multiple file paths are used whenever you download a show.

In "Settings" you can change the location for your models.
But when you install istripper, the program suggests a file where to store your models.
I mean the following directory
C\Users\Chris\AppData\Local\vghd\models

Can we also change the destination of this ?
I have less space on my hard drive and somehow I have to fix it.
