@CptShrimps:
well the website dolz.io doesn't load anything than the purple background in my Firefox but does load fully in Chrome so it's browser related.

i see that REX is a co-founder of that platform and he is or at least was(not sure if he still is) the CEO of Totem so the same people are involved in both projects. The Twitter feed linked in the OP is obviously fake as its only people commenting how great the idea is and the same texts again and again.
I can see how that new concept could work /just look at all the trading card games in the real world and how much money some people invest there) but i am sceptical and will stay out of it.

@Totem/Dolz.io-Team: if you want to get enough people to partake on that new platform you have to explain crypto currency and wallets in detail for people who never heard of it before and tell them exactly what they need to do to take part in it. Otherwise this will fail.

NFTs are not a scam.

Do not get blind sided by amateurs that don’t know much on the subject in question, or by the big headlines of articles you’ll find on pseudo information websites, which are just there as clickbait rather than to give you reliable information.

A NFT is simply evidence registered on the blockchain, that you are the sole proprietor of a unique numerical content. This does not mean that said content can not be copied. But, contrary to any other numerical content, NFTs prove that you possess an original copy.
It’s like the difference between a painting exposed in a museum, and the copy of that same painting that you have exposed in your living room.

Let's look at this point by point.

What is an NFT?

From Wikipedia:
"A non-fungible token (NFT) is a unique and non-interchangeable unit of data stored on a blockchain, a form of digital ledger. NFTs can be associated with reproducible digital files such as photos, videos, and audio. NFTs use a digital ledger to provide a public certificate of authenticity or proof of ownership, but do not restrict the sharing or copying of the underlying digital files. The lack of interchangeability (fungibility) distinguishes NFTs from blockchain cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin"

Why are NFTs going to be used for iS cards?

We have to look at the "Law of Supply and Demand"
#1 - If the supply increases and demand stays the same, the price will go down.
#2 - If the supply decreases and demand stays the same, the price will go up.
#3 - If the supply stays the same and demand increases, the price will go up.
#4 - If the supply stays the same and demand decreases, the price will go down.

NFTs are going to be used by Totem to artificially decrease the availability (supply) of these digital cards in hopes of increasing the price of these cards. They already started this process of artificially limiting the availability of some cards. The SECs are here to create the "***** of missing out effect" (that desire to own all our favorite cards) to increase their price as a direct result.
Fortunately, we (the demand) also have a say in this equation. We can just vote with our wallets and not buy into these NFTs, if we don't support them. That will cause demand to go down preventing prices from going up (#2 of "Law of Supply and Demand).

I was not born yesterday. In my eyes, NFTs are just here to artificially limit the availability of digital products in hopes of increasing their value, when in reality, digital items can be infinitely copied. I call that a scam.

One final point. Digital movies, digital music, digital video games [digital art] are sold by major companies to consumers for set prices. Let's say about $30.00 for digital movies, $2.00 for digital songs and $70.00 for digital video games, and they are available to all consumers who want them. There is no limit on the supply side.
Would you all like to live in a World where all digital products get converted into NFTs? That would limit the availability of digital movies, music, games making their prices go up to the hundreds or even thousands of dollars?

Please do not misunderstand me. I absolutely love the different versions of software that Totem released over the years. I have been a supported of this company since the begining in 1999. I do however miss the days where I could just purchase cards for a set price (if I liked them), and skip cards that I did not want.
Again, to each their own, but it is still something to think about. Think wisely and vote with your wallets.

It is a good Description.

But with Dolz, the underlying Digital File is protected by the Account Encryption.
So Only the Account Holder, who owns the NFT, will be able to Decrypt the underlying Digital File,
The Card Animations, and play them.

The NFT provides Proof of being the License Holder
and then that provides you the Ability to Decode and Watch the Card.

Sure, the undelying Digital Files could be sent to someone
But without the NFT
the Files can not be Played.

The NFT can be Sold or Transferred, which would then allow the New NFT holder
to decode and Play the Files.

I don't have any problem with an additional revenue stream for Totem. My curiosity is more about the implementation method. Totem could have implemented trading cards with limited availability in their current ecosystem without involving NFTs and cryptocurrency. They already track the cards owned by each member and have an excellent encryption method make sure only valid owners can play those cards. They could have created a marketplace in the current app where cards were auctioned or sold at a fixed price determined by the seller. They could have received a cut of each sale in the same way that Steam takes a cut of trading cards sold there. Members would be more inclined to participate in trading since they wouldn't have to mess with cryptocurrency.

I'm guessing the reason for implementing this with the NFT technology and cryptocurrency is to make these cards available to non-members who want to use them to speculate and hope to get lots of cash rather than credits when selling their cards. An iStripper NFT card has the benefit of being more aesthetic than an ugly little jpeg and also has actual functionality to make it more valuable, The initial card releases might produce significant revenue for Totem, especially from investors who want to be first to the party. Many of these cards will likely be owned by people who will never play them, but maybe that's no different than all those valuable paintings that sit in the vaults of the uber-rich and are only treated as investments. Ultimately, I expect the demand for older cards to wane over time so the price will come down to something even less than most of us spend on SECs.

FYI, if you haven't watched the two most recent South Park specials on the Paramount+ network, they provide some amusing social commentary on NFTs. Here's a clip of a grown-up version of Butters (aka Professor Chaos) doing a pitch on NFTs. Maybe he got to Totem as well. 😀 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8f-BQFo7lw

Please look up the meaning of"scam".

Totem are not attempting any deception with their use of NFTs therefore there is no scam.

While I would prefer Totem to simply release the cards as normal cards it is up to them, not us, what they choose to do with their own property. If they discover that they can make more profit by releasing some cards as SECs or using NFTs then I say good luck to them.

I won't be buying them, but that is my choice and I will have lost nothing from the introduction of the NFT based cards as long as the normal card release schedule remains at 7 per week.

Dear colleagues, Dear Team,

Just an option, may you need to do a better explaination what will be changed and why and in a more easier way.
Most of us are scared that something will be changed, we need to do something and spend more money or do more technical things like new currency, NTF ... may a a video would be help to explain everything. Just remenber most of us users or only myself :) do not have many knowledge about this topic (NTF, virtual currency and why you do this now).

Many thanks.

Please look up the meaning of"scam".

I am sure that you can look it up yourself, but here it is (just in case):

Scam. English verb.
Definition of scam:
  • to deceive and take money from (someone)
  • to get (something, such as money) by deceiving someone.

Like I said before:

NFTs are just here to artificially limit the availability of digital products in hopes of increasing their value, when in reality, digital items can be infinitely copied. I call that a scam.

Hi

I hear you Northstar17. If you find the cryptocurrencies and NFTs stuff complicated, that's because it is! I promise that we'll make it it super digest for you (a video is a good idea) and in a while, you'll be expert in crypto and see (I hope with as much as enthusiasm as I have personnaly had), how exciting and promising this new technoology is :)

Hey fallenOne.

The same source (https://dictionary.cambridge.org/fr/dictionnaire/anglais/scam) defines "scam" as:

"a dishonest way to make money by deceiving people".

and It can be offensive when said to an honest person / company.

@fallen0ne

I am gad you looked up the meaning. From the definitions you quoted the an essential element is deception

As Totem have not attempted any deception there is no scam.

You may regard the NFT cards as overpriced, but that is all.

Hello Kaiju. Thank you for taking the time to join this conversation.

I completely understand and respect your position. Again, I have been supporting Totem for some time now.

I do however have to question the the state of things when online lottery / online gambling games are the only way to earn some cards (SECs), and now I read that some cards are going to be NFTs.

Please feel free to correct me, if I am misunderstanding the whole thing.

Le fil de la "PEUR", les NFTs sont les nouveaux envahisseurs venus de l'espace avec leur propre monnaie!

The "*****" thread, the NFTs are the new invaders from space with their own currency!

Don’t get me wrong, I love the principle of trading cards per se (collected lots of them in the past in a physical way), but NFTs, oh boy, especially with some unknown crypto currency at play (that might be worth nothing tomorrow when the course gets down or if it gets hacked, also the hassle of making an extra account), err, this pretty fast goes into a no-thanks-zone for me. It’s absolutely non-reliable from an investor-view, and even looking at it from a collector’s standpoint, who knows what will happen to them in the future, seriously. Let alone the aspect that it’s toxic energy-wise for the environment. And from the iStripper customers’ view, oh my god, please don’t withhold the best cards from us this way, honestly. If those NFT-cards are meh, yeah, go ahead and sell them to some hardcore fans (I completely understand that you want to make money, and I admit that your goals, like another office or better models, sound awesome). But if the cards are really good, please PLEASE don’t withhold them from us regular guys and girls. After all we’re your REAL customers, who’ll stick to you till the end. Like someone asked in another thread, yeah, stripping is WAY better than pure porn. So don’t disappoint us by that business move, that’s all that I’m asking for.

OK.

A drinking game. Go on the announcement tweet and drink for every tweet that simply says:

"Good Project"...

Also read some of the other tweets and then make of this situation what you may.

Anyway, so long as we still get great shows on here and that side is kept separate - the World is not ending.

I used to think an air-drop was when charities parachute medical supplies into remote regions 😆

I'm going to stick with what we have here - beautiful girls showing me everything for just a handful of credits.

Works for me. 😊

My post a few days ago I think will be how I eventually settle. No worries.

The way I deal with this is to think of the NFT content as if it is on another web site that I have not subscribed to. There is plenty of content I might like on others sites, but cannot afford to sub...
And everytime I hear "air-drop" I can't help but think of all the photos we have here with panties around the ankles. 😆

You should've seen the discord - it was a complete bot infestation. After reporting it I was told by a team member that it's simply people who are happy and interested in the project. It was then I quit the server and decided to have nothing to do with the project - if such obvious red flags are ignored (either on purpose, or simply by accident/inexperience) it's not a good sign for me.

Some might say: "What are you doing with a computer? Not necessary! I just have a smartphone that does everything! And for cheap! And then iStripper, it's not essential, what kind of lifestyle is this?

If we go like this, we can see the evolution of the human way of life as NOT indispensable and stay at the "hunter-gatherer" stage, after all...😆

It seems @Sexy3DBoy, that the last 7 years have been the hottest globally. At the rate things are going, humans are going to enjoy, thanks to technological advances, being able to protect their avatars in metavers, while they'll probably have to try in real life to harvest and hunt what will manage to survive on Earth, given all the climate change.

It's quite sad to see, from videos seen on the internet, that people are willing to pay fortunes in cryptocurrency for virtual land in these metavers, while people are starving in real life. Long live progress. There is no real progress without human evolution.
