hm i just checked for the demo files and on my PC they are still there. i got arount 10k demo files in my model folders.
then again i only have very few previews. 6 shows at the moment that are previews only.

I like your idea for separating the categories into more specialized groups to allow better searching. However, I just discovered at least one problem: Some of the tags aren't as mutually exclusive as we would expect. For example, I have 6 cards with tags for both big boobs and tiny tits. This is easy to understand because they are all duo cards, but there is the problem - duo cards have have contradictory tags.

I did some analysis using an Access database I've built from my iStripper collection. Looking at only solo shows, here's what I found:
big boobs and tiny tits are mutually exclusive
hairy and shaved are mutually exclusive, but trimmed is not with 17 overlaps to shaved and 5 to hairy
naked feet and hair heels are not mutually exclusive about 20% of the cards with one have both.

Hi, I'm now in the same boat as some others. For some reason, my existing version of the iStripper stopped showing me anything other than preview clips (for which I hadn't yet downloaded the full card) in My Collection, with no access (greyed out or otherwise) to any of my fully purchased clips. I therefore downloaded the latest version of iStripper thinking that this would fix the problem. However, instead I now have access to no cards whatso-ever - even the preview clips I had downloaded and am told that my collection is empty! I know this is not the case however as I keep my cards on an external hard-drive so it would seem the new install is not finding these. How do I fix this? Many thanks!

New and enhanced features are great, but please put more time on fixing general bugs and especially crashes when viewing the sub-tabs under the Featured tab, not to mention crashes that occur when generally browsing the app. Also, checking for updates usually gives an error in connecting to check for updates. This has been happening under Mac OS X 10.9.5 and 10.10.5 (can't tell for 10.11 or 10.12) Other apps don't have this issue so it's not related to my computer or internet connection.

@frae: well i gave you my thoughts on UX for the categories. its good to know that there will be a scrollbar but still i think my suggestion about splitting into several sections stays valid.
the sections should be collapsable. so when you drop down the categories you first only see the titles of the sections.
It could look like this: (\/ = a down arrow icon that shows that this list can be expanded.)
Outfit styles \/
Body Properties \/
Clip types \/
...

Then when you click on the down arrow or even the whole title you expand the list now showing also all category options for this section
This would be much more easy to handle for the users.
Now dropping down the categories feels a bit like being hit by a baseball bat.
Too much information jumps on us to easily digest it.
Also it would make sense to show the categories currently checked first in the list so one can easily uncheck them.

I will let you know if i got other ideas how to improve the UX

I'm a little late getting this update, but thank you for some much needed filters and the ability of the software to delete previews. All those demos add on to disk space after a while. I just like to see my own shows and once in a while, I may check out a new girl by preview and later delete it myself. Thanks for all your hard work.

Seeing all the issues with previews - no plan to upgrade anytime soon...

I tried fresh install with this build and two problems - same error message as posted earlier in thread when trying to play downloaded previews, and no skins.

So I tried installing an older version 1.2.129 which restored some skins but only partially. I am left with persistent magenta pink area. >.<

Seeing all the issues with previews - no plan to upgrade anytime soon...

The click on the "X" minimize the Program to the Taskbar, Is NOT a BUG.
The DEV, made it this way as a Feature.

Thanks Frae - the re-registering runs the risk of deleting all my cards if I get it wrong so I will contact customer support.

Many times I've come up against similar issues with my collection disappearing or greyed-out thumnails. My models folder is also on on external USB drive.
You WON'T lose your collection by registering again or rebuilding all ;)

When neither of these solutions work (they usually do), then something else has obviously changed. Check your external drive letter hasn't changed by something you may or may not have done. The software still points to the correct drive letter & models folder? Great.

Try this. It may sound silly but you'll be amazed how often this ***** works for me :)

Quit iStripper then UNPLUG your external drive. Now restart iStripper. No way it can find the models now. Now plug in your drive again... if you have one spare, in another USB port. Wait till Windows loads the drive again and see if that loads your girls back. If not, quit iStripper again and then restart again.

Often this rigmarole will fix dirty/corroded USB connections. I've done this same thing with my HDMI connectors to get my TV working properly many times. Over time, electrical connections can build up a layer that prevents perfect communication of data. Even my phone's SIM card ***** from this on occasion. A quick removal and plug back in will solve more issues than you can imagine :)

Sorry, it really doesn't matter to me how you want to call it. If button doesn't do what it suppose to, even if it was decision on DEV side, it's a BUG in my book. Even worse: it's wrong design.

X is a button that should close the window. If I would like to minimize window, I would use minimize button.
But guessing from the tone, it's not fixed, nor configurable?

Oh well, no good reason to update than to even more buggy version.

I side with DuziKolo on this issue. The software may well be acting according to its design and hence not be regarded as a bug by the developers but it certainly is not reacting to the "close window" icon in the system standard way. Currently it seems to makelittle or no difference which of the "-" or "X" title bar icons is clicked on, though there may be internal differences. Not behaving in the system standard way is a bug, even if if is done deliberately when it is a bug in the design.

So buggy that it all deleted demo files from my purchased cards instantly without my permission, but never touched free demos.
Then it was downloading something, based on my network meter at a 1.5 Mbit/s, 10 GB in the 15 hours it was running. There's no new files apparently in vghd folder and subfolders, so I just reinstalled the previous version to stop the damage.

I have downloaded the new 1,2,142 version. But the previews of my purchased cards are gone now from my harddisk. In My Collection there is a notification "Clip not found". Why Totem has done it? I'm a member for such a long time and now Totem erases purchased previews from my harddisk? Is there a way to have these demos back again? Why Totem are doing this without communication to here members?

after re-testing 1.2.142.
I too have fallen prey to the Lost .demo files..
almost all the demos for my 3200 plus cards, have been deleted..
all very silently
and there is NO log entry of any of this.

There is NO WAY I know of to recover the lost Demo files without fully re-downloading the Entire Card, using the GUI.
I can do it by writing my own software to download the demo's ( provided I have a List of the Demo clip file names )
but the GUI does not give you a way to do it.

I'm pretty sure I have most of them Backed up. maybe not the Last 300 cards or so. Them I'll have to re-download.

but it is still a ***** to have to go through this...

They made a mistake. Whether it was a coding error, an oversight in the design or a failure to fully specify the correct behavior of the new version doesn't matter. Clearly, their testers didn't pick it up either. These things happen. I once brought down a major company's operations database by trying to help with a rush fix late on a Friday afternoon. There is no excuse for these kinds of errors, but they do happen.

Re: Is there a way to have these demos back again?

I'm sure Totem is working on this. It's going to cost then a lot of download fees no matter what they do, but I suspect they will come up with a way to minimize the number of clips downloaded to just those that were accidentally deleted. It will probably take them some time to come up with a fix and test it. Meanwhile, we can still play our cards without the demos.

I'm sure Totem is working on this.

If Totem is already working on it, they should have first made a general WARNING somewhere, to say the least !
And in my case, the software was downloading something at a rate that it would have downloaded 150GB in 15 days.

Uh uh... could it be such several files deleted in background that may cause my Kaspersky detection (I posted another topic in problems forum about that)...? Detecting kind of suspicious behavior ?

the .Demos are not required to use the Full Cards.
in fact Many of the .Demos were just Shortened version of one of the Full Clips anyway..
But, there are some cards, where the .Demo files were Unique clips all of their own.

While I will miss not having them... It's not causing any usability issues.

I may not even waste the bandwidth of re-downloading..
If the Team provides a Right click menu option to Download the Demo's Only, Then I may do that.

In the GUI there are two Right Click menus related to the Trash Can
One is for a Single card selection, and the Other is for a multiple Card Selection.

I suggest that the Team add a DownLoad Demos option to this menu.

I'm not sure but I think a number of the transition clips are marked as demos. I don't know it these clips are unique or not. Many of these are the "pick me" clips.

I'd also like to have Totem add a function to re-download the demos, but I'd like to be able to do it globally, not one card at a time.

Also, I don't like hiding functions under an icon and requiring a right-click to even know they are there. Worse yet, I don't like adding unrelated functions like check for updates or re-download to a delete icon. This is not a video game where part of the fun is discovering hidden capabilities. This is a working application where all the capabilities should be apparent. A separate drop-down of "Card Management" functions would be more appropriate.

@Dorsai: ALL transition clips are unique. The demo 'it' clips have also disappeared from my cards. Anything marked as '.demo' vanished except for 2 old cards in my case.

I agree, to 'fix' this error, a global download would be preferable to doing it one by one. I don't really care if the fix is a, 'right click' menu option as long as we're told where it is. However, I agree that checking for updates is a bad place to put a right click option on a trash can! Since iStripper started, it usually involves downloading the whole card. Not always but most of the time it does :(

A separate drop-down of "Card Management" functions would be more appropriate.

I like this idea :)

Aparently this new version also makes p2p shareing mandetory no matter the p2p setting. I'm not to happy with this. I don't mind saveing server traffic but when I want to. I play online games some and I don't want more load added to my network when doing so plus band width fees that can come with it. I'll be using the previous version until they make the setting option work again.

I do know that turning of P2P is not Immediate.
I will continue to run in the background even after iStripper has been Quit, till it finishes up what was left in it's Que.
Then it terminates the process.
