Is there a way to play demo's of the new card .. they aren't showing up in the carousel and it's my understanding they never will. I understand there is no longer a discount but at the new prices I will be very hesitate to take chances so will only buy cards I'm pretty sure I want.

Am I missing something?

Also .. A date on the card would be nice so you know when the 20% 7 day discount is expiring?

Just noticed that off the 7 days discount in the OP.

So the new cards aren't coming in the carousel and the discount is only 7 days only on the website. I guess I won't be getting lot of new cards then...

No demo = No buy
And when in doubt, and no discount,... again, no buy...

VG will be loosing money on me...

For me it worked when I bought first new card, then all others came to carousel, tho they showed up strange, I got a new card from old collection but when I clicked on it to take off "New" tag it reappeared as new interactive card with "Last Days" tag. Still I was able to download demo and watch it before purchase.

@Barley, for me it worked strange too! When new cards from the new collection appear they appear with LAST DAYS tag and then suddenly disappears! So i CAN see new cards as demos but basically cant play them because they disapper! Total mess actually! But i guess its all because they have too much of new stuff and really busy and soon will sort it out.

@Kibosh, but you still have your Diamond member discount .. but i agree that no demos = less sales .. for me it works the similar way ..

Perhaps it makes a sense to look in to a Girls Store from time to time. That's the place, where those new cards show up with 20% discount for sure. Also keep your eye on VG News, to not to miss the new cards.

Another matter is a preview of the shows. If the girl doesn't show up on the carousel, the only chance to see her in action is that tiny non nude preview window in the Store, but its image quality does not stand any criticism - it's just crappy. This is a problem of a long overdue and I really hope that Team will look at this one day, 'cause if the people are ***** to visit the Store more often, they must get a much better picture of the things in there.

I think the 20% discount showing is new - At least I don't think it wasn't there when I last looked.

So the dilemma begins for me. I bought Sabrisse but I'm not sure about Amber Cute?

If I buy it and don't like it I'll be annoyed. If I don't buy it soon than I probably never will. I guess I'll never know what I missed.

I had no idea how much I was going to miss the functional carousel.

I've been posting this idea to a number of threads because I'd really like to see Totem make this change and to see what others think.

Now that the carrousel does not have a discount function, I think there should be a way for a user to add any card they wish to the carrousel. The added card would replace the oldest card currently on the carrousel. That was a user could stock the carrousel with cards they are more likely to buy and they could use the carrousel to see a full-size demo. Like many customers till now I bought more than 95% of all my cards from the carrousel. I like that way of previewing a card.

I can think of two ways of doing this. First, there could be an "Add To Carrousel" button below each card in the store tab of the VG application. Second, double clicking on the card itself in the store tab could add it to the carrousel. The first approach make the function obvious, but clutters the screen. The second approach keeps the current appearance, but adds another hidden function/feature. I ***** hidden functions, but I also ***** cluttered screens. Both approaches would take about the same amount of new programming.

The new cards show up in the store page off the program with the discount. Before I would get the new cards in the carousel the day after. If the card has a discount, they can show that also in the carousel, I don't see a problem with that. I don't mind if the discount is changed.

The big issue is that the new cards aren't showing up in the carousel as before. Making I can't see the card when it has a discount.

I would love an official answer from Vg what's is what now? Is this still a bug? Or did they changed this also?

If limited preview is the new policy, it is very disappointing. I can't tell anything about a show from that little 2 second "preview" on a card's page. Although I was (as only a Diamond member) disappointed to hear about the price increase, I understood it. But to increase the price and ask us to gamble on a card more than before is just too bad.

I hope this is just one of the things that the Totem team is working out as they roll out this overhaul. They've been very good about taking what we say into account.

I support Dorsai6's suggestion. I don't know the difficulty of this kind of programming, but it would be a great addition.

seems to me this is just a bug of the new sofvtware, i see no reason why Totem would continue to make the png files and demo files for the carousel for the new models if they were not gonna include them, the software is new, give them a chance to get it working as it should, Totem would not waste resources on making items they were not going to use and they know the demos are a selling point so sure they will want to push the new product through the carousel.

Whilst we are experiencing a problem with the new Interactive cards appearing on the carousel but tagged with 'Last Days' (I reported back on the .46 release thread) and some (myself included) having slow downloads, would Totem consider increasing the 7 day period for the extra discount to give us time to see the demo files?

If new cards are not appearing in your carrousel, it's a bug and we're going to look into it.
I also like the idea of adding cards to the carrosul, makes sense, I'll talk about it with the team.

add card to carousel? Probably the most brilliant idea ever! You just have to think how its gonna affect non paying members. With this function all ppl can download unlimited number of demo girls which will result to traffic changes but perhaps more popularity of VG? or less sales among newcomers? Interesting question to think about .. Though you can add this function for Platinum members for example .. this is gonna work much better (IMHO) .. @Dorsai6 GREAT IDEA!

How about a list of all cards, rather than having the carousel?

A long time ago there was a version that allowed you to Replace a Demo card on the Carousel.
You could do this a limited number of times..

That was when the Carousel was used to give members a discount..
The Limit was to prevent loss of profits from too many discounted sales.

Now that the Carousel isn't used for Discounts, I'd like to See 30 cards on the carousel, and the ability to replace them freely..

It's now a sales tool, to let members preview the demos before buying..

But I would also limit Free members, replacement options..

Some members might think, Why buy when you can get all the free demos you want..???


So only for members who have purchased credits or cards in the past 6 months.
or something like that...

Just thanks for response and this topic.Would be great to be able to download demo's as well. It is possible to stop them after x playing or x days so don't see any issue's there..

I think it is more likely to boost sales than to add to Totem's expenses. However, Totem should have enough usage statistics to determine if this is happening. If there is a problem, the simplest solution would be to put an upper limit on how many cards could be added per day or per week or per month. Each sale off the carrousel would allow an additional carrousel add action. A more complex approach would factor in the member's status - bronze, silver, gold, etc. This kind of limit wouldn't be too hard to add, but it probably won't be needed.

@Dorsai6, great idea but wouldn't a limit be necessary? Otherwise you could have thousands of members downloading hundreds of demos every day, putting a strain on Totem's servers. 10-20 demos per day should be enough to browse something to purchase.

As all the above comments suggest, "Bring back the functional carosel!!!" The option to confirm a purchase is also missing. Please reinstate these back in the software.

I don't know. Anything can be *****, but it takes some work to select a card in the store and then play its demos from the carrousel. If I were Totem, I'd try it without any limits and warn people that lints would be imposed in cases of *****.

Instead of a simple limit on the number of demo's I do a limit on the number of demos that aren't bought. I'm sure Totem would mind me downloading 60 card demos if I bought 50 of those cards. If I were imposing a limit, I'm not sure if a daily, weekly or monthly limit would work best. I guess a daily limit would be the simplest to implement in software.

On a related issue, I find the store awkward to use when buying multiple cards using a filter. After buying the first card, I must reset the filter and navigate to the page I was on to continue browsing. I wish it would retain the filter settings.

Yeah it would be really nice to be able to pick demos you want to see. I've made the vast majority of my purchases based on demos. The carousel eventually gets full of cards I'm not interested in and I have to wait until new ones arrive that I like.

I thought Totem said new cards were never going to carousel? Anyways I'm glad to hear it's being addressed. No preview is going to be a real problem for me .. I'll decide on Amber Cute Thursday I guess.

I always use a SHIFT click or CTRL Click from the Web Store..
That way my Store settings remain, and the Card is open in a new Window or New Tab..
All I do is Close the Window or Close the Tab, and I'm back to my Store settings..

I was speaking of the store tab on the application. I've never purchased cards from the web site. Since I use a Mac, CTRL Click may be more difficult to accomplish. If this trick works in the VG App on a Mac, it's the kind of hidden feature that should be documented.

As I explained in the post just before yours, it's not that the new cards aren't appearing on the carousel but, like other users have confirmed, the cards from the Interactive collection are coming onto the carousel in place of a 'Last Days' card (which is what you'd expect) but NOT clearing the Last Days flag. So she will disappear from the carousel as soon as the third card after that comes down. That's often less than an hour.

Apologies if you understood the nature of the problem but I wasn't sure from your reply if you had, so I thought I'd better clarify. It was the reason I asked if the time limit for the extra discount could be increased or even removed until the problem was solved so that we had a proper chance to demo new releases.

We don't have issues with how many cards a user could see this way. But we don't like the fact that it would takes a long while between adding a girl to your carrousel and seeing her on your desktop as the P2P takes time to start. This is why you have the flash non nude preview, so you can see how a girl move immediately.
Any thoughts on that?
