Anybody knows if is there a way to see the complete time of the shows by the software. This information appears on the webpage of the show only. I always have to visit the page to check it.

The information on the length of the clips is not displayed in the software.

I have written a play utility that shows the duration of the full card, individual clip and elapsed time of the time.

It was inspired by the utilities written by Wyldanimal and Starryk. It is based on the same rules and conditions that Totem has advised for Wyldanimal's player.

It reads information from the model file and the card XML file.

I wrote this program just for me and it increases my enjoyment of VirtuaGirl.

The program allows me to select a card and play all the clips in order from non-nude to x rated. It also allows me to dynamically see the information from the currently playing clip and card.

Let me know if you think this utility is worth sharing with others. If so I would need to get permission from Totem.

My utility also allows me to show the clips in the card and select individual clips to play.

I'm a Mac user. Unfortunately, I won't be able to use your utility. However, I've written a number of AppleScripts to help me better enjoy VG. One thing I haven't tried to do is work out the play time of a clip. I can get the size in bytes easily, but I haven't tried to go any further. Would you be willing to explain how you determine play time? I suspect it is encoded in the models.lst file, but I haven't worked out where.

You software has matured quite a bit from the time I got to see it last.
I would hope that Totem gives you a green light to share it.

Future of My Software?
For Now, I write for my Own Enjoyment

I'm on my 6th version of my VG Manager.
I have most of the Features that everyone has been asking for in it..
Of Course the Filter like I have in my Player for Level, Style or Combinations...
Full TAG search with Combinations Of up to 3 Search items.
These can Be And Search must Meet all the Tags..
These can be Or's Search for Any of the Three Tags
These can be Not's Search for cards that Don't have the Tags..

Since it using a custom Database. I also have the Ability to make My own Tags.

Initially, I populate the Tag List the First time the program is Run.
Each Clip from a Card is Given that Tag's for that Card.
But If I wanted too, I can edit the tags for the Clips Individually.
Custom tags can be Assigned to a Card ( and thus all clips of that card )
Or they can Be Assigned to just One, or a group of Selected Clips.

Music:
Like Tags, I have a Full music management database that Also works on the Card or Clip level..
The Default is a Random music file from the Supplied Playlist, If No Music has be Assigned to a Card.
A Clip defaults to the Cards Music setting, if the Clip does not have an Assigned Music file.
By doing it this way, I'm always assured of a music file being played.
Music database also has the Ability to Set an Entry point in Milliseconds, and a Duration.
So you Might Only want to play 30 seconds of a Song, Starting at 15.6 seconds into the song.

It's all Modular, Sort of like Plugin's
You display only as much on Screen, as you need or want..

The Only thing I haven't done, Is create a good Clean User Interface.
I use it just for my Own Enjoyment. And never intended to share it..

But all things are possible if you want to do them..

I Recently released an Update Cards utility I posted, It was Extracted from this Program.

@Dorsai6, the clip duration in located in the card XML file under duration. The duration is expressed as the total number of video frames contained in the card.

The video is running at 24 frames per second. This information will allow you to calculate times of the card and the clips.

@Wyldanimal, who do I send the request in Totem management to get permission to share my utility with other members?

I assume both these programs require that the playing of clips is handed over to the official Totem product? I have that installed on my desktop but there are instances when I'm away travelling and would like to take my laptop with me for my entertainment that contains a smaller selection of cards and a cut down player that doesn't try to connect to the Internet to update cards.

I'm sure I can't be the only one who'd appreciate 'taking their favourite girls' on a trip :-)

Is there any sign of Totem allowing a user product or developing their own that is a standalone player?

Yes, all Member created software "APPROVED" by Totem - work only if Totem's GUI is installed.
There are No Stand Alone Players.. any type of Stand Alone Player would ***** Totem's terms.

So the Answer to your Second Question is NO for Member created, and I doubt that Totem will release a Light weight player of their own.

Travel Size can be done:
You can Copy the Full set of Data Folders, ( takes up very little space )
and Just the Model folders you want to travel with.
To prevent the cards from trying to download:
In the Advance GUI settings, UnCheck All the Automatic Downloads..

So you Don't see the Non-Downloaded cards:
On The My Collection View, UnCheck Show Not Downloaded, and UnCheck Show Inactive

Now you will Only See the Cards Displayed that you Copied to Travel With.
(But you still need an Internet connection to get the rights to play them )

(3) pics..
1 - Only Copied 15 cards out of My 2561
2 - put the check mark back in Show Not Downloaded.. See all the Not Downloaded cards
3 - all advance Automatic downloads NOT Checked. It doesn't try to re-download them.
3b - but you still need Internet to get the rights to play them.

Re: @Dorsai6, the clip duration in located in the card XML file under duration. The duration is expressed as the total number of video frames contained in the card.

I final found the time to try this out. Unfortunately the XML file gives me duration of the total card, not the individual clips. I'm trying to determine the duration of each clip within a card separately. I can get the clip size, but nothing more from the models.lst file. This can yield an approximate duration if I factor in resolution, but it's just a rough estimate. Does anyone know a more accurate way to get this?

Thanks Wyldanimal for your clear advice on how to take a 'travel set' of cards and the settings needed to avoid the download, etc. I have found in the past that needing an Internet connection to allow rights to be checked before a card will play has messed up the girls on the demo carousel when I get back home, that still seems to carry on. I know I can untick p2p but that still leaves one show attempting to appear on the carousel each day.

Shame there's no reason for Totem to create a lightweight player that still checks that you are valid to use the card but doesn't have all the other overhead.
