The Small size 60% is enough?

I seem to remember there was mentioned a way to edit a file to workaround the fixed 60% setting in the app. But I think it involved messing with the registry files and that is never a good idea if you don't know what you are doing. I was tempted, but for once thought better of it.

It might be the one I remember, another but it is 2.5 years since those instructions. App software has changed in that time. Got my hands full with Melisa at the moment so I am not messing with it. 😄

I just did the registry edit a while ago. I only run this program in "small" mode as I like the control over placement.

But if the 'Full Size' can be at 200%, why the 'Small size' can't be made 100%.
Maybe it's a conflict with the 100% of the 'Full size', but then let it be 90% at the 'Small size' !
More options is better!

I think the origin of the limitation lies in the algorithm used for positioning the clips in small mode.

If you have a large number active clips, the maximum allowed being 10, then they tend to all bunch up towards the middle of the screen with this tendancy increasing as the size increases. This is probably done to stop the models spending much of their time off the side of the screen. If you had any number of 100% sized clips active at once they would all be centered in the same place right in the middle of the screen. The arbitrary limit to 60% does stop the bunching becoming too ridiculous - though it is still annoying..

Quick question for anyone that did the registry trick. Is the small size over 60% blurred at all? Over 100% full size seems less sharp at 1080p so was wondering if the same thing happens in small size. I have full size set at 95% and don't zoom over 100% box ticked even though this only affects some older cards for me.

I'm thinking only at 2 girls on the screen, from 3 onwards it is crowded.
For 10 girls on the screen at 60% size, there are too many.
If someone wants to crash his gameplay, he can set maximum graphics for the newest games on their lower pc. Anyone who wants to not crash their iStripper application would do well to not put the size 100% for ten women on the screen simultaneously, if the analysis power is too high.
Anyway, all plus features are welcome! It is an idea with the support of the votes

@Socialhazard - the same thing will happen. It is due to having to stretch the clips to be larger than their original sizes.

Even with small size set to 60% you can see the blurring for the very low resolution, 480p, VirtuaGirl classic cards unless you tick the "don't zoom over 100%" option (though those cards are always rather blurry anyway).

Even with two girls on the screen at 100% they will either spend a lot of time overlapping or, if you have manualy repositioned them, then they will spend a lot of time off screen.

Personally I am all for allowing the users to do this sort of thing, but I can also understand Totem's apparent reluctance to allow it. On the whole I think it should be allowed with a warning appearing when you first adjust the settings in a way that can have what many would think leads to a poorer overall impression of the product - e.g. times when the two girls have walked off screen and there is just an empty screen.

@TheEmu That's true. I had to mess with the settings to make 480p look ok but without an old monitor only so much you can do I think.

Good user interface design lets the users decide what they want and warns of negative side effects. Good UI design also provides robust undo feature for when the user makes a serious mistake.

In my experience on a Mac this generally results in the clip and card terminating early as the model drops through the floor.

I did in Registry from 60 to 80. Now I can do the Small Size at 100% and the Full size 200%.
I read that the iStripper application can give errors at Small size over 60% for some users, so I will not insist on this request.
Until now I've met no errors.

I have never experienced an Error from Small Size over 60%
While small Size at 100%, some models are too tall for the screen
So I usually have it 75% or 85%

the App is 32bit, and can only effectively use 3.5GB of Memory.
Each Girl on the screen ( no Matter the Size ) has to be fully expanded in Memory as it is played.

10 girls at 3K size was not a problem for 3.5GB of Memory.

But now with 4K size Clips.
10 Girls will exceed the 3.5GB and cause a crash.

Most of the time, I can run 5 to 6 4K cards
when I push it to more than 7, then there eventually will be Memory problems, and a crash.

a Single 4K clip can take up 500K or 600K or more of Memory while it is playing.
Most 4K clips are in the 300K to 400Krange.

But Multiply that x 10 and you are Out of Memory and a crash.

Eventually, the iStipper app will be released as a 64bit app
and there will not be a 3.5GB memory limit.

How to Fit More than 2 small size clips Above 60%

set the slide to 1 Girl
reduce small size to under 60% -->try 20%
Increase the Girl count.
When all Girls are on the screen
Increase the Small Size back to it's Higher setting. ---> 60% or more.


The undesired effect is, that the Models will be Overlapping or Bunched together.
This was the MAIN reason that by Design, small size was limited to 60% or Less.

80 to 90 works fine for most cards ..
Only if you use new and old cards like 720 and 3k together there will be a size difference in some occassions..
just try .. not working for you .. set the settings to there default ..
In most cases when you go below 60 % it will reset when you close and restart iStripper if I'm correct...
