Hi everyone,

after having been focused on the 3K content for a while (after my return to istripper after a longer ***** from vghd), I recently checked out some of my "classic" collection, i.e. what is now filed under istripper classic, 720. I once before had looked at some of these vintage cards but because of the comparatively poor video quality did not include them in my circulation.

Now I realize though that some of the later cards in the collection hold up quite well to today's shows, in terms of overall quality as well of course, but also specifically in terms of video quality (as long as you don't magnify them too much). I seem to notice a change somewhere between card nos. 400-500, but then I have the Carmen Gemini card no. 321 which is decent too, while other no. 300 cards (and below) seem to be poorer in quality, more jagged around the edges, if that makes sense.

What seems to apply to all cards, as far as I can tell, table clips look better, maybe because the camera was closer to the models than with standing/pole clips,

The point of all of this is: Does anyone know whether there is any documentation, info on when istripper/vghd changed in video quality during the 720HD run because of better camera equipment, post production etc. so I can look more specifically for which cards to re-download (or get more of the classic ones), or is my estimate somewhere around no. 500 correct? I searched the forum for it, but did not find anything, maybe also because of the wrong search terms.
In any case, I appreciate any forum knowledge there might be on this, and in the meantime I am enjoying re-discovering some of my old gems... just looked at Ariel's Sexy Rodeo card in forever, that's a freaking hot show (forgot all about that candle at the end...)

Cheers, red

Just as an addition: From what I found (and also observed) is that there was one major change around the mid-600cards. But before that, it seems that there was also an upgrade in video quality, and I am looking to pinpoint that.

I've been told that all the 720p cards starting with a0655 were recorded with a 1080p camera and, therefore, can be remastered to 1080p. I don't have personal knowledge about where this breakpoint is, but it must exist since Totem is slowly remastering those cards. I assume there is a similar break point for the old DeskBabes cards.

It is likely that you are correct in assuming there have been smal periodic improvements in card quality over the years that Totem was producing 720p cards. Wyldanimal might know. I suspect that most quality differences are due to production problems with specific cards rather than gradually improving quality. However, I have a poor eye for visual quality and I've never tried to compare cards systematically.

@Dorsai6: Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I guess I'll stack up/redownload starting from 655, since that seems to be the clear demarcation, upwards and play everything else by ear/or sight. Cheers, red
