I'm behind Rex on this. I was one of the people that had all of the previews downloaded but I was ALSO purchasing. I don't mind losing all that work downloading them all. I hardly ever watched them anyway.

Rex did what he had to do to stay in business. Back when I frist joined, like Rex stated, you were ***** previews and it was kind of annoying not being able to see a preview of a card you were interested in. I have no problems with getting rid of the freeloaders that just download previews and don't contribule to sales and keeping VG/iStripper in business.

I don't want to see them go out of business and I'm sure none of you do either. Just let them do what they need to do. As far as bugs go, just report it and let them fix it. They can't wave a magic wand and fix it overnight...

Not sure what to expect yet as Totem said these new image processing improvements will come in future cards. As a former QA tester, that could be anything between next week or 2/3 months away. I guess it's just wait and see ;)

I think that is what most people don't get. You don't have to upgrade every time a version comes out. I think I can count on 3 fingers the times where you had to upgrade or the program would stop working. In the 9 years I have been here that aint bad.

@Rex "We want them to feel they are in a strip club and there are new girls showing up on stage every 10 minutes PLUS they can go pickup any in the catalog."

I really don't think you should have allowed 720p cards to have showed up in the Push, they really are that outdated compared to current cards. Even the 2k15 "Crystal Clear" tier cards are noticeably less clear than those from mid-2k16 onwards.

We did not expect such negative feedback about this version. We followed the beta releases protocol, versions with the new Preview tab and 7 previews limitations have been released in bugs & fixes for the last two months without much negative feedback.

Please keep in mind Totem has to manage lots of different types of users to stay in business, from free loaders to advanced collectors. Totem would not exist without its paying customers, but it would not exist either without a continuous input of new users that start buying at some point. I understand everyone wants free unlimited access to everything, but there was a lot of ***** with the free previews (hundred thousands of accounts with thousands of free demos a not a single sale, thousands of diamond accounts now only collecting previews) and we’ve been saying for months we’d eventually have to limit it.

Upgrade to this version is not mandatory, and we provide a forum exactly for this, to discuss with our members. Offering the update in the software without explanations on its content was a mistake, we’ll upgrade our update system to be able to describe the content of the updates in the future.

Push of Previews is intended for new users, because we see 80% of them going idle after a few preview downloads and never make a purchase. We want them to feel they are in a strip club and there are new girls showing up on stage every 10 minutes PLUS they can go pickup any in the catalog. Paying customer can and should if they feel like it disable the push. I understand when you are a paying member than you don’t want random girls on stage but rather pick them up one by one. I don’t understand the ***** from paying members tho, if you don’t want free previews to be pushed, just choose « Never » in advanced settings.

7 Previews at a time rather than unlimited is of course a step back, but it was ***** the company that provides you new models every day and we had to end it. Wishlist is there now for you to mark the girls that might interest you (the bug has been fixed). As I said above, since we switched from VirtuaGirl (where NO preview could be chosen and 10 previews were pushed every day no matter what) to iStripper (where you can freely choose to download any preview without any limitation and NO preview was pushed) we saw hundred thousands of accounts with thousands of free demos a not a single sale, thousands of platinum+ accounts now only collecting previews and over 80% of new users converting far less than before just because they had to actively seek girls to see new previews.

Being able to disable Free Previews individually is missing, we agree, it will be added, probably through a delete button in the Previews.

We rely on P2P to be able to show free previews to new users and new users and vital to our business, hence the 20Gb of data kept on your hard drive to be shared with others through P2P. We also understand people who don’t want to help us sharing their disk space and we’ll provide this week the registry key you can edit to put this value as low as zero.

We plan to experiment discounts in the pushed previews in the next release, I hope you’ll enjoy that.

Just go back to the old VGHD method if it is ***** the business. But I would provide pictures for each model, and try to improve on the review system so there is at least one objective reviewer, a person that can point out the best cards in a series and such. Also, there are 3 hour youtube videos online that show all of the new demos, and I think they show some non-demo clips as well., you may want to get these shutdown because if people are freeloading off of the program demos they can now just watch them on youtube.

@Rex,

The 7 preview limit has not bothered me. I typically download half a dozen new cards at a time. I view each preview once or twice and make my buying decision. From that point on I'm no longer interested in those previews.

Unfortunately you have a lot of customers and they use iStripper in many different ways. Some of them are upset because they must now change the way they use iStripper and the new way is less comfortable for them. I believe one person made a good point saying there should be a way to tag a card as "see it, don't like it". Sort of an anti-wish list. Given his work style that makes sense to me, but it's not something I need. Any card I don't buy in the first 30 days falls into that category so I don't need a special mark.

There still seems to be a problem, perhaps Mac only, playing a preview I have previously seen. I'm still getting the attached error message. I understand I can solve this by deleting the models folder for that card, but that's too much effort for me so I simply don't buy the card.

The wish list and anti-wish list are special cases of a more general capability I've requested in the past. I'd really like the ability to tag any card on my computer with as many tags as I wish to add and to search on those tags. If I had this I wouldn't need a separate wish list and I could do a lot more as well. I find this so useful that I created an Access Data Base to provide that capability. Since I run iStripper on my Mac and I can only run Access in a Windows virtual machine, this is more than a bit awkward to use. I run iStripper on two Macs, but I don't need to share tags between my two computers. The Tags can reside in the iStripper data folder of the computer on which I enter them.

I also agree that the user's manual leaves a lot to be desired. Programmers ***** to document. I should know I've been programming many programmers my first language is code and English (my "native" language) is really a second language to me. You're challenge is many time worse since you must document in more than half a dozen languages. However, it must be done. Perhaps you could solicit some documentation beta testers from this forum. I'd be willing to provide feedback.

@kutta you’re still able to quickly go thru any amount of free previews you want, it’s just that there won’t be more than 7 at a given time on your screen (wich is for me already more than I can deal at once on my task bar). If you don’t ***** the P2P buffer to zero in the registry, any preview you’ve already downloaded comes instantly back on your screen, click on download preview which is instant since the data is already on your HD and then play.

I agree some free loaders, especially in certain countries, will never buy no matter what. But we’ve seen a significant decline in first buys on new comers since iStripper and its unlimited free previews and we need to fix it. Numbers will talk, but I think that, with the help of the community, and there is still tuning to be done, that we’re going in the right direction.

Oh ok, I was under the impression that it deletes the files for all previews except the 7 chosen. It must be a bug in the software then because when I try to play previews of a card (that I had previously downloaded) it usually wants to download it all over again. Which is very annoying and hopefully addressed in the next update

For me the problem is also the fact that my HD would be used without any notification from the software: what is using it. I can write myself a script that would show me which cards still have a demo (even tough it's not visible in the application any more) but it's just feels weird. Alternative is like russian rullete: pressing preview -> will it download it again? Or just show? Am I feeling lucky? ;)

Are you absolutely sure it's redownloading them again, as opposed to being an instantaneous thing? It always shows a download icon whenever a preview cannot be normally be played, and merely needs to be clicked to enable it again.

Hi all! There are 2 very annoying bugs with the latest version of the program on my computer:
1- sometimes the show plays BEHIND the program window
2- last but not least, now it makes my windows explorer to crash when i try to get access from the taskbar..

Is there a fix for these issues?? Thanxx for your answers and Totem, keep up the good work :))

*I'm adding this post here because I was told to do so.

Background on why:

There are a lot of things you can do on iStripper that aren't obvious. You guys take away a lot of buttons to do things and replace it with keyboard key combinations that we/I never hear about or know.

An example is highlighting all of my cards to enable/disable. There used to be a button for this and now we have to hold down CTRL+A. This is not common knowlege for advanced uses like myself who have been a member for 10 years. Quit removing buttons that are commonly used with keyboard combinations.

If you are going to do so then add a tab for keyboard shortcuts like all vidoe games and give us a list of commands and what they do. You could have saved me a lot of time, trouble and effort if you would have done that. I'm down for changes and making VG/iStripper more steamlined and user friendly but you guys are really screwing up by getting rid of key buttons/options and making it harder than it needs to be.

While I'm here, I have another complaint. I never knew after you disabled clips in the clips tab that you could right click on the trashcan in the details tab and delete the disabled clips. Why is this option not available in the clips tab?

Who thought it would be a good idea to make this a right click option that nobody knows about until they ***** in the forums? Who thought this would be a great idea to put in a tab other than the clips tab? Who thought this wouldn't be a great button to put in the CLIPS tab for us to easily see and use?

Really guys? This information was so little too late it's really annoying to say the least. You guys really need to disclose this kind of stuff in a place we can access on the iStripper app/program.

If it's a button you replaced with a keyboard shortcut or something we can do that's not obvious like right clicking the trashcan to delete disable clips then you need to make a seperate tab to let us know. Seriously, the more I find out in the forums vs your program/app, the more I get angry at the lack of information easily accessable to us. Pretend we are dumb and tell us everything we can do in one tab we can access on iStripper.

Thank you.

I'm not lazy but I don't check the forums everyday for new version release data that would tell me this if you even provide it. Like I said, just add a tab on the iStripper program that tells us all the cool things we can do with keyboard shortcuts or frequently ***** about issues solved by them.

I really fail to see why you'd ever want to limit previews from your paying customers. Thats like running a tv network and blocking your customers from watching the commercials. The full shows are already paid for and you gain nothing more when theyre being watched, but the previews are basically free advertising; and effective advertising too. I can guarantee you I would by more milk in the supermarket if the milk would occasionally flash its panties at me!

Now, I can understand that you want to put a limit on freeloaders that never buy anything, so let the amount of free previews be a function of how many cards you own. I like to keep a ratio of about 2:1 on previews vs full shows having a nice mix of new cards and 'will buy soon' cards mixed with the full shows. I can guarantee that with the current limit of 7 previews I will be buying a lot less in the future (maybe I'll spend the money on milk)

Poor comparison. Like, really poor considering that most commericals are annoying, obnoxious, and very in your face (like me, right now) and commercials have very little in common with iStripper's advertising because of it's method of implementation. Am I going to go further into the details? No.

Not being able to disable Free Preview is an issue that will be fixed in the next release.

Yes Free Previews are our advertising for new girls, the thing is when you accumulate them, they become a substitute for real content. It happened with free loaders, building entire collections of Free Preview, it happened with paying members who as soon as iStripper was released started to collect Free Previews instead of buying Full Shows.

You're only limited to 7 Free Previews at a time on your screen, but there is no limit to how many previews you can watch. Any preview you downloaded in the past should still be on your hard drive, so clicking on download preview (which will be instant) and play preview will bring her back (come on, that's two instant clicks instead of one). If you're using Free Previews to see the girl's move when considering buying her Full Show, I don't see where the problem is. If you were pilling up Free Previews as free content, then yes, it is restrictive. If you were using Free Preview as your wish list, we added a WhishList function for it now.

When we released iStripper, our spirit was to give complete freedom to users with Free Previews. It backlashed hard on our sales and we tried to find the least restrictive way to fix it. As I said above, we're going to experiment with promotions in the Free Preview tabs soon, and that's one key point in the fairness of the whole change.

My 2 cents about sales...
Today, as I saw the Valentine Day card I bought it at once, because it was discounted.
I think that, if all new cards would have a discount lasting for the release day only, we would buy far more of them.

Dividing around 1500 cards into 2 piles (Not on wishlist or on wishlist) is stille a lot of cards in each pile.
Having 4 piles, makes for fewer cards in each pile. (not marked, preview, wishlist and wishlist+preview)
But you are taking away 2 of those options/piles.

Yes, we can preview as many cards as we like, but can only keep the mark for 7 cards.
So we need a way to mark the cards that has been previewed.
A way to give it our own evaluation; is it a must have or a can do without -card.
Without it, I will need to preview my way through all 1500 cards I have not already bought (or at least the 200+ on my wishist), to decide which one is the next to buy. I can not afford to buy on impulse, so I need to know, my investment is the best possible...
That the preview of a given card may or may not start immediately, when played, is not useful.

To begin with i dont think i will ever understand why so many is so against changes and when things gets a fresh up and in my opinion all that have happened with this product involving the change to iStripper is if you ask me a great change and i have been a member since 2012 so i used VG for quite awhile myself.

Im sorry but i just cant see the "issues" that so many seem to have around the previews changes.

So just to add some positivity in all this id just like to say that all of you working over att Totem are doing a fantastic job and i really hope that you keep this up!! Dont give up on us!! :)

I get where Totem are coming from. They are selling variety NEW faces NEW talent because thats what market wants.
Holding unbought cards and waiting to make collections of maybe's or waiting for just one model to complete playlists by members does not turn over sales.
Since VG the navigation of the software to get the show you want once you are used to ***** cards/clips etc ~ has improved outstandingly imho. It gets better & easier the more you use it. Old VG users who won't buy probably need a single step by step tutorial on navigation tricks .

Edit:
Just a few thoughts on what Totem found with the freeloaders.

Possible reasons peeps don't buy ANY cards:
1. ~ Only looking for something for nothing
2. ~ From countries where payment is denied or difficult
3. ~ don't want others (banks/wives etc) to see they are paying for
4. ~ peeps who could not/will not, get a real credit payment account

and

Possible reasons peeps don't buy ANY except 1 card:
How many of these are from..

1. ~ got a free card in earlier versions ?
2. ~ used a fake or stolen credit card to commence ?
3. ~ wanted bank statement to show just one small payment and no more.

There are obvious means to vet these by checking histories
but Totem needs to show large member numbers as a sales incentive & for p2p.
Disincentivising the dead wood who sit only on demos could convert to sales
but to be realistic, the numbers involved should exclude peeps who cannot buy cards.
With other software, trial versions have expiry dates to filter this. No buy ~ no show

Re: Why people object to changes

Unless a change represents an immediate improvement and an immediate reduction in effort many people will object. Once someone establishes a fixed way of doing something they will object to a need to change that method even if it promises long-term benefits. If a capability that was useful is lost even if there is another way to achieve the same result, there will be objections. This is human nature.

I think iStripper continues to improve, but there are some capabilities that are important to me that I've lost and would like to see restored.

@Rex
Theres nothing wrong with adding cards to the wishlist, except that there are way too many cards there already. ;>)
So without having a way to add my personal mark to a card after previewing, I still have to preview all 200+ cards in my wishlist, to decide, witch to buy right now.
What I would like, is a custom "banner", like the NEW or the Preview, in which I can put f.ex. a number - like how bad do I want this card... Could also be a simple "Favorite" banner; that is how the preview (1.2.148) functions at the time for me. It tells me wich are my favorites on the wishlist.
After Preview, I would set the number in the banner or mark it as a favorite, so I have prioritized future investments. Timesaver.
(Could be a useful feature in the collection tab as well.)

Yes - I could limit the number on my wishlist. Which would probably also mean I would buy fewer cards.
It would also make the "Featured" section superfluous. That is where I find cards today. Look at the girl, the preview, the 8 available fotos, and sometimes the coments.
Today I have 3 options :
Cards I dont care about, I remove preview if downloaded and do nothing else.
Cards I like, and would like to buy at some time, I put on wishlist. If it is one I like a littel more than most, I keep the preview, so it is marked as a favorite on my wishist.
Others that I like but can not invest in, in the near future, also goes on the wishlist, but I delete the preview. This is also cards that f.ex. would complement a collection or a series.

If I can not mark my favorites on the wishlist, it would have to hold only my favorites. Otherwise, I would spend all my days looking at previews to decide, what to buy (A large number to choose from is both a blessing and a curse).
I would then have to look for new cards to put on the wishlist, when it becomes empty, among all the girls, rather than the "featured".
I use the wishlist as a kind of accumulator for cards I like and would like to buy. And cards marked as "Favorite" (Preview), are the ones that will be bought first.

Having only the wishlist for marking, is kind of dividing all the cards into "don't like" or "must have" piles.
And that is very rude - I miss the "like, and will buy, when the current must have pile runs empty".

Hope this makes some kind of sense ;>)
