I noticed a Thread/Post today from PussyKat, I was wondering should Totem Have a special Coloured star for Models who post/chat in the Forum?

I Think that models chatting with members would be adding that personal touch to VG/DB. Models in stripclubs Always talk to the customers because its intimate and usually ends in a private one on one room. Enabling models to have a special coloured star would prove that members are actually chatting with a model and not just another member.

I like this idea. At the moment though I think there is only PussyKat that posts.

There are a few other models I know of who have profiles and at least a couple of those have posted on the forum in the past.

Some don't post on the forum though and seem to prefer contact through PM or chat with a select group of fans only. So perhaps those models don't particularly want their profiles known by all and sundry.

So although a good idea in principle, I don't think a specific star colour for identification would suit some of the models. Possibly the reason the idea has never been implemented.

I am in favour of the idea in principle. One good reason to have a separate colour is so we know that it is the model (or a direct representative) rather than some bloke with a beard from the public pretending.

But it would only work anyway if the models were interested in communicating with us on the forums. I assume that Totem would have done it already if there were models that were interested. Although Totel may also have reasons not to do this. For example, it would be embarrassing and damaging for them if a model criticised Totem using their special status.

Even PussyKat does not say much. She only gives a few short messages, posts some promotional photos and provides some web addresses. However, I appreciate even this little direct contact.

It may be possible that PussyKat and others prefer to have private accounts as that means they do not feel obliged to respond. I can imagine some members being very demanding and then getting upset when model does not respond to their personal message. Giving the models a separate status may give the impression that models should respond to them personally.

Look at PussyKat. She has hundreds of friends and her message box is full. This is likely to happen for all odels who receive a separate account.

I suspect that a few models may set up private accounts just to browse the forums and comments out of curiosity and a minority may even post anonymously.

Giving a special star and colour may give the members the impression that models have an obligation to chat to us and respond. So some models may not be keen on that.

In the end, i am sure that if the models really asked for their own colour and star to communicate with us, they would have already done so and Totem would probably oblige.

This is my reasoning behind starting this poll.
I noticed Pussykat's thread/posts and realised that it was indeed PussyKat, Not a general public member using That name. I went through 50 pages of members the other day and noticed several members with models names though most were obviously just fanatical members. Now I don't want to disrespect anyone or Accuse any member of inpropriety but lets say a member who is slightly geriatric but financially endowed is lead away from the site by a member posing as a model, Who then takes advantage of that member. Now I don't believe that anyone else should feel responsible for any member who is not cautious on the net, But would it not be in the sites interest to safeguard against such scam's?

Would members not want to have site approved chat sessions with the models?
maybe during breaks throughout their 2 day shoot to promote their cards with members and general socialising. Such events could be promoted through site news and monitoured during the 2 day event by staff. If the models get harrassed by a member totem could invoke bans which increase in duration per offence. Once the event is finished the team can close the thread so no further posts can be submitted, But members can still view the content.

In the instance where PussyKat or any other Models chat on-site, The Totem team could provide their accounts with the power to only except chat messages/emails from people in their friends list. Though they can still chat via posting in threads. As it stands with PussyKat's account anyone can send her an email, If her account had more power than her silver membership would she visit more often?

Personally I think its great that PussyKat is on-site, Her account also lead me to her own website where I can purchase her products if I so desire.

The ability to actually chat with the models of cards Members have collected would bring more members to the forum. It could very well increase Totems Income Revenue, Which would benefit members as well. Through new outfits, wider diversity in model nationality etc etc.

Any Member that disrespect the models or other members for that matter would be delt with by site staff, I do believe the site has a appropriate behaviour message and those who ignore it should feel Totems wrath.

This was discussed long ago. I agree in principle, but it is not realistic. Most of these girls doesn't speak English or speak it very roughly. This forum has been around for years and only a fistful of models cared to post and almost all only once.

Pussykat has been very nice adding content, but she is also selling her site and products.

What's in it for the models? Why should they spend time chatting to strangers for no gain. If Totem would offer a percentage for all the cards they sell with them, maybe you would see some self-promotion.

Several of these models also have live web-cam shows and get money talking to you. Why would they be doing it for free?

I know several models dislike to even being mentioned in the profiles unless the profiles are totally made up. They don't see themselves as celebrities and want to take distance from this activity as much as possible.

I also know from a model here that I had and have long and good chats with, that for every nice fan sending a PM, there were 50 sex-starved weirdos sending crap. That's why you see the mail boxes full, they quit reading the trash pretty soon. Freeloaders, for unknown reasons, can send PMs and invite friends to the chats. They are not even active users or customers, so they won't gonna lose anything if they only clog the PM's box or insult or ***** the models.

Pussykat has been nice enough, and that didn't stopped one dude here to attack her in the forums about her lack of "class", in his words.

When I was contacted by the model I was talking about, I asked around about her profile being real and I found out.

I, on the other hand, agree about users with a model's user name and a pic from that model in their profiles. It's against the rules to impersonate other person, so those users should get another user name once detected, IMO.

If the models want to get public is their choice. If a star was ***** to them, me thinks they likely would refuse to have an account or they will remain totally absent anyway or ask for their pm boxes to be unreachable.

I kinda like the ideal, but what if the models don't want that special treatment or to be bugged by thousands of butthole web surfers as I would see it \m/

I have thought about this a little more, and think it would be a good idea to have special status and medal colours for models that wish to have them.

However, such status would have restrictions that make the profile more like a mini-fan page. So I would suggest the following changes making them different from a standard member:
  • The model does not have friends. Instead, the members can sign up as fans if they wish in the same way as in Facebook.
  • PMs to the Model would be blocked to everyone with the exception of a few people. Normal members would not be allowed to PM the model. Only restricted members such as assigned staff and Mods can do so.
  • In the unusual event that a model may want to converse with a specific ember via PM, then the model could have an option to unblock a specific account.
  • There could be a space in the model profile for the model to leave a message, updaye or comment for her fans.

I think this is the only way this would work.

However, even this will not be satisfactory. If you institutionalise the model profiles in this way, members may start to think that it is Totem and not the mmodels themselves who are communicating with them.
