Cannot try it now since I working on getting the "too many installs" reset from customer support, but I thought I would confirm with the pros out there.

I have a netbook that I would like to contain my second install. In order to save disk space, I just want this netbook to have just a small set of my collection at any given time. My main PC has my full collection. Should my setup on my netbook be to NOT automatically download trailers and full shows in the downloads tab and just use the "download her now" option from the my collection tab of the girls I would like to have stored on the netbook only?

hello @vdrummer i think is possible, if you remove automatique download yes. and is not you can alway not give the permission to download manager to have acces to internet then the programme can't download, look in the firewall for made one execption.

you can try too to remove the program download manager but i not test that.


edit - i delete the programme on my other account and i get only the message 'virtuagirl downloader.exe not found' i leave some day for test, and here i can't download other show or trailer and of course not automatique download.

ps: not forget to made a security copy of your folder VGHD/data. because with my methode you can't restore the models.lst if one day is corrupt. carrefool !!!

and of course you take the risk to test my solution and can't have any assurance.

for made your transfert :
made a copy of all your show and data folder.

erase with the program vghd all show you not want copy. control the space disk that take ajuste for the other computer. not forget leave some place for the systeme !!!!

after on the other computer install one time the program choose one easy location where you install like C:/VIR, when you have the hand go on download area desactive the 3 options, quit the program.

made the copy of the entire folder vghd/models you have clean before.
for the vghd/data copy all the folder in and only the file models.lst not the other files.

on the new computer after the copy made the security copy of all files in the folder vghd/data ps: no need to copy the folder in just copy the files.

delete or desactive 'better option i think' download manager.

start the program for test if you have acces at your show.

on the fist computer copy back the show and data you have erase and the file models.lst

You just need to disable all automatic downloads. If the netbook is networked with your main pc you can do a direct transfer of the files and then check for updates. There is a problem with initial install. It will try to download your entire collection. After the program is installed use the task manager process tab to end the virtuagirl_downloader program. go to you vg data folder and delete DLScript.cds and models.lst . Exit, Vg transfer the files you want to the models folder, and restart the program. I think it will automatically rebuild models.lst and show your transferred collection, if not click update now. Just curious what are your netbooks specifications. I didn't know you could install anything other than a browser and its add-ons they are so stripped down.

ps. I do not recommend alerts suggestion of not allowing firewall access or deleting the download manager. The program periodically checks your licence on the server and if this is not completed it stops working.

Nope, VGHD runs without internet connection, the only thing is that it can't update your rights and refreshing the calendar. The VirtuaGirl_downloader.exe must run to avoid the error 'VirtuaGirl_downloader.exe Not Found' on the Downloads tab, that's the interface for VGHD. But even without the exe VGHD works fine.

I could be wrong about the Internet thing. I saw it said some where, though I don't remember where. Perhaps the Internet problem was do to the model.lst corruption problems. Whether I am right about the Internet connection issue or not my instructions should help the poster.

hello @lsmithiii yes for that i say always we must made a copy of the file models.lst then we can't never lost the show. for secutiry a made all week the copy of all files in the folder data, of course when i get new show.

i test before out internet and my files models.lst is corrupt one time, but when i copy back the file models.lst all my show come back, sometime we must made several time the copy.

this is the 1 principe for computer user always made a copy !!!!!

I think New Version Now Creates New Models.lst each time the VGHD.exe is started.
So Must have an Internet connection, Or you Must save a Backup Copy, that you can restore if you don't have internet.

Without Internet, mine just keeps spinning and trying to Initilize.
Then Check Models.lst file, and it is gone..

Need to Hear from Totem, if VGHD will work when Internet is not working, or when on a Laptop with no Intenet connection.
