@HansSachs I agree with you about this. If this is good info for the French, it is also good for us simple English folk. Yes it was posted in the Discord channel, but some here that might try Discord in time will probably not see it. Better to be clear about risks and avoid this possible trouble.

Yes only applies for Discord members. But if an attack/hack has happened it could again, so best alert even non Discord members in advance.

The allure of photos is not enough for me to join Discord. Heck, I'm not even on Facebook.

Considering that after more than three months I have not found any interest, I would like to ask you to provide me with the exact procedure for the permanent deletion of my account from Discord.
I never liked it, I don't like it and I definitely won't like it in the future, so I see no reason to leave an open account on that platform.
If possible, avoid any comments about it: I would just like to confirm my right to be forgotten from a platform that I don't want to join more.

At discord, click to go to your settings. This is at the bottom left of every page when you are signed in.

The default item is the 'my account', which is what you want.

Scroll down to the bottom and you will see 'disable account' and 'delete account' both under 'account removal'.

I have not done this so I have no idea if it works, or works well, or if there is a confirmation pop-up.
