Not really bothered, but just wondering how many have this achievement? As I was up early thought I might give it a go today, but failed as you see - still greyed out. It was 9am UK / 10 am Paris time so I thought I might, but already @FatLegDeer0113 has had time to buy and make a comment, although I doubt had time to actually watch it.

Yes it's going to be a very small percentage that get it and I'm not bothered, just happened to be up and online. Also fairly sure the release today was one of interest.
As for percentage obviously depends on how many accounts exist. Many I reckon are dormant. I accidentally opened a new one the other day when I had to reinstall the app. I emailed support to close it and it was, but I bet there are many such accounts opened and never used.

So, given that the award has been given for every released card (or a close approximation thereto) you can use the quoted percentage to get an approximation of the number of users that Totem are using. You can do this for a few of the badges.

Well, assuming that the percentage, 0.32%, quoted is correct then on the face of it this is subject to an uncertainty 1 in its least significant digit, so any estimate of the total number will have a three percent uncertainty from this alone and there is what should be a rather smaller additional uncertainty in just how many times the award has been made. So the overall uncertainty in any calculated number will be significant but not very large.
Just what that number means, as you rightly point out, is a different matter.

In the girls store the cards appear a little bit earlier than at the releases section (Featured/Releases). So if you look there, at one day you will have this achievement.

@TheEmu so just for fun 1,531,250 is the number of accounts then based on 4900 cards in store and the 0.32% figure.
Plus or minus however much uncertainty you can handle.😄

Exactly.
I was up, one night (cards get release at night in Quebec), and decide to go for this achievement, again (i try many night). Checking the store, in the software, and synchronizing with the server every 20 seconds or so, and i bought every cards as soon as one appear...and got lucky.

Not every day someone gets this badge ... If someone already has it earlier and buys the first one, no one gets it on a given day
I was also assuming the same thing. The achievement is to be "the first one to buy the card", NOT "the first one to buy the card, that does not already have the achievement".
As a percentage is used instead of a count we cannot determine that 4900 individual users that have earned this achievement. Plus the users themselves will only know the first time, if they are the first one to buy a card.

Yes, I did make a mistake in assuming that there was a badge awarded for each card and should have spotted that flaw for myself.
In the past it was probably a reasonable approximation as the number of customers is much larger than the number of cards and there was no reason for people to try to get cards the second that they are released (and there is no reason for people now to continue to do so after they get the badge, though one or two do seem to do so) but there probably were some duplicates. I suspect that prior to the award being introduced that most of the first purchasers were in Europe as the release time is more convenient for them than for most people elsewhere. I'm not sure if the fact that people all over the world are now actively trying for the badge (and will mostly stop doing so when they get it) makes much difference or not but it should help a little to reduce "double firsts". (Or Totem could introduce a "double first" degree badge and complicate matters).
