This is a query I have, not necessarily concerning Links only, but ANY external subject matter like a quote from another website, or something else....
When I find anything elsewhere, that I want to ***** and drop into a post, it just doesn't work, and there is a watermark of a Cloud appearing on the post I want to insert said external quote or phrase or whatever......
I find this yet another frustration, so does anyone know why this is, and how can it be overcome...???
Ta....!!!...........

Are you using a simple copy/paste method ?

Have you tried to highlight what you want to copy, use CTRL+C to copy it and then CTRL+V to paste it here in the forum text box ?

That usually works for me when other methods fail.

Personally, I used to always just use right click for copy and pasting items.

The newer forum doesn't always allow this. If you click on the "" quote button and then try to right click and paste the text, you have to do some editing to make it work. The text invades the preset quotes.

However, as @91 said, you can hit the quote button and then Ctrl+V to paste and this works perfectly for me every time now :)

The " cut and paste " option did occur to me early on, but that always seems like a long winded way of doing something that USED to be so straightforward and easy.........I can't really see why the software does not allow for the ***** and drop.........It used to.........it seems that every couple of steps forward, includes at least ONE step backwards with something that should be easy peasy................ 😕
