well i noticed this too, ages ago and i think its because the resolution on the 3k's is so big.

to fix it under settings tab/desktop i changed full size to 88%

my desktop res is also 1920x1080

If you have a 1080p screen there is not much point downloading the 3K files because you won't see any more detail in them. Sticking with the 1080p setting would probably be better for your screen and storage space. It doesn't mean if you get a 3K or 4K screen in future you cannot switch and download the higher resolution because you can do. When you buy a card you have access to all available formats it comes in.

My laptop is a 15" 1366 x 768 (amd)
My desktop is a 20" 1600 x 900 (intel)
My hdtv is a 40" 1920 x 1080

but despite all that I do notice that the 3K cards are much more clear and crisp regardless of the screen size...it also depends on your specs??? For the tv I use hdmi and it looks AWESOME! :D

anyway...I wish there was an app for my android lol

Totem encodes the cards so a standing girl can just about touch the top of the screen when she waves her hand above her head. Sometimes they make a mistake and the girl appears larger than she should. This can happen if the girl walks toward the camera.

You can try a simple experiment. One your 1080p screen with a 1080p card set VG to display one card in large size at 90% and set the "never exceed 100%" control in advanced settings to OFF. Now, while that card is playing a standing clip, turn the "never exceed 100%" control ON. The girl will probably appear a bit smaller. You can experiment with the large size setting. For most cards a setting of about 75% shows no change with "never exceed 100%" ON or OFF.

Any time you play a card at a size larger than the nominal size, VG will scale the image up and it will blur a bit. For small increases this isn't noticable. If you played a 3K version of the same card it would look the same up to the 75% size and it would look a bit better than the 1080p version for settings greater than 80%.

On a 1080p screen you can really see this effect by playing a 720p version of the same card and then switching to the 1080p version. The "natural" size of the 720p card will be about 50% of full screen and playing that card at 90% will show noticeable blurring.

I have three displays. The largest is 4K. I've done a fair amount of experimenting. I even stood my 4K display in portrait mode for a while. I could see some bluring of 3K cards played at 95%, but the image was spectacular when the model stood in the center of the stage. However, she would often disappear by walking to the side.

Hope this helps

80% for me on both laptop and desktop for full view without exceeding the screen size...can't remember about my tv though...

I usually tinker between the small and big size though depending on the situation/workflow :)

For me, these days I almost exclusively watch my 3K cards. I too have a 40" 1080P TV as my monitor. Granted, a smaller sized monitor won't really show any difference between 1080P and 3K but at 40", I truly CAN see the difference :) So, if you have a good sized screen and the HDD space, I recommend the 3K versions every time.
I have my desktop setting at 90% and this usually keeps the girls on screen ;)

The 3K shows are the best on my laptop and the models body parts don't go out of bounds on 110% max in full size.
I have an intel HD graphics 4400 on my laptop which does just about anything. it even runs Final Fantasy XIII-1, 2, and Lightning Returns flawlessly. Something that took me for a pleasent surprise with my mid range laptop which is I5. And the models in 3K are not all pixely when I zoom in with the magnifier.

Like nerf or nothin...high defintion or nothin! Lol well I just wanted to say that...it's not always practical...especially if you don't have a gang of external hard drives...but if you do I recommend Western Digital...those are my personal fav :D

and yeah when they aren't close up I can briefly raise the percentage before they start to go off the screen...

...currently watching Alina "clean up my desktop" :P (Open Your Heart)

@pianogrinder

my graphics card is AMD Radeon HD 8650G...I play Starcraft 2 a lot and it runs well on medium...granted I bought this laptop mostly for general purpose and not mainly for gaming and stuff like that...but yeah there are many factors to consider when wanting better resolution etc.... :]

I think Lloydn http://www.virtuagirl.eu/userProfile.php?usLogin=v19894612 wasn't ***** about resolution but the well known scaling issue of VG that has nothing to do with resolution (since the software scales the clip relative to the screen size - the clip resolution is not of interest here). Currently there is no solution to let the girls appear at the same size. But as previously mentioned you can scale the clips to ~80% so that no heads get cut off (but other girls will appear unnecessarily smaller though). Totem has mentioned that the new VG4 software will offer a solution (somewhere in a discussion thread - no official announcement whatsoever).
