I have been a member for quite some time now and I am currently a platinum member. And in an effort to keep this discreet with no "paper trail", I have always gone to a local grocery store/department store/***** store and used cash to buy a pre-paid Visa or Mastercard gift card. And I have always purchased credits using these with no issues. However, recently I ran into an issue where the gift card wouldn't work. And after doing a bit of research I believe there was a law passed here in the U.S recently that says that no pre-paid or otherwise potentially anonymous cards can be sold in the U.S. for purchases outside the U.S.

Has anyone else come across this issue? And if so, how are you getting around it? I have contacted customer service and the fine people here at Totem suggested sending my payment in the mail with a check or moneyorder, which I suppose I could do. But I was just wondering if anyone else has ran into this issue and found alternative measures for making payments and getting credits.

Thanks!

This site: http://www.giftcards.com/gcgf/giftcards-work-internationally
says some cards can be used internationally and gives some examples. I am surprised that most gift cards, as you say, cannot be used internationally. I called American Express. They told me that their gift cards are domestic use only and that really surprises me. I cannot find this explicitly stated, but the vibe I am getting is that fees rather than legal prohibitions are the issue. The gift card issuer wants to suck some money from the merchant who receives the payment. I *suspect* this is hard or impossible in some overseas transactions, perhaps due in part to some recent law. This would also explain the "foreign payment" fees that some of my credit cards now charge me.

VG a.k.a. I Stripper Admin Staff, I could hug you and kiss you all over {But that may be because of the lack of having to buy cards for 1 to 2 years, Have to catch up 😉 }

My account has stayed at 0.88 Cents since my last card being Mia Sollis (Heat Stroke) & Lucy Li (Mistress Lucy)

Finally...as a ditch effort to see if it would work, I had a Visa Gift Card with a few measly dollars on it (2 to 4, Nothing special, enough to buy one or two drinks) and went to the "Buy Credits" option, picked the lowest,
and ..................

IT WENT FREAKING THROUGH!?! Has Hell Frozen Over, or Something!?!

I don't think so, most likely the credit card company FINALLY (Took them long enough) accepted I Stripper as being a company from the UNITED STATES.

I figured as much.... In my last posts on the subject and to admin staff about how the united states laws work with International Companies with offices in the united states.

If you have the Proper identification & documents that show you are paying bills/taxes in the U.S.A. your residency in the United States is confirmed.

VG / I Stripper Staff Confirmed they had submitted the proper documents to get accepted as "In the U.S.A." (From their Offices in Las Vegas, NV).

Just it didn't take until NOW or until the United States Goverment accepted them, and then the Credit card companies to have them "Green Lighted" for allowing gift cards to be used.

It's Good to be back, just didn't think it would work, but Suprise, Suprise IT FREAKING DID!!! XD

"Do or Do Not, Their is no try." Yoda

P.S.
Just Like my Profile Picture, I'm Smiling fit to burst. ;D

Sadly, DarkRider, either I am doing something wrong, this option is available for only the cheaper purchases, or, more likely, US gift cards are once again no longer an option at this point.
When I first saw your post over a month ago, I tried just as you- a few measly dollars I had left on a gift card. To my surprise it went through just fine. I was ecstatic! Now, once again, I tried to add 50 (500?) credits, and this did not go through with any of the billers.
Oh well, maybe one day!

Interesting... Looks like the low credits go through, but... 50 credits for 50 usd isn't working.

That's sad :(

But...still better than the run around i've having with epoch paypal service.

Honestly... Can't Epoch just do what I can do with other "male interest" retailers and have it charged directly to my paypal account instead of insisting to include a credit card as well, sheesh...

P.S. I don't know if it is "only" for small change charges, but I will do experiments to see if the 50 credits is possible with a "certain" card company.
Or

Their are additional charges and a 50 usd card can't cover the cost, who knows...

Only CARDS that are Registered to a Person, can be used for internationl purchases.
Anonymous Cards ( Gift Cards, that aren't registered to a person ) can't be used.

Here is the Type of Card you can use:
Funds can be loaded on the card with Cash, or from a bank account transfer, or even from a Credit Card transfer.
The Card is NOT attached to your bank account.
but it is Registered to your name, and that is the Crucial part that allows them to be used for international Purchases.

https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/consumers/find-card-products/prepaid-cards/travel-card.html

How it works
Get a card: Purchase a card online or at a participating bank.
Activate and register: Call the phone number on the card packaging to activate and register†.
Load: Add funds to your card in-store at the time of purchase or online.
Use: Make purchases everywhere Mastercard debit cards are accepted.
Reload: Add more funds to your card with rePower.

If Totem opens a Business Office in the USA, and the 3rd party Billiers have a Branch in the USA, then Gift cards might work...

There has got to be a way around this by now. A virtual refillable card of sorts that can be purchased online, based in the country of the purchaser and able to purchase internationaly.

I was looking into crypto but that seems to be a bigger headache than it's worth. Good Lord there has to be a way.

A virtual refillable card of sorts that can be purchased online, based in the country of the purchaser and able to purchase internationaly.
That is called Money Laundering and is exactly why the International banking laws do not allow it.

As a consumer, we think this should be easy, why can't it be done..
but if a consumer can do it, then so to could criminals.

Say I just stole 1 million dollars US and want to Laundry it to Euro's
I'd set up a fake company in the EU with a Fake online product that cost 88.80eu ( $100 )
Then I pay 1000 people $10 each to go on line and buy 10 of these Items on the fake web site, using Pre Loaded Virtual Cards.

So it would cost me $10,000 to Laundry $1,000,000 and convert it to Euros

Anything simple for the consumer will be taken advantage of by the criminals.
