@jununger:
I wouldn't know what to say, maybe Apple uses only one draft contract that fits from time to time to the country in which it is applied;
I can only rejoice in the fact that in Italy we have no DRM, abolished by law years ago.

@shodan084:
I also am glad to see my VGirls dancing with my mp3 tracks… totally DRM free (!)…

Have a good time you all!

=)

Personally I use Spotify with VGirl as an external player... works perfect for me! I pay 5€ per month and have full access to their +30 Million song catalogue... No need to rip or convert anything =)

Guys, as I said before, it’s a nightmare. You could have rules in one country, that say explicitly one thing which overrides the sellers own country laws and vis versa.

That's why copyright lawyers are some of the highest paid lawyers. So you are not going to get a consensus here.

This all goes back to the saying if a tree falls in the wood and no one is there does it make a sound? If you copied your itunes account to a offline computer decyrpted and converted how does anyone know if it has been done or not. The question is not if it is legal or not, it is how bad do you want your music.

A law is only law til some monkey in a suit thinks otherwise. All the money America has spent on ***** prevention/enforcement and now it is being sold (on a state by state consesus)

You are right, this is a jungle and different countries have different laws. Add to that the fact that some parts of the EULA/TOS of Itunes, as an example, may be null and void in one country but valid and enforced in another. It all comes down to a battle over the right to control the arena...

Welcome to the global village =)

OK......Are we done with all the legal mumbo jumbo ??
We should be

I found a very short tutorial on you tube explaining how to use iTunes to convert your music to MP3 format. It's in the preferences settings and gives you options on what format you want when sliding a cd in for ripping. The guy changed the setting to MP3, went into his library, picked a song, copied it within his library and it gave him an MP3 version of the song right under the original format.

Seems that if it's a tool they provide it's perfectly fine to use it.

Here's another one. Gives a little more info and has better video quality.
