Very pleasantly surprised by the most recent Lucy Li solo card #88. Sound levels were clear and audible at normal volume settings for my system. The team have obviously worked hard on sorting this problem that had been commented on previously and Totem had acknowledged. Let's hope this marks a permanent improvement and that future cards benefit from such attention to detail.
It is unfortunate about the noise from the raised stage. Totem have explained that before and I know from experience acting on stage that a void space below, unless the staging is high quality and rigid material, can amplify unwanted sound. The only way I was able to save a recording made at an amateur play once was to scrub along the sound track and attenuate the volume at the precise moment of the unwanted noise then immediately revert it. Maybe that is an option the team could look at, although I appreciate it will add to the post-production time. Once you become adept at the technique it really doesn't take that long.
