Just thought I'd start a thread to let us share some fresh tunes that go just right with a beautiful VG girl doing her thing!

Here's my first suggestion:

"Little Blu House" by Unknown Mortal Orchestra

It's a blissfully retro song that has an amazing video that goes along with it if you watch it on the Pitchfork TV site but you can also find it on YouTube, but just the music... the video is a little too risque for the general public :)

I hope more folks will share what's new and hot and playing on a VG desktop screen near you! ;)

Another brand spanking new track that sounds great when put to the VG test:

French electronic-dream-pop band, M83 has a new song called "Midnight City" that will be on their upcoming new album in October. It is great! I always used to enjoy going to a strip club and seeing a dancer dance to something out of the ordinary. This song certainly qualifies, but its catchy enough that you'll be humming it later.

Again, it's playable through YouTube, but the band's website is actually giving the track away for free to promote the album.

By the way, I've tested this song on several VG girls and have yet to find one it doesn't go well with. Ok, well maybe not Silver ;)

Hey! Glad you both dug "Midnight City"! I'm kinda hooked on it myself and can't wait for the whole album!

Another cool new track is Tom Vek's "A Chore" from his first album in years. It's typical of his offbeat sound with an odd rhythm but I think for the purposes of VG stripping and dancing it works just fine :)

Here are some not so new tracks, but some that always have a place on my permanent VG playlist:

Deadmau5 "Ghosts N Stuff"
Ladytron "Destroy Everything You Touch"
Miike Snow "Animal (Punks Jump Up Remix)"
Justice "Phantom Pt II"

and last but not least, if you want your girl to rock...
Pinky Tuscadero's Whiteknuckle Assfuck "I'm Gonna"
(hard to find anywhere but the band's website because of their "unique" name, but it's a head-banger!) ;)

Awesome new song by Charli XCX called "Nuclear Seasons" goes great with any VG uptempo routine! You can find the awesome video for the song on YouTube and I think it's a free downloadable mp3 at the moment too, if I'm not mistaken! Enjoy! :)

This just happened randomly and I laughed so much I had to post it.

Song: Village people - YMCA
Show: Mona - Sexy Ahoy

Also discovered the other day,

Song: ZZ Top - Legs
Show: Alina - Home Alone

I should note in both cases it's the standing clips these work best with.

Hope I'm not too far off topic AUTiger but yours was the first song thread I came across.

I like to play Shoutcast radio stations like HBR1 & DigitallyImported Chillout with Winamp and I enjoy mixing sound reactive 3D visualization presets in a window as background to VG animations while I re-code / remash. Some favs incl. DJ SILENCE - Beach, Marco Torrance and any of Francofunghi's work.

I have tried VirtuaGirlSong.mp3. The loop version that came with version 1.1.0.84 of the VGPlayer.

I wonder if that can't be reissued next player upgrade , so that the music starts at the beginning rather than somewhere in the hook. Maybe someone from the Team will read this...just a thought ;)

There is a file called VirtuaGirlSong.xml
just remove that file or rename it..
Then it will Always start at the beginning..

Or you Can Edit that File....

I wrote some Info about it Here:

Thanks @Wyldanimal. I was hoping clip editing team could also have a look at trying to sync start of clips to commencing bar structures of music.

Wow, your pdf file (above) explains how I can join any sequence of my mp3 tracks together into one long file to play. And now I can get any clip to start with the start of a new song. All by editing the XML file. Didn't know that was so easy. Thanks a lot @WA.

That was some time ago... 10/20/2012 ( just looked at the date of that post)
It took me a little time to figure out what the XML values were.
After Concatenating a few songs into One large MP3,
I couldn't get my Songs to Start at the correct Timings, Until I realized,
they are all based on the Fixed Bit rate of the First Song.
And If you Factor that Bit Rate into Bit Rate of the Other Songs you can calculate a Bit Rate Equivalent value for any Song.

If all your Songs have the Same Fixed bit Rate, it makes it a Lot Easier..

I had thought about writing a little program to do all of this, but for me,
It's simple enough just to manually do the calculations..

It was an awesome find for me that Day..

Combined with my Custom Screen savers, I now had custom music files, and it Breathed new enjoyment into VirtuaGirl again.

Funny Story:
the First VG, had Sound Snippets..
When an Animation started, a Sexy Voice played a sound bite.
I recorded them, and included them as part of my Music files.
They became my Entry Points, so when a clip started, the first thing I heard was one of these sexy Sound bites.. then some music.

The New WakeUpGirls App, reminds me of these old VG Sound bites..

I think I will record some new ones...
and Make some new Music Files.

As I said, * if the editors at Totem can try to edit their clips to start at the dancer's filming-song beat bar sequences, it will be great to have any card clip commencing in sync with the start of the songs we decide to put into the VGPlayer.

To avoid all the factoring your .pdf mentioned in order to edit say, a NewMusic.xml easily, I might just try to stay with a standard 128 bitrate for my mp3's here, so I'll use a 128 kbps fixed bit rate for music i put into the player "~Settings ~Sound & Music ~Music Files " in future.

I should be able to easily convert any new concatenated music files into straight 128 kbps bit rate using the free open source cross platform Audacity v2.0.5. http://audacity.souceforge.net/ and find the starting points for each song on the fly.

I am hoping similar ideas * about synchronisation of dance and music can be applied somehow in slowing down or speeding up the animations to suit music in iDancer, whenever it is released.

Thanks for your help @WA.;)

Very interesting reading on the synchronisation of the music and the clips Wyldanimal, Cheers! I'm going to have to have a play with this too and start making up some track lists for certain clips too! :-) Audacity is great for pasting lots of tracks together and saving as one large mp3...theres lots of fun to be had here! :-)
