Does "insulting" = "offensive"?

Browsing across various cards and comments moments ago, I stumbled across a very insulting comment left by a member about a particular model and her card that I found insulting and degrading. Not to me, but to her.

For some strange reason I pictured her reading it somewhere, sometime and getting her feelings ***** and it made me mad, so I reported it as offensive.

Was I wrong to do this? I mean we are free to have our own opinions and the site allows us to post these as we wish, but...

If by reporting it, I broke some sort of rule, then I'm sorry but I just didn't and don't see the need for an opinion, even if it's not positive, to be ugly.

@AUTiger,

With an international formal, that crosses language and cultural boundaries sometimes it can be hard to tell.

What the mods have tried to encourage is for people to have an opinion and feel safe to use it.

However, the ability to say what you think does noty always make it right, and just because one individual thinks it OK to comment negatively on a subject, they still have to respect the opinions and beliefs of other members.

That is why we take action against insulting or ***** behaviour when we see it.

A member can disagree say on a model, without using ***** or shall we say colourful language to make their point.

And no, it is never wrong to report a post if you thing it offensive, or even to send a PM to a mod about it.

@Cartref

Thanks for your post! You, more than most, understand the difference between a critical or negative opinion and one that's just plain mean. And as a moderator, you see examples of both on a daily basis, so your thoughts are appreciated!

Bing a moderator, does not mean you always get it right, only that you TRY to get it right.

Over the last months, I personally have let things go a bit easy, not wanting to be too hard and others have paid the price, no longer.

The T & C's are there to cover all and if some do not want to respect them, then regardless of their own personal background, country of origan/residence or culteral background, their actions and posts will be reviewed against the policies of this forum and if necessary, action will be taken.

@AUTiger,
As Cartref comments, it is often difficult to tell.

I think your action was entirely right. Your action alone is not sufficient to amend the comment. Your action will a) help raise a potential issue to the moderators and b) for the cases that are not black and white, it helps the moderators balance the rights of the individual against the need for community respect.

I agree that there is no need for ***** or ***** here. If you do not particularly like a card, then say just that and no more.
I've been a member for just over two months, but I find the more I see the more I appreciate the efforts of ALL girls to entertain us. Even those I don't particularly find attractive.
I think all members should feel gratitude towards every model, and towards those responsible for booking each one. Collectively VGHD provides us with a cross section of some of the most attractive girls on the planet, even if most are from eastern Europe.
