/home/howard/is_data/please double check that in your Address bar in Nemo after you have created that Directory.

First of all your default File manager in Mint is Nemo,
In Mint Mate, the default File Manager is Caja. In Cinnamon it is Nemo.Right ... i forgot that Mint is providing several Desktopenvironment's too :)

Are you suggesting I run the models and backgrounds on a media player?
