Although I normally run with the GUI at its maximum size but sometimes, depending on what I am doing with the GUI, I run it with a smaller window (e.g. to compare what I see in My Collection with something in another window).

Currently the program's minimum window size is larger than I would prefer as it is wider than half my laptop's screen width. Could you please consider allowing us to use a smaller GUI window - even if this was at the expense of overlapping texts in the header line.

The entire UI in the new version is blurry for me.

Probably because I use a high resolution natively and upscale to have bigger fonts via the Windows slider.

Is there any way to get rid of that problem?

When I click on any of the news items in the Beta version it takes 5 seconds or more to load and show the related page. When I do this in the current version it is almost instant.

Aha, I see that too. It looks like everything on the feature page is loaded from scratch whenever you access it or anything FROM it. And there is a lot of stuff on that page to load. It is not like the old app where it was all loaded and retained and updated if needed.

That might not be the optimum way to handle this.

I think it may be a matter of things not being cached until you have first looked at them, I have only used to Featured page to go to some other page but although the first time I followed a link in the News section it was slow if I went back to the featured page and followed the same link it was very quick.

A very very ***** thing.

The text on the initial splash screen that says "the girls are fitting into their skirts" is a very odd way of expressing it.

More normal would be a phrase like "the girls are getting into their skirts" or "the girls are putting on their skirts",

@Dfner

I made this video with you in mind, but it is for anyone who is having a similar issue.

1) check your registry setting to find out where the app thinks your Data folder is.it might be different than the one you are looking at.https://www.istripper.com/customdata/forum/2023-05-18/ceTTWTG6.png

2) there are 6 .png images used to put the star sticker on the cards.so you need to check all 6 images are the correct ones.https://www.istripper.com/customdata/forum/2023-05-18/MeqrWFb6.png

in the basic folder
the images should only be the orig. ones.

in a skin folder
you can place custom images to use.
if you change the basic images
then it changes them for Every Skin that doesn't include custom images.

Orig SEC stars

Custom SEC stars
https://www.istripper.com/customdata/forum/2023-05-18/EOTEHJGn.png

https://wyldanimal.com/videos/SEC-STAR-tags.mp4

if you need a copy of the 6 SEC star files, I have them here
https://wyldanimal.com/videos/SEC-watermarks.zip

@Wyldanimal

Thank you for your help in this. My registry is pointing to the correct data-folder, so that checks out. Also I do have all the six image files and their file dates are same as yours (November 8, 2022). Just in case, however, I replaced my same six files with the ones you had zipped, but it didn't change things.

One funny thing I noticed is that after I had reverted back to 1.2.360, I couldn't select basic skin at all. In Settings/Change Skin the basic-skin wasn't selectable (same thing with some other skins as well) even though the folder was present as before (...vghd\data\skins\iStripper\basic). When I changed back to this new beta, basic-skin was selectable again. I will have to check again, whether both software versions have the same paths...

My star tags (those 9 that are left) are all on the top right corner whereas they apparently should be on the left as in your video. For example, on the card of Niemira's only SEC the star is covering the card number in my collection.

I noticed that you have a file called "watermarks.txt" in your "...skins\iStripper\basic\cards\watermarks"-folder. I don't have such a file. Is that possibly a file that software is reading from or is it something unrelated to this issue?

And then I have those vertical "iStripper" and "iStripperXXX" stickers on every card (seems to be from "deskbabes_2016.png" and "virtuagirl_2016.png"). Every single e-series card in my collection, including the very latest releases, show that vertical iStripper-logo on top-left (red "i", black "Stripper"). except those few early ones that have Marc Dorcel-logo there. For f-series, cards f0001-f0127 have "iStripperXXX" horizontally on bottom-left. All the rest have the vertical "iStripperXXX" on top-left.

Currently I am very busy and cannot run my main laptop on which istripper is installed.

Is there any way that the post by @Wyldanimal containing the how to videos can be kept at the top of a thread so that it can easily be found in a few days when I will have time to view them?

Thanks

About my posts regarding wrong or missing stars on SEC and wrong / old-style watermarks on even the latest released cards: this doesn't seem to be related to this new beta version 1.2.510 since I have the same problem also with at least 1.2.360 and 1.2.378. And I might be the only one ***** from all this.

So, if mods think those posts should be moved to some other thread, that's fine by me.

I also just opened a ticket with support trying to describe the issue.

@Dfner

I know what your issue is.
When you downloaded the software, You must have added a Hyphen followed by a name or a number
to the file you saved.

Then you used this Hyphenated Setup file to Install it.
For example: I often save them like this.
setup-iStripper-12510.exe

But I make a copy of this and rename it just to
setup-iStripper.exe
and I install from that copy.

WHY?
the Hyphenated part on the End is Used to Create a Partner version using a different set of Graphics
Including the Tags used on the card.

If the Partner Folder that Matches the Hyphenated Name, can't be Found
it uses a different set of Stickers ( grabbed from the server ).
https://www.istripper.com/customdata/forum/2023-05-18/LaFx1Pw9.png

How to Check:

Go Look at this registry Branch.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Totem\vghd\DLM
Look at the Key
whiteLabel

https://www.istripper.com/customdata/forum/2023-05-18/OOphu4uC.png

is it Blank, or does it have a value?
It SHOULD be blank if you installed using
setup-iStripper.exe

but it will have a value 12510
if you installed using
setup-iStripper-12510.exe

how to fix it:
install using a copy without the hyphenated name
setup-iStripper.exe
or
Quit iStripper
and Clear out the value in the Key
whiteLabel
then restart iStripper.

Issue Solved.

Wow... That really was the issue - I blanked the value "12510" from registry as you instructed and now everything looks as it should: the stars are there on SEC (current style, not old) and also the other watermarks are updated as they should.

Thank you very much for your patience and for finding out where the issue was! 👌👍

And as I mentioned a while ago, it ended up having nothing to do with this beta version itself. That's good to know.

I'll cancel my ticket with the support now.

But shouldn't the software be updated in some way so that your issue isn't repeated?

@mkst

I don't think there's really any need for an update in software itself. The whole issue was that I had changed the installation file name from the original to something else (although I can't remember when or why :) ) Apparently if you don't do that, you won't end up in the same trouble that I was in. And if you update your software within Settings page (as most surely do with finished software versions), you don't have to worry about such a thing.

But of course it wouldn't ***** to share Wyldanimal's information to anyone downloading beta version installation file (= "do not change the file name" or something similar).

@pickle1

Indeed I admit :)

well yes you would still keep the issue.
Updates from within the setting page, would apply that same registry value to the update.

Let's say you had a legitimate Partner copy of the app.
when you update using the settings, it will keep that Partners graphics.

Freeones is an example:
https://www.istripper.com/customdata/forum/2021-02-26/B2yUnJlr.png

so you would want the partner graphics to still be there after an update.

I deleted all my cards and have been downloading them and deleteing the clips I dont want lately. I downloaded the beta and continued to do what I have been doing. I downloaded all sonya blazes cards and disabled the clips I did not want on the first card and Istripper crashes (not surprized at all it crashed...) anyways now all her cards show as not downloaded when I know they are. So here is a bug report for you. youre welcome 😆.

Just sounds like poor software practice to have a different installation based on setup file naming differences. Seems like a command-line option would be more appropriate.

Does the file renaming problem for the set up file only occur if you puy a hyphen (-) in the name?

I always save the files with the the beta or full version name and install them from the renamed file. I tend to only use underscores for the file name.

For example for the the current beta release I saved it as "setup-istripper_Beta_1_2_510.exe".

I have always done this so I can easily keep track of versions in case I ever need to revert to an older version.

I've previously not noticed any problems using this method of renamimng and installing.

I have always named the installation file like this:
setup-istripper 12376
The current version wants (defaults) to be saved as this:
setup-istripper_5M70GqfKlo6SACBrgD9HIDtK
This came from the website just a minute ago.

I have never had a problem with the installation.
I checked the registry hours ago and found the registry value to be blank (nothing there).

edit:
I always save the installation file with the version number minus the periods/dots added to the name but never a hyphen/dash.

I think I answered my own question. I checked the WhiteLabel registry key and it is blank.😊

Seems like a command-line option would be more appropriate.

if you vist a partner web site and download the app,
how then would you know to use a command line switch to install their versions.

A single Installation file, just by using the file name, can install multiple client versions and multiple affiliate versions.

versions with filenames like this one
setup-istripper_rgD9HID5M70GtKqfKlo6SACB

have a specific purpose.
It's coded like that for a reason.

Maybe to give 25 credits along with the installation, or to include the 1st card with the installation.

So by Using the filename, it makes the installer very powerful.

One File, for all the different needs.
Just change the name.

I've been using this new version for a few days now. This evening my PC's fan started running high speed, which it has not done in my recent memory, if not ever. I brought up Task Manager and found that iStripper was taking up 16% of the CPU. Nothing else came close. I closed out iStripper and everything quieted down. Then I restarted iStripper couple of more times and it all happened again until I disabled or quit iStripper.

Anybody else had this happen?

Is this with the girls playing, or not?
I mean, does it happen when istripper is turned off (on/off button top far right)?

It only happens with the girls playing. If I turn them off everything calms down. This has only happened starting tonight. I'd had the new version for a day or two before this.
