This is the biggest thing for me. I created a custom image for each of the SECs I do not own. I expect to continue to see the custom image for the SECs. Instead the app changes them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, what you reported here is only a display problem. The music correctly plays but the first time they're added, they're not checked in the Music tab while you would expect them to, is that right?

It is only a display Issue.
Checked Music still plays as Intended, in Desktop mode
but the check boxes are not Displayed correctly.
( A different Issues in Full Screen or Screen saver only ONE song plays then the Music stops )

the app is downloading the standard Image and saving it over top of the aXXXX_custom.jpg
So that
a Member created custom image is no longer being used, it is replaced by the standard image.

obviously a side affect of a change in the app. Or a Bug as we call it.

Prior versions Searched the data folder for the card image to display.
if a aXXXX_custom.jpg was found, it was used 1st.
If no aXXXX.custom.jpg exists
Then If
a Non-Standard card image was found the correct card images was downloaded to replace it and used.

but something in the app changed, and now it is replacing the non-Standard aXXXX_custom.jpg with the standard one.

Obviously an unwanted side affect of something else.

Weird. I loaded the beta 516 and the forum screen was completely blank. I rebooted and now it is fine.

Confirmed music broken in fullscren mode. Plays only one sog.

I am using version 12514. I have not been asked to install a newer beta version.

I have had that happen quite often with beta 1,2 5.16, especially when I have gone to the Forum very quickly after the home screen first appears. If I wait until the top area scrolls three or so times then it never seems to happen.

I suspect that there is a timing issue with the program waiting for some event that actually happened before it started to wait and this is due to the program being multi-threaded.

I rebooted and now it is fine.

I never needed to reboot, just to quit and restart iStripper.

Ditto. I have neither been automatically updated nor invited to update. Nor have I seen any announcement that a new version of any kind is now available or what its status may be. The situation now is even more ***** that it was yesterday.

With regard tothe problem @vg4us reported. When it has happened to me I had the same solid white window (not the whole screen), not even the usual busy indicator commonly seen when something is hanging.

If auto-update is to become a peranent feature I would think informing the user that an update is available may be a good idea rather than silently updating.

I did not run into the forum issue on my laptop after updating to 516. I have been playingshows on my desktop for over an hour now with no problems. Laptop I started in fuullscreen and music stopped just like the desktop.

I have seen it quite a few times (well over a dozen using 514) but only when going from the Home page to the Forum immediately after the app starts. When I have managed to get the the forum once there has never been a repetition of the problem until I stop and restart the program.

My problem with 516 is that there has been NO announcement by Totem as to its availability and status (unless it was done on Discord which is of no use to me).

None of the pop-up tooltips on the settings page (the question mark icons) appear to be working. Nor do the few that I haave checked elsewhere.

I did not see it on discord either. By habit, I check for updates in settings in the morning.

No team member has mentioned anything about version 12516, or that a new beta is available. This is in the channel for beta testing.

I guess the team likes to keep members (including new members with no knowledge of testing betas) in the dark about some things. Not telling members that there is a new beta, and giving no warning that a beta is not necessarily a stable version, and that inexperienced users should not install does not seem like a good idea.

I can confirm this : no auto-update for the 1.2.516 version. I had to "Check for updates" in the settings to download and install this new version.

V 516 is targeted at NEW signups.
There was no Automatic update from 514 to 516 for this reason.
The Team needs to get feedback from New Members
so this is the reason that 516 is the Download from the Main Page.

You said something similar 514 - which then turned out to be a beta.

In my opinion If 516 is not a beta then there really ought to have been an offical announcement of that fact by Totem. Leaving it as an almost invisible option for existing users unless you go looking for it is silly.

As far as I can remember Totem did very visibly make an announcemeny for all previous official releases.

The team also needs to get feedback from old users, including those that avoid using beta versions of software. In my opinion feedback from existing users is rather more important than feedback from new users who have nothing to directly compare the new version with.

It is still not entirely clear to me whether 516 is a beta or not (though I lean toward "not").

Apparently .516 has some changes to setting up a new account that they wanted to test- and that only works well with new users. That's why they did not enable auto-update on that build for the rest of us. And also why it's on the web site for new users.

I don't buy it. By far the biggest problem that I am aware of with "setting up a new account" was with existing users who are updating or reinstalling iStripper accidentally clicking on the "new account" option when the setup program starts. I very much hope that that particular wart has been addressed.

If new users have never seen the old version how can they be expected to know if the new version is an improvement or not? So how are they expected to be able to provide meaningful feedback? Come to that how are they supposed to know that any such feedback is wanted?

They want to be sure it is easy to set up a new account, that's what is being tested.

Also, Guillaume just posted that "Dunno where that topic was raised, but this version also fixes 2 small bugs: the skin color in the header texts and the infinite loading splashscreen. If you need to have the corrections, feel free to get it from the website or from the update check in the settings"

My custom skin color in the header text actually doesn't work in .516 so I switched back .514 for now. I only just modified it yesterday so I will be sad if it doesn't work moving forward. I was just getting used to it even if it is a little weird. I have green text, red for cursor hover over text, and cream for selected. Oh well. 😕 😄
