How do I turn off the previews? They keep popping up uninvited.

On the previews page, below the play button on each model is a check mark. Click it, and the clip will be greyed out and will not play. I think you can also do it globally in the settings page, but using the first method, you can enable/disable each preview clip.
Also, you could just replace the preview clip you don't like with one that you do :)
