No, just adjust the scaling option in settings.

Or download a Card in 1080p and compare the difference...
Any resolution Card can be scaled to fit..
The End result Quality will determine what Resolution you want to download.

Using a 3K clip on a Lower resolution Screen, might cause Stuttered playback due to Processing needed for Scaling.

eh? blitting a framebuffer with scaling is really fast isn't it?

@Z22 - But in desktop mode the GPU is not used so there is no hardware supported blitting, just labourious CPU work. Why desktop mode still does not take advantage of the presence of a GPU is something only Totem can answer.

Thats odd, because my 3d utilization(task manager) says it's using the gpu while playing a girl on the desktop(i stop playback the util drops to 0), suppose it's a windows task manager being a pleb and reporting 2d as 3d.

It's cpu on the desktop and gpu on fullscreens scenes for Mr. Potato here. I remember this back when the registry edit for turning threaded rendering on/off was big to help choppy play back on the desktop.

I don't really think the OP has a issue, just a concern on the what resolution to download. Like @Wyldanimal said he'll just have to see what his system can handle. If his monitor is less than 3k ready, there really is no need to download 3k shows.

@Llodyn

The warning is a default so you know that 3k takes more disk space and cpu/gpu consumtion more or less. It will scale to fit either way it just may stutter like Wyld said.

@Dano70, if his display is higher than 1080p(it is) there is avery good reason to download the 3k, plus there not actually 3k 2880 x 1620. They are ~250 pixels shorter, measured unscaled floor to top of pole 1374. which is within his 1440p resolution.

There is some variance to the height of the pole but the tallest i have measured so far is 1497 and there is loads of pole above the girl. The original 4k video must have a truly massive pole above her head...lol, framing fail

From what I understand, the Studio is a Shared Space. ( both the temp, and the Main studio )
On non-iStripper production days, Other Artists are allowed to come in and use the Studio.
I could be wrong, but at least that is how I thought it was.

So the Team, essentially Sets up, the Camera position for Every Session, and that can lead to variations in the framing, focus, color balance, stage position. etc....

Table clips are called Table clips because the Actually Perform on Top of a Narrow Table.
Might be about 1 Meter in Height, 3 meters long, and about 1 meter in width.
All iStripperXXX ( deskBabes ) appera to have been filmed on top of the Table..
This was the cause of the loud Clunk, Clunk shoe sounds. A hollow wooden table top they walked on.

They can sit on the front edge, with enough height so their feet don't touch the ground.
They can toss their clothes off the back, or the sides..

So when the 4K camera is framed, It has to capture from the Floor and almost to the Ceiling, ( top of the pole )
I'm not sure if the standing clips are also shot on top of the table, or if they are at floor level.

Because of how we can see the feet and shoes, ( almost straight on, no angle ) I almost think they are standing on the table top.

The Height of the Camera lens then needs to be almost on the same plane as the table top.
so you see a flat surface across the top of the table.

In some clips, I think the Camera is just a tad low, and sometimes a tad High.
Variance between set ups.

Because of the realativly short Focal length, if the Model is back too far on the table, Her Apparent Height changes..
Watch a Pole clip. When she is in front of the Pole, She's Taller than she is When she goes Behind the Pole.

Shoe Height. This can make a huge change.
I think the Framing is set up with bare / stocking feet. Then if she puts on a High Shoe, the framing is off.

Anyway, these are my observations from watching the clips.
I've not yet seen the actual Studio or a filming session in person.
One day, though, I would luv to visit

I suppose they have to take in to account how far left and right the girl moves to keep her in frame too.

It's only a ***** thing that they claim the girls are 3k when demonstrably at least the ones i have checked are not.

WA, visiting the Totem Office let alone the Studio (which I didn't get to see) is an amazing experience.

I did that back in 2011 and meet some really wonderful people, especially Celine, Lezardo & Regi who is no longer there.
