With the Newest updates to the Software. 1.2.0.38 and up...
External Control of the Card / Clips has been removed.
My Add on will no longer work with these versions.

Per one of REX's Software update Posts, he did mention that a Future Update will add this function back to the Software.

Until then, 1.2.0.34 is the last version of the software my Add on works with.
It can still be found in the Bugs and Fixes thread

Feature #414: Follow Registry to play clips: Behaves as a user click on the clip.
The program checks every 250 milliseconds if the registry value 'parameters/ForceAnim' contains a clip name (ex: a0001\a0001_0101.demo or a0001_0101.demo). If yes, the program plays this clip and clears this registry value.
The program stores in the registry value 'parameters/CurrentAnim' the clip name (ex: a0001\a0001_0101.demo) of the first girl on the screen.
The program stores also in the registry value 'player/currentClips' all the clip names (ex: a0001_0101.demo a1000_0101.demo) separated by a space.

Just a quick Progress update..
I've gone a slightly different Direction with the changes to Totem.
I decided to develop a go between app.
This app will the bulk of the communication with the Totem GUI, and presents my Player with Two Registry values that Function Just like Totem's old GUI did.

So to Get my Player working, All I had to do is Change The name of the Registry keys.

I have a few more things to finish up...
before I can let it go live..

I'm calling my new app "The_Playlist_Server"
So you start the New Playlist_Server, then Start the Player.

The Playlist server does all the communication to the Totem GUI..
and the Player pushes clips to the Registry just like it did before, but it uses a New Trunk, "ThePlayer" instead of Totem.

The screen shot has a couple extra debug windows open...
These aren't needed to use it..

The Playlist_Server runs as a systray Icon. A Right Click will show 4 icons..
Pause the Server
Show the Debug window
Get Next Clip
Quit


Family and other things are really busy, so It might be a week till I get to finish it all..
just wanted to let you know I'm working on it.

I'm pretty close to releasing this...  hope to have the Installation package done by the end of the week.
Ran into a little snag with Windows XP.
but once you Install Net 4.0 framework and reBoot the issue is gone..
The Installation package will check, and prompt you to install it..
But it's up to you to do the reboot.

• 1) the right clik menu (Pause/Play, Show the Log Window, Get next clip, Quit, Show/Hide Timer )
  
• 2) Same but with the Timer running
  
• 3) The Log window - Logs every clip started, and How Long it played.
  

I have it running on my Windows XP machine now for almost 48 hrs non-stop.

EDIT: the uploading of Pictures seems to be Broken.
I'm using Google Chrome. While it had worked yesterday. It's not Working today..

Download the Full Installer:

Unzip the files to a folder of your Choice.
DISABLE – your security software. Anti-Virus, Anti-Spy, Anit-Spam, Anti-Anti... Disable it..

There are two possibilities:

• You Need Dot Net 4.0
  
• You already have Dot Net 4.0
  

​​In either case, run the Dot Net Installer.
dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe
IF, it had to install Dot net 4.0, Please reboot before continuing.

Now run the setup program
It is going to Ask you for a Path.
Make sure you use a Path in YOUR user profile.
I prefer :
C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Local\ThePlayer
Since appdata is a hidden folder.It’ easier to Just Type the Path in the text box.
After it is installed..

• Run the Playlist server.
  
• Run The Player
  
• Run VG
  

**Set the Systray options to Show the Playlist server Icon, It might be hidden.
Right click the playlist server systray Icon, then click on Play.
You’re now ready to use The Player

A set of more detailed instructions will follow.

I think XP, vista, and w7 do not have Dot Net 4.0 as part of OS.
but W8 and Up already come with it as part of the OS..

The Installer will check and tell you , you already have it..
so just run the Installer.
If it Does install it, please reboot afterwards.

Due to what seems to be my norm, I've had problems installing The Player, surprise! It started when I realised that I wasn't seeing new shows on it. You the ones, The ones where the girlies hang around when you pick them of the bar. I have one, it's Stella Cox. I downloaded the newest version and went through the clear instruction given by Wyldanimal http://www.virtuagirl.eu/userProfile.php?usLogin=Wyldanimal. I even had to change my un-zip program and make a new (The Player) folder in the Data file in user VGH. So it's now up and running, finally, after many issues. Not sure about that new taskbar, seems much more fiddly the just pressing play on the interphase. Not sure what the stage is for either.Anyway I'm going to study the thread today, to get some answers. Anyhow, if anyone knows how to get the new shows to work in The Player or has a link, that would be great. I've tried to click on the various options and just get error messages. On another note, do you know the link for the discussion about them girls hanging around, it would be enjoyable to read that thread. The next step would be to make the girls interactive, dream on.

I've been asked this a few times. Can I share my Models to a 2nd Computer?
This is an Advanced Technique..

On my Main Computer I have an External USB drive Q:
on there I store all of My Models Files

Q:\MyVG\WyldAnimal\Models\

I want to Share the models to a 2nd Computer, so I only Have to Download them Once.
All downloading is from the 1st computer.
On the 2nd Computer, I will have to do a Rebuild all, to see any New cards that I download.
I will never download cards from the 2nd computer.

On my first computer I have File sharing turned on, but I haven't set up a dedicated Share..
I did set Security so the User name on the 2nd computer has rights to access the 1st computer.
I'm using an administrator trick to access the Q:\ drive via Q$

Here's how I do it.

Create a Text file with the following 3 lines

@echo Off
Subst H: /d
Subst H: "\\WyldAnimal\Q$\MyVG\WyldAnimal"

save it to the desktop as "HDriveConnect.bat"
Before using VG on the 2nd Computer Always run that short Script First.
it sets up a Virtual H: drive to the Network Share, up to the WyldAnimal folder.
so then on the 2nd Computer the path is shortend to just "H:\Models\"

This is the Advanced part..
you have to set up the Paths in the Registry.
Don't try this if you don't understand what you are doing.

Registry settings:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Totem\vghd\System

1st Computer - Models on External Q: Drive

DataPath = C:\Users\WyldAnimal\AppData\Roaming\vghd\data\
MainPath = C:\Users\WyldAnimal\AppData\Local\vghd\bin
ModelsPath = Q:\MyVG\WyldAnimal\Models\

2nd Computer - Models across the Network

DataPath = C:\Users\WA\AppData\Roaming\vghd\data\
MainPath = C:\Users\WA\AppData\Roaming\vghd\bin
ModelsPath = H:\Models\

Note: On Both Computers, they Have their Own, Local Data Folders.
I don't share the Data folder, just the Models.

the data folders is not so huge, so it's good to have each one it's own local copy.

this method, allows my Player to work with the Shared Models files.
When I Set it up as a regular network Share it created security problems that this gets around.
My Program doesn't have a digital cirtificate that allows it to access network shares.

There is better stuff arround !

where do you get the information about what to change exactly for a regkey?
is there any list or help file?
I would like to make a small visual basic program where it just counts all folders and pics i have and maybe which zip files are missing. Any additional infos would help me where you get such infos from.
I googled about command line and vghd, but it just showed me thousand useless infos about how i could crack my installation. lol
