Idea for Upgrading Old Cards

I'm aware that Totem have stopped upgrading the later than 720p shows to 1080p but we all have our favourites that we still want to receive the treatment.

How about adding a sort of crowdfunding system?

Each card that is capable of being upgraded starts with 0 points and users pay credits to add a point to the score and when it reaches 50 that card goes in the que for remastering.

Thoughts?

That's an interesting idea, but 500 might be a more realistic goal than 50. I would think that if customers paid in advance 50% of the cost to remaster a card Totem might take on the job. Remember that remastered cards are free to all customers who already own the card. All Totem gets from a remastered card is any new sales generated by the card. I suspect that is why they no longer remaster 720 to 1080. They just can't recover the costs.

Yes, 50 was just a random number off the top of my head.

I only use 1080p cards in my playlists so there are cards I'd like but won't buy due to the resolution.
This would allow Totem to open them up to more customers.

Thanks for your suggestion ! Reading how important republications are for you, we have decided to plan new ones in the coming weeks/months !
And we won't set a crowdfunding for this (but we keep the good idea for the future :)
As usual : if you have a show in your collection that get republished, we will display an "update available" on it :)
cheers

I own a lot of 720 cards that I seldom play because they look bad compared to the 1080 and 3K cards. I would be willing to pay the price difference between 720 and 1080 cards (about 3 credits at my level) to upgrade the cards I really like.
